Hi all, I'm looking for some advice with breastfeeding, I'm really wanting to dual feed at the moment my dd is 4 days old currently taking from a bottle and me both expressed milk and formula..feeding is sore for me I don't think she's latching properly as my nipples are extremely painful it's like her mouth isn't big enough for more than nipples I've tried different positions and aiming and lining up and everything I can find but she won't accept anything but nipple 😩 I don't want to give up but I'm in so much pain. I have a 3 year old aswell so I don't want to take up all my time by ebf as it's just us and I don't want my ds to feel pushed out.

Contact a lactation consultant for advice re latch.

Newborn feed A LOT in the first weeks so a lot of time will be taken doing that :( I feel your pain as I have a nearly 3yr old and it's so tough. Would recommend local bf support group - nct should have a local one. It's so useful to get 1 on 1 help x

Is your milk in? My ds in two weeks today and from day five the nippple soreness reduced as the milk came in so he fed less often and for longer on each occasion. It was a relief!
I also used nipple cream the first week and it really helped.
Congrats on baby!
