Baby Blues Irrational

Just had baby number 3 and day 4 came with the baby blues. I was watching a tv show about babies switched at birth and now all I can think about is what if my baby was switched in the hospital. Rationally I know this seems so stupid but my anxiety is awful. Anyone else ever fear this?

Sorry for late reply, didn't see this. Yes I'm ok thanks. Very much a case of hormones dropping after baby. Still get a bit emotional at the drop of a hat 6 weeks on but feeling a good bit better. Thanks for the reply. Xx

Hi, I am going through the same thing as this atm and have been for weeks. Can I ask have you got over this (I hope so) and if so what made it better? Many thanks

I'm feeling much better now and baby is 8 weeks old. I still have my emotional moments though. With my second baby I had postnatal anxiety and went to my GP. I took escitalopram and went to see a perinatal psychologist. After a few months I felt so much better. It's so hard with hormone fluctuations for months after a baby but I definitely recommend speaking to your GP. Xx

I also found talking about how I was feeling with my husband, mum and a few close friends really helped. I made sure to go for walks and get some fresh air everyday too. Xx

Hi, thank you for replying and very pleased you are feeling better 😃 I have spoken to my gp and have a therapist I will hopefully get over this. Such a stupid thought to have and know rationally it’s not happened, I hope to feel better soon. I might need the meds if I can’t stop thinking it, good advice re walking I probably should do more! many thanks x
