Hi all! First time mother here and my newborn is 6weeks today. I am just wondering what is your view or experience with Cow & Gate Hungry Infant Milk powder as my baby always wants more milk so he is on 6oz a bottle everytime he gets feeds (sometimes he wants more!) with original Cow & Gate newborn powder?

My doctor, aunt who is a midwife and cousin who is a ped nurse all hate extra hungrey formulas. I was advised quite passionately against it and to just give my DC what first infant cow and gate milk he wanted. My DC was on 7oz bottles at 10 weeks 6/7 times a day. He slowed down and is still in 7oz bottles at just 6 months (as well as some weaning). Maybe speak to your HV for advise? Xx

Give them as much formula as they want at this age

Don’t be conned by the hungry formula.

Hungry baby formula is just marketing. It can cause constipation as well.

Growth spurts can cause cluster feeds. Instead of giving 6oz in one go you can give smaller amounts more regularly. Some babies want feeding more often then every 3/4 hours and that is ok
