Hi everyone! It's been ages and I see everyone must be a bit lethargic, too. We're very quiet nowadays.
Congrats to everyone expecting their 2nd or 3rd. Well done!
We're back in the same old routine with DD at school and DS now 15 and a half months old and still getting up at 5.30am. Arrrgh.
But sooo cute!

BTW, does anyone have probs with 'nipping'? (Where they pinch your flesh repeatedly, especially when trying to get off to sleep) God, it hurts!

Also (sorry for the whine) but he's started to suck his bottom lip. And I mean, all day long. Is it weird or what?

DD has started playing with ther belly button whenever she can get her hands on it. V embarrassing in public. My Mum reckons it's just something kids go through and grow out of, apparently I did weird things too when I was small...didn't ask for any further details...just took her word for it!!!

Rachel - know what you mean about LO taking your dinner. DD is more interested in ours, so we end up eating hers! (It's all the same food, but I guess it always looks yummier on someone elses plate...)

Poor mite has got a cough and cold but is being pretty brave. I'm not sleeping properly despite being shattered and am now feeling a bit queasy. I'm being so snappy at the mo that I feel sorry for everyone who comes into contact with me! Am getting quite worried how I'll cope with DD when I'm even more sleep deprived next year.

ds loves to cluck his tongue in his cheek and has a random pull of his willie back and forward but no serious annoying habits as yet.. I can hardly talk as I still suck my thumb

He is getting v. good at feeding himself so mealtimes have gotten messy again as I hose down the highchair following a self feed yoghurt session.

ds has cold too and having to have his eyes bathed daily due to lovely crusty gunk.

Its what you would call a 'bracing' day here so we're off for an early Autumn walk.

Hi all, Great to hear that everyone's doing well and getting along with 'next' pregnancies. I've had a weird month - parents in law have been away to Canada on hol for just about all of September, so I've had to take loads of days of to cover childcare as normally MIL has kids on a Wednesday and will cover days when we're both working. I have come to conclusion that I really admire SAHM's! I'm knackered and looking forward to getting back into a regular (out of the house) work routine again!

DD has 6-8 oz of milk in a bottle at bedtime, and [sigh] still wakes up at some unearthly hour between 4-6 am normally, when she has 4oz. I'm trying to cut that down though in the hope I can phase it out. Difficulty is that if she kicks up a stink at 4am she is likely to wake up DS as they share a room.

Oh the colds have really hit here too. My BIL visited on the weekend and gave DD a cold, which she has duly shared woth me and DH. It is BIL's wedding on weekend, DH is best man, and DD is a flower girl so as you8 can imagine this cold is NOT a welcome thing!
DD is getting over it a bit now, but is still grizzly and snotty. I'm shattered and a hormonal wreck anyway due to being PG, and now I have a cold that i can't take anything for except paracetamol. Oh the joys.

And to top it all DH has the cold, and he is the grumpiest ill person you ever met. What a happy household we are this week!!!! Beam me up!!!!

Goodness, we must all be realy knackered/ill/busy/stressed/ (delete as appropriate) as no-one's been on here in a week!

The colds disappeared at the end of last week only to reappear yesterday - grrr. DD also getting a couple of teeth a week at the mo, so she's actually coping really well considering. Had my first appt with midwife who has given me the tentative ok for a home birth.

Starting to look forward to Christmas already! (Am I allowed to say that without getting lynched?!) DD will be into it so much more this year, Last year, she did manage to open most of her pressies herself, but it did take 5 days! Still, it may it more enjoyable for us to watch her doing it all week. My pondering this year is - will they stay wrapped if placed under the tree or will I have to hide them?

This thread is very quiet, I suppose our lo's are keeping us all to busy to sit on mumsnet all day. DS is into anything he shouldn't be touching. His best thing is to put his toys in the washing machine, post them through the cat flap, throw them in the bath (full bath or empty it don't matter) Already have one broken mobile from been put in the toilet, nearly lost afew remotes in a full bath.

bloblsmummy - your dd is v. cute and growing up fast!

Its been lurgy city here with dh, ds and me all having caught a viral infection which morphed into a cold and in my case morphed into chest infection requiring antibiotics - not a nice time!

We're all better now and fingers crossed that's us for the winter. I'm going to get my flu jag at hospital next week (free to all staff!).

On the ds front he's finally reached the stage where ds no longer needs a morning nap (even tho' he wakes at 6am most mornings . We're having to rethink our routine as his mn was when I had my shower etc. but it means he goes down earlier for his after lunch nap which doesn't cut into the afternoon so much.

He's such a happy little boy and a typcial one at that - into diggers/tractors and cars. We started mini gym last week and he loved crawling through the tunnel and climbing up the ladders.

He's great with his new cousin and makes a cuddle sign whenever we mention her .

Mitchell - have also discovered items that should definitely NOT be in a washing machine having had a nice wash!

WW - nice to hear from you!

Foxy - am trying to find a gym thing like you mentioned near us, but no joy so far.

DD is actually a real tomboy and loves nothing more than getting outside to do stuff and run around. Luckily we've got the Chatham World Naval Dockyard on our doorstep and you pay once and get in free the rest of the year. They've got a nice indoor soft play centre and a good swing park so DD goes there most weeks. She also loves scrambling over the boats and loves being down in the submarine! We went there at the weekend and she insisted on running aroound by herself, resulting in her falling on her face in the gravel. Poor kid had gravel stuck to her face and blood coming out of her lip, mouth and hand. Still, she's really tough and after a quick cuddle with daddy and a biscuit she was fine - she looks a bit of a mess now though!

hot news here is that for 4 mornings in a row ds has slept until 7.30am!!! I needed the loo at 5am this morning and had the joy of snugglng back in bed and sleeping for another 2.5 hours! I think its the knock on affect of dropping the morning nap.

My skin is clearer, eyes brighter and I'm sure I look slimmer!

Of course the clocks go back on Sat. to muck it all up again but we're enjoying it while it lasts

Gosh it is quiet here indeed! I can understand why, though as everyone who works is pretty much back to a normal life.

DS is a terror! Yes, toys in the washing machine. Yes, everything into the tub. Yes, his hands are everywhere they shouldn't be. He is pulling DD's hair and pinching when he gets angry. Oh my, is the 'terrible two's' rearing it's ugly head already?

I'm not very happy at the moment. Moving house knackered me out and feeling a bit strange and full 'down there' (sorry, TMI) I went to the doctors who promptly proclaimed I had a prolapsed uterus wall! And all stemming way back 10 years from DD's horrid birth.

Now I have to do Kegels like mad all day long so that I don't have to have an operation. It is depressing though. It feels like I'll never feel normal down there again. Even when I stand in a queue for some time it starts bulging down again. He said it'll correct itelf a bit in time but it's downright horrid being a woman at the mo!

oh fay what horrid news. Keep doing those squeezes! I also don't feel the same 'down there' and I had a section! I hate to think how I will look/feel if I manage a VBAC with no.2...

what happened at your dd's birth?

ds's is practising his tanrtum throwing. At the moment he is easily distracted out of it or I get down to his level and explain to him but I'm waiting for the big bust up in Boots - all flailing (sp?) arms and legs.

Well, DD was OC (where she comes facing up) and they didn't assist until the last minute telling me to push to the death. DS was section which was a blessing apparently.

Actually don't overworry. I didn't want to give TMI but by not feeling right it's not just feeling swollen - which is just the beginning though - I also felt something like a golf ball bearing down and almost out. Which is the uterus wall itself! Actually it could've been worse. It could've been the bladder [shudder].

Oh Fay - how horrible! My DH always says he's very grateful he's a bloke!

DD also ramping up a gear when it comes to wanting her own way. She purposefully stamped on my sisters foot yesterday, and bit me twice the day before. She was unceremoniously dumped in her cot and shut in her room for a minute which resulted in many tears, so I'm hoping she got the message that biting me is unacceptable. She's normally such a good girl, but lately those boundaries have really started to be pushed.

Going for my 13 weeks scan today. My clothes are now very uncomfortable but I'm not quite big enough for maternity stuff. All good fun

Hey blobsmummy that's great news! Its a relief to get the 12 week scan under your belt! any feelings whether blob2 is a dd or ds?

DH has driven all the way down to Liverpool tongiht to watch them play and is driving all the wya back up again (mad! - 8 hour round trip) so ds and me are home alone with the wind blowing outside.

I'm off to park myself on the couch and watch girlie programmes .

Starting to think about ds's Christmas, we're getting him a keyboard table and his grannies are getting him a blackboard and Tool table (at the moment anyway).

Foxy - I'm thinknig this one could be a boy, but then I was convinced of that last time and she wasn't! My sister has a 100% accurate record on guessing babies (she's got about 8 babies correct in the past year!) and she's predicting a girl, so she's probably right.

DD is getting a jewellery box (to put all her bracelets and hairclips in!) from us, a dolly and buggy from DH's parents and I'm not sure what my parents are getting. Am trying to decide whether to put pressies under tree before Christmas - it'll be a great temptation for little fingers!

Hello all, glad everyone is Ok. Yet v little action on this thread recently!

I'm feeling Ok generally but the pg hormones are dricing me and my porr DH mad. I'm like a carzy lady, crying at the drop of a hat. Does pre-natal depression exist or would that just be put down to hormones?

RachelPross - pre-natal depression certainly does exist. I think the more research is done into it, the more they are discovering that it affects as many, if not more, women than post-natal depression. I felt horrendous with it whilst I was pg with DD, so you have all my sympathy [hugs]. Although mine was never officially diagnosed (rubbish doctor who believed women should just 'get on with it'), my HV was very understanding.

BTW, it doesn't mean that you'll get it after the birth - I was much better once she was out!

Of course, it could be horrible hormones - I tend to blame an awful lot on them these days! Hope you're feeling happier soon x

Hello Ladies. I 've not been on for ages due to sorting out rubbish builders, poorly DS with eczema taking a turn for worst and the general things us women have to do while working part time and being full time mums! Ahh rant over.

I can't remember if I told you ladies but DS, now 17 months started walking at 15 months. Within 2 weeks of starting he had turned into an olympic sprinter!

He gets more amazing (and challenging) everyday. At the beginning of Oct DS started at new nursery very close to were we moved to. He seems to be enjoying it but he is in a older group than before but I think he is fine. Apart from him while at nursery being off colour, slitting his chin open by falling over and hitting a table and being bitten by another child last week I think he is fine. He also seems to have come on a lot feeding himself but still needs help sometimes and makes a lot of mess.

I would also like to announce I am 4 weeks pregnant and due 30th July 08 according to due date calculators. The pregnancy was planned and I'm excited but trying not to get carried away because it is only early days and anything could happen. Making me feel a little confused. Will probably feel more pregnant when I have my scan as I have had no feelings or symptoms apart from the missed period same as with DS.

Me and DH have had to tell people earlier than we would have because of all the get togethers we have got planned and someone would guess with me not drinking.
