Vitamin D!

My baby is nearly 4 months old, and last time the health visitor was here I asked about giving her vitamin D as I am breastfeeding. She said I don’t need to give her any as I’m taking pregnacare for breastfeeding so she will be getting it through me? Is this right? Looking on NHS the guidance seems to be to give them drops. Just want to see what others are doing as my HV is just so laid back it makes me wonder Hmm

My hv said to both take vit d myself and give baby drops which surprised me as she was born in midsummer and I thought it was only recommended between October and March as babies get inderect sunlight. I'm a radiographer so know about importance of vitamin d for bone growth but as I'm white I know I'm getting lots of vit d from the sun, being on maternity leave. The issue is rickets is on the increase due to darker skin, mums and babies covering up and staying indoors more than they used to with understanding about the risks of sunburn. I give drops as there's no harm but not sure how nessersary it is in the summer. But d helps with mood as well as bones so I give it midfeed and she quite enjoys it.
