9 week old drooling and sucking hands?

He's just started to dribble and suck his hands like he hasn't eaten in days. He's now refusing his dummy and a bottle and will only breastfeed. My nipples also really hurt, since he's been doing this. I don't know if it's a coincidence or he's chewing them or something? I can't feel anything different while he's latched on though.

Wondering what this could be? Why would he not want a dummy or bottle so suddenly?

He could be teething. Have a look in his mouth, he might have a tooth that's causing this.

Excessive drooling and pink cheeks is likely teething. Also babies love chewing/chomping/sucking hands and toes andc they produces excess saliva. Enjoy the newborn stage- it's the easiest!

He’s teething. This can start weeks before you see the first tooth.

Yeah totally normal. My 4mo sucks his hands and drools constantly- has done pretty much since birth! If not hungry, frantic hand sucking here generally means a poo is incoming or he's tired and needs to be put down for a nap. Could also be teeth although we've not had one yet!
