Reducing breast feeds - mum guilt!

DS is now 8 months old, he was EBF until around 2 weeks ago when I introduced a bottle of formula at bed time, now I am starting to give him a bottle in the day also, hoping by 1 he will be of the breast all together and on a beaker of milk as DD was of bottles by then also ( EBF her until 3 months )

But I feel guilty 🤦🏻‍♀️ he obviously enjoys BF and the comfort of it! But he is feeding less in the day now he is weaning and I don't want to BF past 1 year 🤷🏻‍♀️

Don't feel guilty, it's amazing you've done it this long! Some of the bad feelings may be hormones, they go a little out of whack as breastfeeds are reduced I think? Fwiw I'm breastfeeding my 6 month old but plan to do the same as you and slowly wean him off as he takes more solids. Xx

Your body, your choice. Celebrate the 8 months you gave him, but if you're done, you're done. No need for guilt..

I'm in the same boat but at the moment my DS won't take formula, only boob! I'm worried I'm going to be feeding him until he's 5 lol. Originally I was going to give up by 6 months but now I'm set on a year so I'm hoping to make some progress on the bottle / cup soon. I also feel guilty as I know he loves it and it makes him so relaxed but eventually we have to get out own bodies back and I've had enough of hands up my nose / pulling my ears/ hair when I feed!
