Has anyone had a doula during Covid?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has been supported by a doula (in addition to OH or other birth partner) since the pandemic started? How helpful did you find that if so?

We had a doula when my first was born and it was great, but not sure if worth the expense if only one birth partner is allowed in hospital with you. Would love to hear others' experiences.

The time we considered it was when researching home birth.

In the end I was consultant led, so had to deliver in hospital, but if I hadn’t I would have loved a home birth. We looked at paying a private midwife if the NHS had run into difficulty during COVID. I found one and loved her, wish I could have had her!

But as you say, in hospital with 1 birth partner only then there’s not much point (unless you ditch your birth partner..Grin)
