Will the loose skin ever go away? :(

I'm nearly 11 months postpartum and still have the overhang bulge on stomach. Sad it's so depressing. Before anyone judges, I had my first dc just under 11 years ago, and got my tummy/figure back straight away. Was a gymnast/dancer since I was young, so used to have very taut, toned skin
This time though, I put on a lot of weight. Managed to lose that quickly within three months I d say, however this loose skin is still there

I dunno how else to describe it? It's like a bulge and hangs down and all my stomach/waist isn't rtght or taut. I just wanna know if there's any hope it will go back, has anyone had experience? It's not so much weight loss cos I'm back to my pre pregnancy size which was size 10, sometimes size 12 for trousers because of big hips!!

So I don't think weight loss can do any good. Is there anything else I could do to help apart from surgery I really don't want that

I have the exact same problem - after my first I went back to ‘normal’ and his time I have a weird stomach flap.

There was only 2 years between my two. The only difference I have is my second was bigger and was a c section and my first was a v birth - do you think this made the difference?

I too am back to a size 10 but my belly looks awful and my clothes (I liked fitted clothes) really don’t suit me now :(

Take care - it’s knocked my confidence tbh x

Have a look into dermaroller / skin microneedling. It's excellent for collagen formation and you can give it a go yourself or a lot of clinics do it, and it's not very expensive compared to surgery, not particularly invasive and very effective.

Probably not what you want to hear but I had twins by c section 8 years ago and my tummy has never recovered.
I was a perfectly toned size 8. I don’t need to lose weight at all but I’ve gone up to a 10-12 dress size and I’ve changed the way I dress to cover my stomach. I still look 4 months pregnant.
It’s a bit depressing but I’m fit and healthy and I had twins after IVF so... frankly I’m counting my blessings.
When it comes to holidays and wearing swimwear I do sometimes consider a tummy tuck. I would never go through with it but the swimwear thing is the worst! Nothing looks good anymore.
I’ve just embraced it really, choose clothes carefully and be grateful that I’m still slim everywhere else and I’m quite tall so really can’t complain. If you’re still slim and you were a dancer I bet you look fab.

@Chosenbyyou

Feel for you Hun Sad that's the same as me it's really knocked my confidence back. Horrible isn't it?

I can't be sure because I had Vaginal birth with both and was classed as precipitate labour I think cos they were both 4 hours!!! But I have heard many people say c sections can ruin the stomach. Not sure why mine is this bad. Guess we'll just have to make do Sad

@mammmamia

Wow you've done amazing to have twins! I always wanted twins but then admire those that do , did you work out afterwards?

I know it's a long shot so I probably know there's not much you can do, sometimes you hear of women having three or four kids n their tummies ping back! I read it could be genes related too like stretch marks

Just to add I've also read on other forums a link to c-sections and this loose skin but I had vaginal births both times! And they were fast labours too (not sure if that matters anyway) but both times midwives commented on my "strong female muscles" because I was fast giving birth and uterus went back within a week so not sure where this loose skin bulge thing has come from! Think I'm just more frustrated that first time I got it back straight away n this time no hope!
