I think you do walk off and leave F. My DN disappers under racks of clothes in shops. It's actually very funny (not for my sis). He is 6.

It's hard though, DS2 kicks off inshoe shops. I have to take my Dad to deal with it. DH & I are USELESS!

sadly, they still do it at 10, and that's difficult too (cos they're too big for carrying etc)

Try leggings charlie! My dd has lovely little chunky thighs and I just want to bite them with leggings on, she looks so cute!

I feel sick, I ate too many chocs!

faylisa · 10/10/2007 21:40

I would leave her but I'd be so terrified of her getting lost

Elsbells · 10/10/2007 21:41

Am off now
night all

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 21:41

faylisa, hard though it may be, the best thing to do is ignore it...or get down on the floor and join in that soon shuts 'em up as it throws them off completely!

But if you think the terrible twos are bad...just wait till she hits the troublesome threes, the farking awful fours and fives and the shoot me sixes

sorry, I'm being flippant. It is really difficult and you think the world is watching you for your reaction too. I think pickeing her up and removing her from the situation was the best thing to do.

From what I've seen, little gorls tantrum gene os so much more finely tuned than little boys. DS used to kick off a bit, but all my friends DDs have full blown on the floor tantrums with screaming.

I'm so not looking forward to DD going through that stage.

faylisa · 10/10/2007 21:44

If that's what's to come then maybe I'll just run away screaming now. Aggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Charlie999 · 10/10/2007 21:44

Oh Faylisa ...sounds horrible...I'm sure you'll find your own way of dealing with it as she does it more often but my sister used to walk away and perhaps just stand round the corner where they couldn't see her...it had the effect of them thinking "blimey where has she gone and why isn't she paying me any attention?" Sure its easier said than done though!

I remember being "spoken to" through gritted teeth in the corner of a shop as a kid

CunningPlanFormulator · 10/10/2007 21:45

'Tis true daisy! My dd has the most horrific tantrums all the time. She has them when we go out, when we go home, when she walks, when she goes in the pushchair, when she sits in the trolley at the supermarket, when she is told no, when she gets dressed...and the list goes on. It's a constant battle!

Charlie999 · 10/10/2007 21:46

Oh blimey....have i got all this to come?

TALLULAHSPELL · 10/10/2007 21:47

Ah - so much to look forward to.

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 21:48

BTW, 10 year olds don't lay on the floor kicking and screaming... they are incredibly stuborn and won't do what you want them to,

OP posts:
faylisa · 10/10/2007 21:48

I did make her stand in a 'naughty corner' for a bit which worked for about 5 mins. If (or rather when) it happens again I will try the ignoring and carrying on walking tactic.

Blardy hell these DCs (with less of the D on days like this) are sent to try us.

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 21:48

shite spelling...sorry
Cahrli, I've got a pair of Babylegs leg warners for DD. They're a bit big at the moment, but are sooooo cute.

CunningPlanFormulator · 10/10/2007 21:48

Yes, but I'd much rather have a naughty child with spirit than a dull and boring one! When she is not tantruming she is great fun!

faylisa · 10/10/2007 21:49

Cunning - that is very true.

faylisa · 10/10/2007 21:54

Right off to bed for me. Wish me luck - DS slept through (8pm-5:30am) for only the second time ever and I'm praying for a repeat performance.....

Charlie999 · 10/10/2007 21:55

OMG those leg warmers are gorgeous! Holly, got her some leggings last week but 3-6 trousers too big at the mo (and 0-3 too small

Right off to bed for me.....DD been in bed since 6.50pm....

Night all x

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 21:56

Cahrli....wtf????....

holly, I totally agree with you. Ds is a whole heap of trouble, but he is such a lovely interesting child with a huge zest for life ans an imagination the size of a small planet.

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 21:58

Hang on to that thought about kids with spirit when yo get called in to school about their behaviour!!! (that might just be boys

must go,

DS2 asleep (unheard of, but 3rd jabs today).

Good luck to everyone (me included) for a good nights sleep.

Tomorrow is a new day, with no mistakes in it yet.

(who said that?)

TALLULAHSPELL · 10/10/2007 22:01

Ah well - best down my wine & join my sleeping beauties. Sleep well everyone.

Charlie999 · 10/10/2007 22:03

What did I say?

daisyandbabybootoo · 10/10/2007 22:04

that stuff about chunky babies legs obviously Charlie

have you thought any more about your name change?

riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 22:04

a child has just passed my dh in the street and referred to him as a strange man. just because he dresses like van helsing ... and said childs mother (self important cow who thinks she is in charge at school) didn't even tell him to shush. GGRRR.

OP posts:
riabutterflew · 10/10/2007 22:07

you wouldn't believe working only an hour a day could be so bitchy...

stick to your proper careers girlies, don't throw it all away just to keep an eye on your dcs at school...

Charlie999 · 10/10/2007 22:08

Oh

Still thinking...you gave me some ideas to think about though last night...thanks
