Recovery after second degree tear

Hi, I had a second degree tear when I gave birth to my son 6 weeks ago. It stings when I wee for the last few weeks and smells a bit. I told the health visitor who said to phone the doctor. It takes ages to get an appointment now and when I eventually got through I had to do a urine sample. I've phoned for results twice and only now they're getting back to me and they were clear. Has anyone had anything similar? I will try and phone the doctor again tomorrow but it's just so hard to get them to see you now and I was told that here in Wales we don't get a 6 week check up anymore.

Ive got a third degree tear. I was told to rinse the area with water when ever i went to the toilet and pat dry to keep it clean. If something smells you need to see the GP as it may be infected. They need to take a swab. Have you looked in the mirror to see if it's healed/looks ok?
Trying to get a GP to actually see you is a joke at the moment, i had to demand a face to face as I am having issues with it healing. They originally said for me to go to A&E, no wonder our local hospital is struggling with the number of people in A&E!
