Thought I'd start a thread to give somewhere for Jem, Washersaurus and Bresha to discuss their little ones and make all those of us waiting impatiently jealous!

Who will be next??????

'she was' not 'it was'

GillL · 07/11/2007 15:28

Had a nice relaxing day. Before ds came along, when I was pg I never thought I'd say that having dd all day was relaxing I did 30 mins exercise - cardiobox (a bit like kick boxing) - it was good fun. Dd decided she was going to help me doing the kicks. We made some lunch together which we ate at the park and then played on the swings and went for a walk. It was nice not to have to plan everthing around feeds and sleep but I did miss ds lots.

We're going the photo route for xmas pressies too. Got a nice frame from Sainsburys with my nectar points so it didn't cost me a penny.

Sorry to hear you're having a bad time pink. Did you decide to take the ADs in the end? Echo what the others say about getting your dh some info about PND and telling him to get down the shops himself.

tasha21 · 07/11/2007 15:49

pink- thats terrible iagree with the others. men!!
that sounds good gillL.
just got rid of ds1 for a couple of hours he was driving me nuts 3 times i had to clean sudocrem, shampoo, talc, toothpaste, baby lotion off the floor, door, walls, bath, toilet and sink
we went for a walk to the post office and ds1 insisted on picking up every leaf in his path so i currently have a buggie filled with leaves and ive got no cleaning/tidying done and dp will be home at 5 asking wat i done all day
i couldn't be bothered hes gonna say it either way as tornado ds2 will have fun messing wat i tidy.
got a couple of different shaped dummies to try with ds3 youd think somebody would have invented one for babies with cleft lip/palate

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/11/2007 15:58

Sounds good, Gill!

Tasha, it might be an idea to try guiding your ds's fingers to his mouth rather than giving him a dummy. I'm not against dummies at all, I have several for James but he prefers his fingers and the great thing is he can never lose them. I just thought that if dummies won't stay in, his fingers would even despite the cleft palate.

Bah, still got nothing done, I have my Dad coming over for dinner and I need to go to the shop, have a shower and get tidied up but I've got no chance because J won't sleep, he just wants to play- which is lovely but dp will be home in 40 min asking what I've done all day, same as Tasha's!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/11/2007 16:00

Sod it, I'm sticking him in front of cbeebies.

tasha21 · 07/11/2007 16:04

james- ive tried the fingers thing but he isn't catching on im still trying. when i give him a dummie he looks so content and satisfied and then it comes out i feel so bad for him.
im gonna make a list of wat i done today and how many times i actually did tidy the house and when he asks ill hand him it then ask him wat he done all day

tasha21 · 07/11/2007 16:05

2 sleeping babies!!yay
now ive no excuse.

pinkrangernowwobbles · 07/11/2007 16:09

JAmes - ds2 is also in front of cbeebies at the mo

lizziemun · 07/11/2007 16:45

I haven't posted for a while, I lurk and read the have to something for DD1 or 2 then forget what i was doing.

I am asking Father Christmas for a new memory, as mine has gone AWOL .

Pink i'm sorry you are having a hard time with PND i had with dd1. Have you found any coping strageries (sp) which work for you. I found making sure i was up and dressed and out of the house by 9am also found making list of what i needed to do then broke them down into days of the week to do them.

Banana you paintings are realy good.

I was just thinking earlier when noticed a july 08 thread that within weeks there will be an August 08 thread. Is it realy nearly a year ago we found out we were pregnant .

pinkrangernowwobbles · 07/11/2007 16:58

Thanks ladies, seems half of our dh/dp are bloody useless!
good tip about the list , theres always thing i need to do and never get round to it and then stress that i haven't done it!

Banana - will def have a picture/pianting form you in the next few months when i can get a decent one of the boys.

Cant belive it was a year ago, just searched the threads and Sunday 17th Dec i got my BFP - seems so soooooo long ago now!

Hersetta · 07/11/2007 20:11

Ooh pink - I got mine on Dec 16th.

DH and I were talking earlier that it's almost a year since our last minute splurge trip to New york (went mad and got first class tickets in a sale) but arrived in NY so rested and full of energy that we conceived DD . Thought of telling the airline (Eos) in the hope that they might give us free tickets.

Picked up the photos of Caitlin from the photograghers yesterday and the photographer asked as they were so nice could they use them for promotional purposes. Cue proud Mummy moment. He also gave us some free photos and a calendar he had made with our photos so at least we got something for it.

loler · 07/11/2007 21:02

I got mine 23 december - that was the first one that I didn't beleive, didn't tell dh until the 24th after 5 more tests! In some ways it seems years ago as so much has happened in the last year in other ways it feels like yesterday!

Hersetta - you'll have to scan a photo in so we can see too!

Had a awful sickness bug all day today - have just stopped throwing up. Come on to ask if anyone knows if ds2 will be ok bfing still - his last nappy was bright green (sorry if tmi!) and worried he's not getting any milk. Also worried about making up a bottle incase get sick bugs into it! Not feeling very rational at the moment!

DH home from eygpt tomorrow can't wait!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/11/2007 23:24

I found out I was pregnant on the 22nd december- a total accident( but not a mistake!!) I had no idea for weeks as my cycle was never regular. Only after about nine or so weeks of no period did I start to think about doing a test. It ate away at me until (feeling daft) I caved in, bought a test at lunchtime and did it in the toilets at work. I must have sat there gobsmacked and shaking for a good 20 minutes when I got the positive result! Suddenly the weeks of "travel sickness" all made sense...

I met dp after work in starbucks of all places, and blurted it out over a gingerbread latte, then promptly burst into tears. Then I did another test in their toilet which obviously also said positive, and we sat there, pale and shaking and panicking to high heaven!

tasha21 · 07/11/2007 23:37

i found out i was pregnent in february

stigofthedump · 07/11/2007 23:55

Tasha and James get to bed. I found out I was pregnant in the middle of december, dp was in shock for a few weeks. And I went into denial about the trickery of having 2 small ones. Now I can no longer deceive myself. Tasha, I've no idea how you do it, youre doing a bloody good job.

shrinkingsagpuss · 08/11/2007 08:46

I found out i was pregnant exactly when my period was due!!
Then got appendicitis at 9 weeks, just as I was about to tell work I was pg!

My2Weegirls · 08/11/2007 09:12

i found out the 1st dec (when my period was due). then a few weeks later they thought that i had an ectopic pregnancy (so had lots of checks and scans before xmas - best one was the friday before xmas whwn they said they saw a heartbeat) - obviously it wasn't as i've got another cheeky, smiley, gorgeous, determined wee girl

tasha21 · 08/11/2007 11:46

morning all, thats terrible wy2weegirls im sure that was a rollercoaster.
and you shrinkingsagpuss. i had a prety straightforward pregnancy they just had to watch me closer because of his cleft but i enjoyed all the extra scans and a 4d scan and then there was the prem thing but think that was down to stress had alot going on at the time.
think ill go christmas shopping in belfast today.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/11/2007 12:20

Jut got back from taking James for his second lot of jabs. Bless him, he's really good, he didn't cry with the first one, and only whinged for a moment on the second. He's flat out asleep in his pushchair now, hope he's not feeling too bad later.

What's everyone up to this miserable grey thursday then?

My2Weegirls · 08/11/2007 12:28

it's sunny here (for now) - we're just off out for a walk. i found DD2 to be a bit grisly with her 2nd jabs so make sure you've the calpol at the ready!

tasha - it was a bit of rollercoaster - but best xmas pressie seeing heartbeat

tasha - i was in belfast about 4 years ago for a meeting (the centre of town looked lovely). it was a nightmare trip though - i was flying from edinburgh and 2 colleagues from glasgow - my plane was delayed as there was snow on the wings at liverpool, only one of my colleagues made it to belfast as the other was last to check in and the plane was overbooked. no-one from england or wales made it because of the snow so it was just scotland and ireland represented - my colleague who made it had to leave at lunchtime - my flight wasn't until 5pm but was delayed until 11pm. so i didn't get home until after midnight (only plus was that it was good for the flexi time!)

GillL · 08/11/2007 13:06

Dd had me up in the night for over an hour. She woke up screaming at 3am and was upset for ages. I finally persuaded her to go back to bed just after 4. I don't know how she didn't wake ds up as she was crying very loudly for ages in our bedroom.

Did some shopping this morning banana. Ds was an absolute angel. He slept some of the time but most of the time he was quite content in the buggy (unlike his sister who always hated being in the buggy). Got some xmas pressies. I got some nice things in the cheap shops. I find you can get some good stuff if you're selective. Also got 2 photo frames for the price of 1 with my Boots points which will do nicely for the great grandparents.

loler - I'm no expert (obviously) but I do read a lot of the feeding threads and I'm sure you're supposed to bf even when you're ill because your body passes antibodies to the baby through your milk.

You lot have good memories! I have no idea what date I got my BFP. DH and I were trying anyway so I tested a few days after my missed period in November.

Off to the clinic soon to get ds weighed as we haven't been for 2 weeks. Hope you have a nice walk my2weegirls.

My2Weegirls · 08/11/2007 15:04

it's very quiet on here lately!

well it was sunny but with the wind it was baltic! even the swans and the ducks looked as though they were shivering

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/11/2007 15:19

He seems ok so far but I do have some calpol at the ready in case he's feeling poorly later. Forgot my red book twice now so they didn't tell me ds's weight but I think the scales said 6.682kg, which works out at 14.72lb, so he's finally double his birthweight. Go James! The hv took the mickey out of his lack of hair (she's lovely) and I noticed just how much he's rubbed it all off at the back! He has a pelmet of hair around the base of his head, and fluff on top and that's it! Hope he doens't take after me, I was bald til I was about three.

The new pushchair just arrived, I managed to put it together myself despite some misleading instructions with diagrams of some other pushchair with different levers and knobs (whyn do they always do that??) It seems lovely and zippy and easy to fold/use, so I'm quite chuffed!

GillL · 08/11/2007 15:42

Ds is now 14lb 11oz but not quite double his birth weight. Another 9oz to go. Probably won't be getting him weighed again until next year though as I'll be back to full time work in 2 weeks and have no holiday left.

He's not lost any hair yet. He's had a full head of hair since birth and hasnt rubbed any off. Probably won't be long til he needs a hair cut - his fringe at least. Dd had her first at about 8 months and she had shorter hair at birth.

He properly laughed for the first time yesterday I didn't even do anything other than put him in the bath. He seems to love bath time and kicks so hard that he soaks the bathroom floor. Dd loves getting in the bath with him so that saves time for me. I was worried at first about him getting cold but I can get him washed and then dd washed and he's perfectly happy.

tasha21 · 08/11/2007 17:12

that seems like a pretty hectic visit my2weegirls. well i got loads of pressies think i have ds1 finished. and just a couple more things for dss23.
