sorry nutty, have to disagree with you on all that, guess it shows how much it varies!

i don't attend regularly, and it's not my parish church, and the godparents don't have to have been baptised

oh, and we're doing it during a normal service because there is no priest in residence at the moment, but they don't charge to do it as a private service, that's what i did for Matthew

it is our parish church the moving thing would be so we'd have more space for the after service do!I got married in church near my parents, DH was also christened there (weird parallel life nutty!) and the vicar told us to not have our children christened there

nappynuttynormabutty · 08/09/2007 21:34

Yep Ellie, you have a good memory . We got Erin christened at the church we got married in (where I'd been christened and my parents got married and....). Was made much easier because I was on the church electoral roll (had to go on it to be married there). Vicar was happy to organise christening over phone as it was so far from where we live and we weren't really able to go to see him!

elliek · 08/09/2007 21:35

why?

part of my reason for choosing this church is that I was christened there

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 08/09/2007 21:37

was part of the pre wedding classes - he was saying that loads of out of area people want to get married there as the church is beautiful, which it is, but it was in a kind of jokey "we're really busy" way.
this is the church
