Breastfeeding CONSTANTLY

Hi there,
Just looking for a bit of advice...
Four week old baby exclusively breast fed - i knew about cluster feeding but my DD never goes past two hours for a feed - in fact, its a struggle to get her there. Often it's every hr to 90mins. I have another DD at 2 who i literally can't get near for feeding.
Is this normal?

Totally normal! My baby was on me non stop. They are building your supply up. The more they take the more you make. Your supply should start to establish from week 6.

Well done.... You're doing great 👍

Congratulations! I'm going through the same thing. Have a 6 week old and 2 year old. You also seem to be where I was a couple of weeks ago! Over the last week or so though feedings feel a bit more distinct and spaced and cluster feeding doesn't go on so late at night. We'll get there! It's all normal.

Yes all normal. My baby would feed every 45 minutes at times (day & night!) but it was short lived.

Totally normal. I remember reading that breast milk is digested in 90 mins - makes sense huh?! It'll space out soon (although can't remember when, exactly...). You're doing great!!

Thank you so much everyone! Ive heard about the miraculous 6 week mark - I'm defo not expecting a lot as i know shes still so little and needs me whenever but i miss playing with my eldest so much! A wee two to three hourly window would be amazing!

Very normal, my baby did a killer 14hr cluster feed around this age! Stick with it, it gets easier!

BeautifulBirds · 15/03/2020 23:46

Hey just wondering how you're doing?

MamatobeFeb20 · 16/03/2020 07:40

Hi @BeautifulBirds - my DD is 6 weeks tomorrow and glad to say that its calmed down significantly. We've had a few 3hr windows between feeds and she's gone 5hrs between feeds in the night the last two nights! She was diagnosed with silent reflux last week though and started on omeprazole so dunno if some of that was comfort feeding and now she feels a bit better?

Good to hear. Sad about the reflux but the meds should help. Your supply should be establishing now too.
Well done for getting to week six. It should become easier from now 👍

Thanks so much for checking in @BeautifulBirds ❤️
