Aw Pesha. Breathe deeply and R-E-L-A-X!

Evening all. Stressful day with F not bloody sleeping at all so by 6.30pm was like a screaming banshee! Makes it worse that dh is working v.late tonight so poor ds didnt get a look in while I tried to calm her. Both in bed sleeping now though so happy ending!

Have just mixed up the beer and marmalade cake from liath I think. Mixture tasted pretty good and it smells gorgeous in the oven. Cant wait to taste it, yum! Anyone want some, can send it via BigOnion if you like! Have also just scribbled down the muffin recipe. Liath are you Nigella in disguise?!

JoMa, I downloaded the messenger thing but how the hell do I use it? Are there talk boards or something?

liath · 06/07/2007 21:18

pesha but hats off to exemplary use of the word "cock"

BTW according to the recipe you're supposed to wrap beer and marmalade cake in foil for 24 hours before eating it!!!! Aye, right .

Have had a glass of vino but ds is fast asleep on me so don't want to go to the fridge for another and disturb him.

mammyjo · 06/07/2007 21:22

24 hours! I cant wait that long! It will be lucky to cool properly before I cut it for a large slice!!
Wine here too, rather delicious rose which I wouldnt normally drink. Liath, shall I pour you one, save you getting up!

Pesha · 06/07/2007 21:33

thank you have glass of wine and feeling calmer now! although dp keeps on at me to pack as D has just fallen asleep.

Liath - somehow cock is a very satisfying swear word tom use i find! And i have had some beer marmalade cake wrapped in foil for 24 hours to give to my dad tomorrow!! my bit of cake was eaten in about 6nhours

have to go pack

mammyjo · 06/07/2007 21:33

Liath, is it meant to be kind of cracked on the top and a bit gooey in the middle? I mean the cake just in case anyone wonders!

mammyjo · 06/07/2007 21:34

Oh god maybe I didnt cook it enough. It was in for an hour though. If I left it any longer the top would get burnt.

mammyjo · 06/07/2007 21:34

Hey Pesha, glad you are feeling calmer

liath · 06/07/2007 21:38

Mmm, rose sounds yummy.

Not sure about it being gooey but it'll taste fine I expect.

mammyjo · 06/07/2007 21:40

Prob needs to cool a bit, I just stuck a knife in to check it when I took it out of the oven. My kitchen smells fantastic now!
The rose is lovely, it is an Echo Falls wine which was on offer for £4 in tescos today. Wouldnt normally drink rose but is delicious. Have just poured another glass and have alcohol induced red cheeks!
