Oh, and did I mention that he is on the move? He has worked out how to roll across the floor to get where he wants and also he backwards crawls, this is not good news as he is only 5 months and I was hoping for another 5 knowing he would stay where I put him, this is not going to be the case

Ellie, i've done that, tyoed completely the wrong words from what I was meaning?

Pesha · 29/08/2007 23:19

Hi wcl sorry you're having such a tough time, its so much harder to cope with things like that when they're in the middle of the night, hope it doesnt last long for you.
And big sympathies on the moving baby thing, nathan was like that - absolute nightmare! I am quite relieved that so far, although D can roll he's generally quite happy just kicking his legs and moving round in circles watching the world go by and smiling at it! I really dont need another nathan, I wouldnt be without the one ive got but that one is enough!! But it keeps life interesting!

And ellie I'm always doing that - I wrote always earlier instead of already, usually manage to spot it before posting though.

emmymummy · 30/08/2007 08:05

Have also just started weaning S as she makes out she'd starving whenever we eat anything. So far she's chewed on banana, sucked on watermelon, had babyrice, and I have cooked and pureed apples from the garden for her. Oh an she might have just had the teensiest bit of ice cream on holiday (she loved that!). I'm also in the drak about BLW - can someone explain a bit? I think CD did that with one of hers??? CD???

Also very sad to read about M2T&F's dh - what a dreadful shock, and I really feel for her having to adjust to being without him and explain to her DCs where daddy has gone.

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 08:39

Mornign everyone
Well after the big no sleep day yesterday I'm hoping T does sleep today. Seems good so far, he's snoozing after his breakfast.
Pesha, thanks for the reassurance. I'm not really worried, it's just strange! How is D getting on?
WCL, sorry to hear about L's wind, hope it improves soon.
Well supply thing seems to be slowly improving but I'll see how today goes. It's horrible hearing him scream in hunger
I'm also really hoping to try BLW but we'll see how it goes

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 08:43

Hi emmymummy, somehow that was a half hour x post! I must have got the page up then gone to feed T. baby led weaning website
I read that thread, it's really awful. I feel so sorry for her and that sounds so inadequate.

elkiedee · 30/08/2007 09:40

Morning all.

Katy, sending your T some sleepy vibes, glad to here he's snoozing.

D woke up at 10 pm, but I guess that's better than 1 or 2 am, and then at 5 am which isn't much fun - no time for us to go back to sleep before starting to get up, basically. He's just glugged down a feed in about 10 minutes, and immediately started screaming again but a dummy has worked for the last few mins. We're going to see my aunt Brigid this afternoon, if he screeches before it's time to set out I'll probably take him to the library. Hoping I might be able to let go of hm for a few minutes in the meantime, he's lying across my lap half asleep.

emmymummy · 30/08/2007 09:44

Thanks for that Katy - I think S will like BLW by the look of things - she's already trying to shove food into her mouth....OK she's not 6 months yet, but they don't all go by the book!

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 09:56

Thanks for the sleepy vibes elkie, he's awake now but does seem calmer than yestreday
LOL at you - if he screeches we'll take him to the library
Emmymummy, I think the idea of BLW is that, within reason, if they pick it up and eat it then they're old enough iyswim! As in nature ensures their physical development is in line with their eating needs, excluding obvious things like peanuts. Don't take my word for it though, I've only researched so far

elkiedee · 30/08/2007 10:00

But he almost always stops screeching when I take him out, I wouldn't stay there with him screeching.

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 10:23

I just liked the logic
Know what you mean though, T cries at home but when we go somewhere new he sits there wide eyed looking at everything

CaptainDippy · 30/08/2007 10:25

Hi guys - just suddeny started feeling all weird and panic-y - no idea why - not nice! >

Anyway, {{{{{hugs}}} to nutty - well done honey - you are doing so well and making great progress - we are all proud of you here!! DH is just being a "man" sweetie - I know it is discouraging when you don't get any praise etc for the progress you are making, but men sometime don't remember these things ..... it is not just your DH! So Well Done!! Glad you and leaky had fun, fun, fun yesterday!

Hope the diet is going ok emmymummy - Poor thing, hope the IBS improves, not nice for you, esp while trying to looking after little ones. {{{hugs}}} Yes, I did Baby Led Weaning with DD2 - the website ellie (?) linked to is fab - best thing I ever did, makes soooo much sense!

Definitely no weaning going on here, trying to avoid it!

Glad the scottish Meet-Up was fab too! Come back SOL!!

{{{{{hugs}}}} to WCL as well - poor you with your DH away.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Maveta - thinking of you and praying too - do try and pass on news when you can. Hope everything is going to be ok and that there is something they can do for him. xx

P is being funny about her naps too, katy - she is getting herself in a right little paddy most days and getting v.grumpy and over-tired - I thought we had cracked the whole "morning sleep" thing; but the last few mornings she has been a little horror, refusing to settle etc ..... She's started escaping from the swaddle, which is a pain .... not sure what to try next .... any suggestions!!!?

CaptainDippy · 30/08/2007 10:26

Ooooooooh, borrowed a Bumbo from a friend yesterday - P LOVES it! ... and looks sooo cute in it too!

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 10:27

Are you ok

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 10:28

Was it weird heart-pounding, cold sweat feeling?

CaptainDippy · 30/08/2007 10:28

I think so - I hate feeling like this - so unnatural, iykwim!!? I just get panic-y - I don't like things going out of routine etc ..... do I sound mental!!?

CaptainDippy · 30/08/2007 10:29

Yes, and all dizzy and unable to cope or focus on anything .....

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 10:30

no not mental
hope you're ok now and it was just a one off

Katy44 · 30/08/2007 10:31

that sounds awful - panic attack?
You do a lot i think - 3 dds and working, not to mention going to the park at 8am

CaptainDippy · 30/08/2007 10:35

Unfortunately these feelings are all too regular. Have been getting better though - I am less prone to feleing like this since I had P - guess I've just "got to" cope now so I am much more apt to "just get on with it", iykwim!!?

Mmmmm, ah yes - the park at 8am!! One of my finer moments, I feel ..... What I didn't mention was my jumping on top of the "rigging" on the play Pirate Ship shouting "Get downstairs, yer mangy Cabin Boys (DD's 1 & 2) Wash the decks, yer good for nothin' lilly-livered...." .... Only to turn round see a group of teenagers standing by the toilets (local hang-out) watching me!!

elkiedee · 30/08/2007 10:36

Sorry to hear you're stressed Dippy, well, that's what it sounds like. Hope P settles back into a routine and that you manage to get a bit of a rest.

I look forward to knowing how others get on with BLW, I'm quite interested in doing it. However he's weaned, I'm quite looking forward to introducing D to other foods, hoping it will help me feel better about that whole feeding thing.

elkiedee · 30/08/2007 10:40

Oops that sounds embarrassing, but I'm sure it was a totally reasonable response to the situation. I'm sure I really would be totally crazy with 3 such young kids at once. Or more so than I am now.

emmymummy · 30/08/2007 10:43

CD - hope you're OK. Is it just today the funny feelings have started?

Have you tried P in a sleeping bag if she's escaping from her swaddle?

We've borrowed a Bumbo too - S doesn't seem too sure and looks all hunched up in it. I quite like it as I can plonk her in it on the kitchen table though!

Yes diet going well, just can't help looking longingly at the wine in the evening. I just know I've got to stick at it though....stomach seems to be calming down already. Dh keeps forgetting and keeps bringing me cups of tea with cow's milk in in the morning. Bless, at least the thought is there.

Funny that the Small Print website is being shown on the MN homepage at the mo. We're off tomorrow to get some Small Print cufflinks made for dh's birthday. Sooooo cute! Hopefully he'll cry when he gets them!
