Anyone fancy a bit of postnatal weightloss support? Only just starting to really try (6 week check approaching) and can't go too crazy with the dieting as breastfeeding, but hoping for a slow and steady return to previous weight. Let's work on those cringe post baby bods!

Anyone fancy this? No worries if there's no call for it, will delete if that's the case x

Hi! I’m with you. I was very disappointed by how much weight I lost when I had the baby. I lost 7kg in 2 weeks after but have another 8kg to return to my pre baby weight.

How about you?!

rainbowrosepetal · 24/08/2018 05:52

Count me in too!

Bumblealong1 · 24/08/2018 08:22

Obviously weight loss is not my overriding priority! Happy to chat and share other challenges. Any one else a first time mum?

lmx0 · 24/08/2018 19:38

Hello im a FTM to a LG who is 3 weeks 3days old not worrying about weight loss at (which is prob a bad/good thing as all i wanna do is eat atm!) i am combi feeding and always up for a natter!! 😊

Bumblealong1 · 24/08/2018 22:50

@lmx0 congratulations on your little girl.
So, you are combo feeding - Can I ask what made you go down that path? I am breastfeeding only but I do feel that the benefits of combi feeding are never explained to Mums. I’m thinking about it..

lmx0 · 24/08/2018 23:35

@Bumblealong1 i started with one bottle at night (bedtime) as i felt she was a bit unsettled and she was cluster-feeding like mad at night (still does) so i felt come bed time she wasnt getting enough and she has been sleeping 10/11 till 4/5/6 from very early on in fact i was having to wake her through the night to feed her as she lost 8% of her body weight and didnt want her losing anymore but since shes over that now i let her tell me she also get a lunch time bottle now too as she is now cluster feeding in the mornings now as well as evenings i also wanted to combi feed to give myself that little bit of freedom if needed or wanted which cane in handy as i had to leave her a couple of times this week due to emergencies only problem was my boobs but at least she was happy to take bottle hope that helps a bit and sorry its long!! 😂

lmx0 · 24/08/2018 23:40

@Bumblealong1 i 100% agree no one ever seems to talk about combo feeding i certainly never had a health care professional talk to me about it and when i had mentioned it i was told that its not recommended until after 6 weeks when bf is established however when i had the mw come out when i got home she said if i felt she needed topped up with a bottle do it but to warned some HV & MW dont agree with it also its been handy as there have been a few times ive been that exhausted ive either dosed off while feeding or been too tired to feed so DH gave bottle while i slept

Morning all, just come across this thread. Had my baby at the beginning of July and he is 8 weeks today! Where has that gone!
I really need to get my arse in gear and shift some weight as it’s getting to me now. My 4 year old even said my belly is still fat even though there isn’t a baby there anymore Blush

lmx0 · 28/08/2018 07:56

Children can be lovely little beings cant they!!! My lg was only about a week old when my younger brother and sister came to visit and my brother who is 9 announced i still had a big fat belly thanks child

MarmaLaid · 28/08/2018 09:09

Nothing like the honesty of a child to make me do something about it though Grin

sittingonacornflake · 28/08/2018 09:26

Why good morning!

Please may I join?

I had my baby in February 2018 but baby's dad has just left us so looking to a) lose weight and b) keep my mind off everything that's been going on.

So baby is EBF but we have started weaning now so baby is eating little bits. This is already making me much healthier because I'm so mindful of what I'm cooking so baby can have it!

Weight wise. Sigh. I was a tubby one before I had my baby (my BMI was 35 on booking in!) so I don't have a 'get back to pre baby weight plan' I have a 'get back to pre 20's weight plan'! It's going well so far. I think EBF helps massively with burning calories. My BMI is now down to 30 but I'm aiming to get it right down to 25!

Thanks for starting this thread.

Hello ladies. Congratulations on your babies. Please can I join too? DS was born on 6 July. I am up for general chat and also a kick up the backside re weightloss. Currently at the heaviest I have ever been (sob) with 2 stone to get to my ideal weight. DS is my second and it was so much easier first time around. DD was little and I had dreadful morning sickness virtually every day the whole way through so once she was out I hadn’t put weight on. Not so this time. I am obviously glad he was bigger as establishing feeding was a lot less stressful (he is a gobbler) but hating my body right now. I’ve been doing Weight Watchers for a couple of weeks but not a pound shifted yet..arrrrrgggghhh

KTD27 · 03/09/2018 13:46

I’d like to join too!
My second baby is fast asleep on me at 8 weeks old and suffering with silent reflux which is KILLING ME. Along with my amazingly crazy toddler I’m pretty tired and reaching for the biscuits under the excuse of breastfeeding ...
I have 7 stone to lose. There I typed it. Can’t believe it’s that much. I’d be happy with 5. Still seems insurmountable. I’ve managed to lose weight successfully twice. Once with Ww and once with low carbing, I plan on tracking calories as it’s the only sustainable way to do this long term I feel. I don’t want my little girl to grow up with hang ups about diet or body image I’m so determined to do this for her.
So onwards we go!

StinkySaurus · 10/09/2018 08:52

My baby is a bit older... 6 months but I have a stone to lose would love to join. In my mind I don’t really have time to excercise ( I prioritise sleep!) but I can definitely improve my diet.... need some motivation!!!!!

lmx0 · 10/09/2018 12:02

Welcome newbies!! I hear yous all babies no matter their age are demanding little sods aren't they hence reaching to the bad stuff esp if you haven't been allowed to eat!! I had used breastfeeding as an excuse but cant do that now ive had to stop so now need to think about cutting the crap and losing the stones!! How are you ladies doing it? Or planning on doing it?

StinkySaurus · 10/09/2018 13:46

@Imx0 I have no idea!!!!!! I was thinking I won’t have cake when I meet up with people...... small steps....

How about you? Got any tips?

lmx0 · 10/09/2018 14:32

Thats a good start!! Cut back on takeaways has to be a start for me way too many has been had for too long!!

StinkySaurus · 10/09/2018 18:39

I find it tough to not reach for the sugary stuff as sleep is pretty hard to come by atm!

lmx0 · 10/09/2018 23:24

Its so hard isnt it i find when i am starving i would just eat what i can get my hands on eps if little miss has been hard work that day then of course theres the little treats cause it has been a rough day i really just shouldnt buy them should i lol

MamamamaT · 27/11/2018 21:42

Whoops I started this thread and then totally forgot Blush don't get notifications, will have to check that out. How is everyone doing? I've made a fair amount of progress but it's incredibly slow! Getting harder as the season of indulgence approaches... How about everyone else? Smile
