New thread!

Whoop! Thanks for the new thread :)
Catherine is pretty good at settling at bedtime but is still convinced the day starts at 5am. Yesterday was 4.15 and it took 25 mins to get her back to sleep, then she was up for the day at 5,30 anyway 🙈

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 03/07/2021 20:39

@Littlehouseinthebigcity my dc4 was like that! 3/4am starts. Its a killer. He outgrew it just after turning 2 if i remember right!

Dc5 is a really good sleeper and has 10/11 solid hours every night!

Dc6 arrived this week! We are both fine and i am enjoying having my body back!

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE Aaaah! congratulations!! How are you? How was it all? Xx

Dyra · 03/07/2021 22:16

Congratulations @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE! This one didn't keep you waiting like DC5! Hope you, baby, DH and DCs1-5 are all doing well.

Alice is horrible to get to sleep until she's ready to and not a minute before. She is rarely asleep before 9, regularly fighting sleep until after 10. Oh and I'm the only one who can calm enough to settle enough to leave her alone to sleep. Fortunately, once I've got her settled and calm enough to leave her in her cot, she's quite happy to be left alone to motor around her cot babbling away to her toys until she falls asleep. She is decidedly not a morning baby as a result. Any time before 8am is early for her.

I think she's getting ready to drop her nap though. We've experimented with zero nap days this week. She did ok, sleeping from 7.30 until 9, but today she definitely needed a nap. A 4 hour nap in the end. I missed all 3 of the second half goals.

Geegrl19 · 04/07/2021 01:10

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE thanks for the thread and massive congratulations! Hope everything going well and everyone is adjusting. I hope all the siblings are good helpers!

@dyra I reckon Nate will drop his nap sometime in the not too far future as they're getting later in the day. He only sleeps about an hour anyway, but not looking forward to that!

In other news, the Wiggles no longer annoy me. This is a concerning development 🤪

PollyRoe16 · 04/07/2021 07:16

@Geegrl19 he has a little night light on and we leave his door ajar until he's properly asleep and then shut it and he will sleep through most nights so I guess I shouldn't complain! It's just so draining some nights being in there for up to an hour.
When he was little we used to be able to leave him and he'd chat to himself before falling asleep 🤷🏼‍♀️
We were out last night and he was fast asleep for nanny at half 7 so he can do it 🤦🏼‍♀️

drumst1ck · 07/07/2021 08:46

Yay! Congrats @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE! Hope you're all enjoying the snuggles!

On holiday currently and DD decides now is a good time to get her first proper cold since before covid. She doesn't go to nursery so has somehow managed to avoid illness for nearly two years...Anyway she's running a temp and very upset so it's a day in bed looking at the view we can't go out and see!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 08/07/2021 19:31

My girls are currently isolating 😣 Their nursery is open plan so one positive case has closed the whole nursery! I was at work today but the rest of the week has been intense. Any activities which your little ones will do independently would be great. Dd1 is nearly 4 and happy colouring/drawing/trying to write etc but Catherine is less easily entertained...

yellowspot · 12/07/2021 13:17

Congratulations @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE !! Hope you're all well x

E is generally okay going to bed. We seem to have nipped the midnight - 3am parties in the bud but he's still waking every morning at 5 ready for the day. Safe to say I am not ready for the day at that time!
Praying to the nap gods we don't lose Es anytime soon. I know I'm going to need that time once baby is here.

Hope the rest of last week wasn't too challenging in isolation @Littlehouseinthebigcity . We've all be isolating with positive tests for over a week now so I know how crap it is!

yellowspot · 07/08/2021 09:07

Hey Everyone! Hope you're all doing okay? Just had a very crazy scary thought that some of the group babes with be turning 2 this month!? It has gone so crazily quick x

THATmamaofMANY · 10/08/2021 08:13

Thanks for all the congratulations!

Less than a month until we have a 2 year old Shock

THATmamaofMANY · 10/08/2021 08:14

Oh its snowflake on a nc incase you can not tell lol

Dyra · 10/08/2021 10:03

Indeed a very scary thought @yellowspot! Alice is two in 26 days. Don't know how. We only came home from the hospital yesterday with her.... How're you getting on btw? Finding pregnancy any different this time around?

How's DC6 getting on @THATmamaofMANY? Must be nearly 2 months old now!

In other news, I'm pregnant! Early days still. I'm between 6+4 and 7+4. Pesky cycles never had a chance to become regular, do I'm guesstimating a cycle length of 33-40 days. Virtually no symptoms which is both nice and extremely worrisome! Most of the time, if it wasn't for the POAS, I wouldn't know.

THATmamaofMANY · 11/08/2021 13:16

Congratulation @Dyra Flowers

Dc6 is good thank you, pretty chilled out! He's 6 weeks now! Injections in a couple of weeks!

Geegrl19 · 20/08/2021 12:50

Oh congrats @dyra. Exciting! Glad you're feeling ok.

Yep, 2, it's crazy. Kind of flown by hasn't it

Dyra · 20/08/2021 13:12

Thanks @Geegrl19. Between 8 and 9 weeks now. Had my booking appointment yesterday and scan is booked in towards the end of September. Everything still seems to be going well.

How're you getting on?

Geegrl19 · 20/08/2021 13:40

Exciting looking forward to scans, nerve wracking too!

Ugh, so over this bloody virus that I won't name. Melbourne still in lockdown and I don't think it'll be long before we are too in regional areas. They've just cancelled kids sport tomorrow so no tennis (must admit I'm not sad about not having to get up early and then chase Nate everywhere though). Sucks for the kids. My middle dd not doing well at all with the amount of lockdowns we've had. Just ugh!!

Glad I've preplanned and got Nate's presents already!

Anyone got anything exciting for their little ones? I've just got bits as he has so much already. Jigsaws, doodle magnetic board things, a scuttlebutt and some clothes.

Dyra · 20/08/2021 16:03

We're getting Alice a scooter. It has an attachment which is a sort of saddle to the stem so she can use it more like a balance bike for the early days. We're going to have to get inventive to think of things for Christmas though. She has so much stuff!

Geegrl19 · 22/08/2021 06:17

So we're back in lockdown and stricter than ever. Sigh. Was only given two hours notice. Don't think I can even send Nate to daycare now. He's going to be climbing the walls as no parks open either.

Good job I did spend up big at Kmart this past week 🤣

On the brightside, I can smell spring in the air outside today!

yellowspot · 12/12/2021 22:03

Oh this thread has been quiet for some time! Hope you and all the toddlers (no longer babies 😭) are doing well?! And all is those with new babies too x

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 12/12/2021 23:05

It has! Everyone will be busy getting ready for Christmas now. We're just ending isolation after I tested positive for Covid. No one else in the house got it thankfully but we all isolated as a precaution so I was homeschooling with a 2 year old TA 😂 How is everyone else doing?

Geegrl19 · 18/12/2021 09:38

Hi everyone! Yes time has flown and it's been quite here. All good here, had a mammoth present wrapping session today so I'm worn out. Nate is doing well, finally talking a bit more. Managed to injure himself about three times today when playing so he's got a couple of extra bruises than normal, lol.

Hope everyone is well and all the new bubbas
