Oh yes, they have many weight issues. MIL goes to the gym 4 times a week and hardly eats much at all (and always healthy stuff). They are always saying dh is fat . Dh & I usually arrange to have most of our meals out while we're there cos otherwise we're hungry .

geordiemacmummy · 11/10/2007 11:47

Tell her to lap off then nutty!!!

C just hada slice of medium cheddar - he loved it!!

Off out for lunch this afternoon with a mummy that I met through MN, her DS is a few months older than C but they love each other!!

Had an email from Vio last night, she has been visiting her SIL in Spain but is back now, she seems quite positive, am hoping to see her next week.

Sexonlegs · 11/10/2007 11:55

GMM, have been wondering about Vio. Glad she seems to be feeling positive.

Wow, eating cheese.

K just seems so dis-interested in everything - even her milk .

mammyjo · 11/10/2007 12:03

That probably explains it then. Personally, would just try and ignore all their unwelcome comments. How you feed your baby is your business and is of no concern to them - so there!!

GMM, glad vio is doing ok. Have been thinking of her lately.

AuntieMeemz · 11/10/2007 12:30

thanks SOL will do

AuntieMeemz · 11/10/2007 12:37

dooby, we lost our son (born full term and apparently fine) at this time of year too. My heart goes out to you. I bet they were glad to have had us as mummies, however sort their time here was.
Five years and two children later, but I still dread this time of year.

However, on a lighter note, my friends grandson is younger than our daughter! She is 6 months old. Grandson in question is 4 months old!

AuntieMeemz · 11/10/2007 12:42

oh oh! have got my popolini nappies, and I'm loving it. I've also got the mothercare smart nappy, and am loving them too. Pity they don't do an eco friendly disposable to put in it.

I hope this doesn't get you all going, especially Norma!

I can see why people love re-usables.

Have been to NCT coffee, and had a man round from our skills exchange system, who will put up our long awaited wall lights for free.

Oh, wouldn't you want to be me for the day?

oooggs · 11/10/2007 12:58

good morning afternoon!!!!!

sol - young Jack is home with his mummy & daddy but keeps going for tests

mammyjo - dh is on days so bedtime is better

oooggs · 11/10/2007 12:59

thanks eddas re highchair thread - you stalker you

nappynuttynormabutty · 11/10/2007 13:07

Maveta's already got me going this morning but then she couldn't put out .

Glad you like the nappies. Haven't tried the Mothercare one (am rather loathing mothercare at the mo!). I like to buy mine from work from home mums if I can!

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 13:36

hi everyone
maveta, I'm cooking loads of vegetables then freezing them, so if I go anywhere I'll just take out a few frozen sticks which will prob be defrosted by the time he comes to eat them. I agree though, don't really get the they'll eat what you eat thing, if we go out, it's usually for pizza . Maybe gets easier as they get older though.
I know what you mean about not letting your own likes and dislikes affect what you offer the babies. I am so fussy so trying not to fall into the trap (which is why I bought the parsnip )
Well, fun day here so far. Appointment with mortgage woman, during which T did a huge poo. I ignored it as we were nearly done and would have changed him in the car until he started crying & i sat him on my knee - and got a huge sticky patch on my knee! So quickly changed him on the floor on a muslin as had forgotten the mat, him trying to roll over, me trying to pin him down, poo flying everywhere Finally got a new nappy on, only to find I didn't have a new outfit, just a vest that was too small. SO I crammed him into that and his coat, wrapped legs in a blanket, wiped poo on my leg with a baby wipe, and that's how we went round tesco!
Lots of fun!

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 13:37

at your ILs nutty, suggesting she's being over fed!

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 13:46

wow T just got up on his hands and knees in classic crawling position and started rocking back and forwards!
I actually thought he crawled about a month ago, just one step, only told nutty as thought I'd probably imagined it...looks like I did

nappynuttynormabutty · 11/10/2007 13:53

Lol @ the poo episode SMB . Dh is always forgetting to put something in the changing bag (usually a bib!) and if he does manage to remember to pack everything he usually forgets the bag .

VamPesha · 11/10/2007 14:03

PMSL at your poo debacle SMB I'm that you would go out with no change of clothes or mat or anything! I know I would - at present my changing bag contains a 0-3 vest, pair of socks and a pair of nathan's pants - but I was always imagined you to be so much more organised and prepared!!

Oh and def gonna start freezing some veg sticks - great idea thanks

I think when they're just starting out I tend to be quite careful about what I give them but after a couple of months as they get used to it I think the occassional 'unsuitable' meal does them no harm, if going for pizza I'd give him garlic bread, actually I'd prob give him pizza too! But I would have thought if you're going for roast most of that will be fine. I've stopped adding salt in alot of my cooking - if people really want it they can put it on afterwards.

I also dont ever give them sugar on cereal, if they have porridge I'll put banana and/or raisins in it but def no sugar (despite not being able to eat it without sugar myself ). When older dc went to stay at my mums once they made them porridge and step dad put lots of honey and brown sugar on it - ds1 refused to eat it cos it was too sweet

There was more I wanted to say but D has just finished bfing so now time for abit of lunch.

VamPesha · 11/10/2007 14:05

At crawling SMB - N started at 6 months, this is where all the trouble fun starts!!

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 14:14

Lol at you thinking I'm organised
Well usually I am a bit more than this, but tend to go out after the pooey nappy change of the day, we just had an early appointment today Plus I had so much to remember for the mortgage stuff and had to pop in to the solicitors that T's stuff was way down the list! I have no idea where my changing mat is though

Pinions · 11/10/2007 15:28

Sorry to barge in but have to get this off my chest.

Just been on the school run to pick up ratbag AND theres a lady outside waiting to pick up her LO in a nice shiny black Mercedes SLK convertible 2007.

Next to her she has what must have been AT THE MOST a two week old baby, absolutely screaming its poor head off and she is SAT THERE TOTALLY IGNORING IT TEXTING HER MATES!

Makes me mad. Poor bugger. .

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 15:42

please read this :o

SharpMolarBear · 11/10/2007 15:44

that's horrible Pinions
Maybe Claire Verity convinced her it was trying to manipulate her

MurderousMaveta · 11/10/2007 16:13

and at that woman and her baby Pinions..

..LOL SMB at your pooey patch! Once when N was quite little we were in the supermarket and dh had N in the baby bjorn when he started pooing and it started dribbling down his leg luckily we had a muslin on hand to just hold over and finished shopping asap hoping it wasn't a big one he was doing! lol

Yes sorry I left you unsatisfied there, nutty, twas not my intention.. I'm never going to sell these damn nappies.

PSML at that thread..

ooh SMB, with the frozen sticks, will you just give them to him cold then?

I tried to give N some banana sliced into sticks that he could hold on to but it was too slippery! every time he grabbed a piece it just popped out the top of his fist. not a very successful Official First Attempt.

kneehighinnappies · 11/10/2007 16:40

Afternoon ladies.

I am feeling somewhat better now, had my first visit from ym homesart voluenteer so that has made me feel better knowing that I am going to have an extra pair of hands for a couple of weeks.

As for DH tosser he has been punished for what he did, i have taken ALL his bank and credit cards away, we now both need to sign cheques and I even made him close his personal bank account, plus the fact that he is now on £10 a day pocket money.
As for the £2000 I have now spoekn to the il's and explained that dh had taken the money out of the children's saving account so we need it back and they have ageeed when they have the cash they will give it back to us.
Ok so dh didn't take the money out of the kids account but he may as wel have as I had to take £2000 out of their account to pay for the solicitors fees, as we didn't have enough thanks to dh's generosity
I'm over it really

Hope you are a well.

Pinions · 11/10/2007 16:44

Sounds like a sensible plan, I would have been absolutely LIVID if that was me KHIN (still think of you as 1B3 ).

Totally out of order really all in all.
Right off to bath the sprogs I know its only 4.45 but still! Get it out of the way!

Pinions · 11/10/2007 16:46

Feel really for the poor little baby, I wanted to knock on the window and say......scuse me love but I think your baby is crying screaming its head off.

oooggs · 11/10/2007 16:49

good for you KHIN
