H & M baby clothes sizing

Hello

Has anyone bought much baby stuff from H & M? A lot of their pieces are lovely and affordable but the sizing seems very specific, I don't know what to go for for a new born.

The sizes are 0-1month, 1-2 month, 2-4 month. Rather than the classic tiny baby, new born etc.

From experience would you say 0-1 is going to be more for tiny baby? I'm writing a list of hospital bag essentials and wanted to include some of their clothing.

No idea how big or small baby will be. I'm 28 weeks. Dad is very tall. My bumps still quite small. Totally clueless Grin

Don't know about H&M sorry but when I had DC1 I too in newborn and 0-3 months. Ended up having to get some early baby ones as he was a bit small Smile

Not sure about the small baby sizes but the larger baby and toddlers sizes come up small in my experience.
So I would say, based on that, that 1-2 months would be similar to “up to 1 month” clothes in other stores and they usually last up until about 10lb. Newborn (probably H&Ms 0-1 month size) tends to be up to 7-8lb.

My advice would be skip the smallest sizes or only get a few bits in them, as they outgrow them within days/weeks!

We’ve just had a baby and she was 6lb 15oz. We bought some of the H&M newborn clothes (0-1 month) as our other newborn stuff was a bit big. The H&M stuff is very reasonably priced, washes well so is perfect for us in the first few weeks. I’d recommend it. Nice designs too!

I bought 90% of my baby clothes from h and h.i live abroad so limited choice. I have a 4 week. old

I bought a 1x 5 pack of of the 0-1m long sleeved onesies, 2x 3 packs of the zipper pyjamas and 1 x 5 pack of the footed leggings. My babe was 3.5 kg when she was born and is 4.1kg today. She's only just starting to grow out of them. I reckon i have a week or two left before we move up to 2-4 m. I will then buy the same amount in the next size up. The only other extra things i bought clotheswise was a warm cardigan and a hat for when we go out and a pack of bibs as she's quite dribbly. The weather here is about 10 -13 C during the day so she seems warm enough in these with her blanket in a pram. She wears just a onsie during the day (no trousers) as she spends most of the day curled up on me or my husband. And she has her zip pyjamas for when we put her down at night. Hippie this helps x
