lol @ wifely duties

leakyR · 28/08/2007 18:04

Wifely duties? What are they? Dh has just come in to find me and G snoozing and started dinner. In my defence I've got labyrinthitis again and feel pretty crap.

A hot bath usually does the trick if I can't sleep. Apparently your body temp drops as you go to sleep, so having a bath does the same thing to your temp and can trick your brain into dropping off.

Nutty - good idea about meeting up. Coffee at White Rose one day?

normabutty · 28/08/2007 18:08

Yes, white rose sounds good. I can do anyday except Fridays!!! So whenever you like.

Katy44 · 28/08/2007 19:01

Thanks runny - likewise and Eddas

oooggs · 28/08/2007 19:05

good to 'see'you back Katy - well I have survived the day of horror and haven't touched the wine yet!!

Katy44 · 28/08/2007 19:25

Day of horror? Have I missed something?

oooggs · 28/08/2007 19:27

not really Katy - just three delightful children on my own (haven't done it for a while as dh has been on leave!!!)

leakyR · 28/08/2007 20:11

Just been crying watching Rhys Jones' parents and brother at Anfield.Cried in car yesterday when I heard them on the radio. Can't begin to imagine how they feel. It's a horrible world sometimes

Norma I have emailed you about meeting up. Basically can you do tomorrow? I'm away a lot after this Friday for the next 2 weeks. Have got car tomorrow so WR is doable.

normabutty · 28/08/2007 20:37

Have replied Leaky!!!

geordiemacminx · 28/08/2007 21:13

hey ladies'

have manged to catch up after being away but have no chance of remembering anything.

Hair falling out by the handful here too - not helped by C pulling it at every opportunity.

Glad you feeling better katy.

Leaky - i just sobbed at the football too, I think once you have kids it affects you more - the reality tat he was someones little boy, just like my little boy really hit me.

We had a nice weekend down at mums, came home on sunday and went across to edinburgh yesterday. C was hungry as we were walking back to the car so ended up feeding him as we walked along Princes Street with a muslin drapped over him,...most amusing - I'm sure there was a few people that thought i was part of the festival!!

Who is the best person to speak to re Mei Tais btw?

elkiedee · 28/08/2007 21:21

Katy, glad to see you back.

Kneehigh, sorry to hear about the sleep problems, and also to hear that several of you are finding it tough.

D is asleep now (touch wood) but going out of the house for a lot of the day has gone from being something I find helpful rather than moping, to the only way that D stops crying even when fed and in clean nappies. Also he sleeps in the pram and on bus journeys. I had to walk him round the block while dp ate his tea (after I'd had mine) before we started the bedtime routine. I'm pretty sure it's teething but I'm finding it a bit tough - I can't even find a quiet moment to make phone calls.

EllieK · 28/08/2007 21:23

what do you want to know GMM?

OP posts:
weeonion · 28/08/2007 21:27

gmm - good to have you back. u ok for 2morro - r u gonna drive?

normabutty · 28/08/2007 21:28

Blimey, it's quiet on MN tonight. I've had to entertain myself with the mangoes thread

Off to do some studying now, might be on later...

geordiemacminx · 28/08/2007 21:31

Yeah WO think I am going to drive - too much of a wimp to struggle with the train - should be ok - you gonna be there for 1?

Ellie - I used to have a wilkinet but I hated it as the straps must havebeen 6 foo long- it looked hideously complicated and not at all do-able for the times when I would use a sling - i.e popping into the shops and such like. I bought a mamas and papas baby bjorn type carrier but C doesnt really like it that much, and his face always seems to be squashed against the buckles. Plus the heavier it gets the more uncomfortable it is. Been looking at slings and such like but dont really know where to start - dont want to spend a fortune on something that I will never get the hang of. Plus I want something cool looking...

geordiemacminx · 28/08/2007 21:31

You not watching the match norma?

normabutty · 28/08/2007 21:36

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo, didn't know it was on

EllieK · 28/08/2007 21:37
