Evening all, finally got the house back to ourselves here! Has been a mad week!

with the weather, it has poured down today. We went shopping in Leeds (not that we bought anything ) and then our friend caught his train home. We then went to visit a couple of friends nearby. They'd bought Erin some bodysuit things, which is v kind of them.

SOKL - glad you had a nice time with your parents.

Elkie - glad you got your bookcase!

Octo - hope the party went ok.

Feel very reading Misdee's thread.

Hi to everyone else.

octo · 15/07/2007 19:31

Hello all - have wine - 20 mad 6 year old boys ... aargghhh! It went suprisingly well though I thought - ds2 had the biggest wobbly ever when he didn;t win sleeping lions though Another mum said she thought it was good - the last party she did they ahd a massive food fight

MIL had emergency op - in recovery - waiting to hear what has happened. will post later xxx

Katy44 · 15/07/2007 19:55

Hope she is OK
at sleeping lions!

Hi everyone, octo hope MIL is ok

Just eating dinner, far too late really.

Been planning my day tomorrow, gonna be a long one

oooggswartsexpress · 15/07/2007 20:31

could be fun - love a good graduation

WestCountryLass · 15/07/2007 20:32

Glad your party went well Octo, the birthday boy/girl has to have a strop at their party, those are the rules! Food fights must be the new thing, the organiser at the gym said the party before totally traashed the place before our party

I am another fan of the reusable nappy conversations, it is like listening to a foreign language - fascinating!

We have had another day of it, DD opened her pressies from her party this morning, I took one back today, we then went to inlaws for a roast and when we got back I had to take DS to a party. My house is a shit hole! DH managed to feed DD and give her a bath but he didn't bother with anything else. I have left it as is and will have to have a good tidy/clean tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

another quiet day here, but I think we needed that. The nice surprise of the day was my cousin Dom ringing up saying he was in London and could he drop by and meet Danny? So he and my beloved aunt Anna came round for a little while, much too short a time but I really appreciated the visit and was thrilled to see him. He was probably the cousin I knew least well as a kid, as he's 10 years older, but he lives near Boston in the US and on holiday there 6 years ago staying with other friends in the area we spent several really nice days with him, his wife and 3 sons. Can't believe that was so long ago.

Otherwise, spent lots of time with Danny and a blissful chunk of time while baby was asleep with my head in a novel by one of my favourite writers. I need reading time the way some people need sleep, and get quite cranky without it, and there isn't a tube journey and a lunch break from this job.

Sleeping lions - what's that? Maybe you should suggest your ds practises for next time (as a ruse for peace and quiet).

Katy44 · 15/07/2007 21:13

elkie I know what you mean about the reading, I don't feel like I've had any time to myself if I haven't had a chance to read, luckily I can do it when DH is watching TV and T is in bed. With all that's been happening recently though I'm still on the book I was reading last weekend - unheard of for me usually, even with a baby
Love the new name oooggs, even a HP-ignoramus like me got that one!

Katy44 · 15/07/2007 21:13

Can I just say before I sound really intellectual that I read trash - I don't usually get War and Peace type books read in a week!

Sexonknackeredlegs · 15/07/2007 21:26

Hiya loves.

So so quiet on here still.

Sorry to be naive, where is misdees post?

octo · 15/07/2007 21:37

have read the thread about misdee - poor thing - what a nightmare.

no news on mil yet - she hasn't gone into recovery yet as thought - still in op.

JoMa · 15/07/2007 21:39

this is the thread about misdee's dh

Sexonknackeredlegs · 15/07/2007 21:43

Thanks JoMa. Have just had a read - incredibly sad. Cannot even begin to think how she is feeling.

Octo, really sorry to hear about your mil. Fingers crossed for her.

Katy44 · 15/07/2007 22:17

hi everyone and goodnight x

elkiedee · 15/07/2007 22:23

Katy, I mostly read series crime novels, but I'd say there are some excellent writers making a positive choice to write in this genre. I also read chicklit (looking forward to reading Shopaholic and Baby at some point, but might need to renew a library card to make an online reservation), and other popular fiction. I do read more serious novels and some pretty heavyweight non-fiction, though have to admit not since I got pregnant. I think 19th century novels are best read gradually with something less hefty on the go at the same time, at the moment War and Peace would probably take me about 3 months to read on its own.

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 15/07/2007 22:41

i don't read much, i like to read a book start to finish without ooking up IYSWIM!!! Dh gets very annoyed on hols! (Or used to pre DC )

i've asked dh to make up tomorrows bottles (i have done practically all of ds's bottles since birth) and he said a grudging yes. He has put them together, filled them with water and they are now sitting on the side NEED TO ADD FORMULA DUMBASS Gonna leave them and see if he decides to do it, good grief!!!!!!!

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 15/07/2007 22:42

LOOKING up not ooking, now i'm the dumbass!!!!

normabutty · 15/07/2007 22:47

Hey Eddas...we just make bottles up with water and add the formula when needed (then it doesn't need warmed)...thanks to OOOggs & whoever else it was that suggested it
