Coughing on milk

Hi all

I am breastfeeding my little one but she keeps gagging/coughing on milk. Anyone else find their little ones so the same? Not sure if it's just she forgets to swallow or it's too fast for her. Scares me though...

Do you feel like you have a fast let down? My daughter used to do this too. Sometimes I would hand express into a muslin until the initial let down had slowed, then put her to the breast. You can try feeding in laid back or upright positions too (look up the koala hold). As she grew bigger she was able to cope with the flow a lot better!

@CrashingCymbals Thank you :) Yes the feeling I get when the let down kicks in is so strong and it nearly sprays across the room lol. I have taken to expressing some off but will look into the hold
