blobsmummy - good luck with the Clomid, I'm sure we'll have a blob2mummy in no time..

Finona - well there's a coincidence - I got myself on facebook last week after drunken lunch with girlfriends who are all on it and me having mega "I'm so past it" anxiety attack. How do I get the mumsnet group? I do think its a bit wanky tbh but I can at least pretend to have my 30something finger on the pulse!

Ds's MMR went OK - I also didn't realise he got another one at the same time. He was fine if a bit clingy and quick to cry all last week but seems right at rain again.

Cot v bed - I'm waiting until he can vault over the cot and sprint whilst still in his grobag before I think about moving him

Talking of anxiety attacks, I'm having one about ds starting nusery in 3 weeks time. We had his Friday place booked for ages but as its geting nearer I'm having second thoughts and feeling v. guilty in a working Mum type way and .

Foxy - do a search for 'mumsnet' under groups and it comes up. You can see real people! It's a closed group, but I just clicked a request to join and got in OK.

Agree it's a bit of nonsense really - my 21 year old cousin who's at uni informed me that he doesn't really use facebook - I told him to put me on a friend so that I didn't look like I had no mates. He's got 200 friends, and I've got 6!!! One of them is DH!!!!! Is this a sad attempt to try to regain my youth - you bet! At least I'm not biting zombies and sending fish yet though

did it Finona thanks!

ds has had a rough few days - he had a slight fever, was off his food and just wanted to sleep. He was so cute on Thurs. we were sitting down to his lunch and he took off his bib, tried to take off his shoes and was pointing at the stairs. I asked if he wanted to go for a nap and he nodded! Poor wee lamb slept for ages and again yesterday. He seems a lot brighter today which is a relief. I wonder if it is a post-MMR thingy

How exciting Rachel . Hope you're feeling well!

DD has come out in a horrible rash all over arms and neck due to MMR, but otherwise was OK. Going to sleep at bedtime has become a bit hit and miss at the mo, sometimes she's taking an hour to settle - bit of a shock after 10 months of 13 hour nighttime sleeping!

DD has also started blowing kisses - so cute!

DD hasn't had MMR yet so I have all this to look forward to....can't wait. She's very good but we've been having etthing problems for moths now and these teeth keep appearing all over the place(even got some right at the back)...and they come thru 4 at a time. she's been in major pain, think we're keeping calprofen in business.
DD is now alsmost walking on her own, she's a one handed wobbler at the moment...occasionally ventruing off on her own and flopping down on her bum every time.

As regards pg no2, I am feeling very well so far. No morning sickness (touch wood), just feeling tired...nothing new with 100 mph DD on my hands all day most days.

Am still working from home so at least i can nap when I need to and make up time later on in the evening.

Congrats Rachelpross ! That's lovely news, an early Spring baby - ahhhh.

blobsmummy ds has also had rash over tummy and back and deffy think its MMR related.

As for teeth - ds has 4 up top and two below and has had them for months with no sign of anymore altho' i thnk one of his top incisors is making its way down..

Have any of you become totally over sensitive to films that contain scenes of child cruelty? I have never been able to stomach hard hitting films at the best of times but we watched 'Blood diamond' on Sat. night about conflict in Sierra Leon and one of the stories was boys being forced to join the 'army' - some as young as 6 - I just had to leave the room and sat bawling my eyes out on the downstairs loo and

If I'm in town with ds and see a baby being handled roughly or spoken to harshly I have to look away and find myself on the verge of tears!

I need to toughen up a bit!

Congratulations Rachelpross! Hope you have a smooth pregnancy.

Re the cot-bed discussion I have been despairing what to do for the past 2 days. I caught - just in time - DS actually throwing a leg over his cot! I had my back to him applying make-up at the mirror and saw him in the reflection. I turned and caught him mid-air just as he toppled! I screamed and he gurgled with joy the rascal.

I don't know what the heck to do about it. A bed has its own issues. He turns so much in his sleep.
He has been lterally climbing walls lately tables, chairs, sofa, he does dangerous stuff. Always wanting to grab things he's very 'hands-on'. Hope he will calm down soon.

Sorry re long post but am at my wits' end.DD wasn't this bad as I recall.

Rachelpross - congratulations! Am from the June 2006 thread too and am due in 3 weeks with DD#2 so am so pleased for you. Wished I'd left it a little longer between babies but sometimes you can't plan these things xxxx

foxymagoo · 12/08/2007 14:16

fay68 - he's a boy - that's testosterone for you!

ds is just as daring - will climb anything given half the chance, has no fear and just loves exploring. He hasn't shown any sign of wanting to high jump over the cot yet. Is you ds in a grobag? That certainly limits their movements - like doing the sack race at school .

Report
blobsmummy · 13/08/2007 11:42

Hi all,

Would echo the grobag. DD can be a little escape artist if she wants to, so the grobag is the only way of keeping her fairly restrained in the cot.

Am doing a bit of overtime at work and taken on a new part-time job for a couple of hours 2 evenings a week, so feeling a bit knackered and down at the mo. Sometimes feel like life is a fairground ride and I want to get off for a little rest! Probably just hormones making me feel low - grrrrr - they have a lot to answer for.

Trinity - how are the birth plans going? Is there anything that you'll be doing differently this time?

Hi all, Blobsmummy - have stuck to the birthplan I had with DD#1. Pethedine to begin with, hopefully an epidural (didn't get that far last time!) with gas and air if I don't get the epidural. Can't believe how fast this pregnancy has flown and that I'm doing it all again so soon! Feel much bigger than last time and am exhausted.

Just hope DD#2 arrives on time and not 8 days overdue like her sister! xxx

I know how you feel about the cot thing because DS (also 13 months) has discovered he can do this, was woken up by a bump when running into his room to find him sat on the floor looking a bit dazed! he tried it again this morning when Daddy was watching him!
The cot bars will go a bit higher so we are doing that tonight and then I have no idea what to do next!!
My Mum said that I was doing the same at this age and I worked out how to get over stair gates aswell!
Am seriously considering taking the bars off aswell

Hello,

DD had a really unsettled night and DH snored for England so am surviving on 4 hours sleep today - don't envy those of you who are about to give birth again!

DD can now get on and off her scooter and is happily demolishing doors/skirting boards/people's legs etc. For the very first time she's got attached to a partucular toy and it's really cute to see her trailing her bunny around!

Passing on all DD's tiny clothes and blankets to my SIL who's due in 4 months - I really can't remember DD being that tiny!

Hope you are all well and that you get a peep of sunshine some point soon

Its sunny here and i'm off all week!

ds has also recently gotten very attached to his 'bedtime bear' he gives it cuddles all day and takes it out whenver we go anywhere. We have a couple of spares stashed away altho' he's no fool and can tell when the original is in the wash!

My SIL is due in 3 weeks and it will be lovely seeing a tiny newbie all over again - without having to do all the night feeds/getting a routine going - oh I remember it well

Hi haven't been on for a while - hope everyone's well. DD is thankfully not looking at all like escaping the cot - she's in a grobag and I intend to keep it that way as long as possible!

She is so sturdy on her feet now - marching about everywhere and has a fair turn of speed. A couple of the other mums at Toddlers aren't far off having their 2nd LO, and they're bemoaning the fact that their 1st (same age as DD) isn't walking yet...enjoy it while you can I say. I don't know why I amn't a size 0 with the amount of running about I do after my 2

Hello, Haven't been on for awhile, just back from holiday in the Algarve. Had a fantastic time in the sun with the family. DS is now walking on his own all the time, so at 14 months he is later than all those early walkers. But we are very impressed with our little boy. Hope everyone is well and thinking about all those who are pregnant, we were going to start trying in September, but will hold off till next year now.

Hi. Not been on for a while been so busy. Having bathroom, kitchen and outbuildings ripped out at the moment. If that isn't bad enough over the last 2 weeks DS has got a big tooth through, another one starting to come through and all the symptoms that go with it. But DS suffers with eczema and during one of his hospital checks the nurse noticed my cold sore and said you haven?t kissed DS or been in direct contact. I looked at her puzzled thinking "DUH" of course. She explained that if a child with eczema catches the cold sore (herpes) virus it can make them very ill. I felt awful at this point, but DS was fine. The appointment was on a Thursday by the Sunday as if overnight DS was ill and his hands, the eczema cracked parts that he puts in his mouth had sores all in them. On the Monday I took DS to nursery because I wasn't sure if I could get an appointment with the nurse. I did and she confirmed it was herpes and of course it?s contagious!!! DS had to have medicine and wear gloves. But it got worse, he wasn't eating, so we took him to the doctors to find he also had ulcers in his mouth and a massive one was on top of his new tooth that was coming through. POOR BOY. He hardly got upset through it all.

DS hands and mouth have cleared up but he has got a massive cold sore so it makes me really nervous. He seems ok but has another tooth coming so he is sleeping a lot.

I have been very sick for a couple of days which seems to have found its way to my DH, mum and dad. Just when I thought I was feeling better I started with diarrhoea.

DS is 14 months and not walking, but into everything. I'm sure he could but just not. However his speech is unbelievable and he's so clever, probably too clever. But that's enough of me being a proud mummy.

oh vbab you've been through the mire! I didn't think a cold sore would transfer and make excema worse - good to know for furutre ref. as ds has mild excema.

ds is still at the babbling stage but did pick up a calculator last week put it to his ear and said "hiya daddy" .

As for his teeth, we are having a major no show regarding any more. He has 4 up top and two bottom but nothing since April! how many teeth have your lo's got in?

SIL is due next week and I'm getting v excited... a new schmoo to stroke and ds will be promoted to 'big boy'!

DS has 4 on the bottom and 4 on the top, been like that for months now.

DS is 14 months. He has had 4 on top and 4 on the bottom for a while. Recently got a bottom "big" tooth through and seems to be getting the one of the other side of his gum through.
