Wilkie · 13/05/2007 15:47

2Happy!!! WELCOME BACK I'VE MISSED YOU How is DS1 sleeping in the big boys bed??

Well laides, I am very very proud of my little man. I have put Dirty Dancing on and he is switching between being transfixed to the TV and thrashing his arms and legs in excitement when the music comes on.

It is p*ssing it down here - how depressing. DH is at work all day (again) and I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bored

OP posts:
Lizzzombie · 13/05/2007 15:50

If you are THAT bored why are you not on msn young lady?!

2Happy · 13/05/2007 15:52

yooohoooo!! Wilkie!!!

ds1's hit a bit of a plateau - he doesn't get out of bed any more, but he will lie and talk/sing to himself for HOURS before going to sleep, so is still mega-overtired and whingy and clingy all day. Aside from drugging him (and believe me I've been close) there's nothing I can do. Still, he's just had and hour and a half nap now, so maybe he'll be a bit happier this afternoon.

Dirty Dancing, huh? The boy's got taste... Now Iiiiii've haaaad the time of my liiiiiiiiife. ds1 went through an ABBA phase not long ago, it was great fun, dancing away to Gimme Gimme Gimme lol! When's dh back?

ellieandhattie · 13/05/2007 15:56

Hello just a quick post as at IL'S we had roast chicken, stuffing, roast potatos, carrots, peas, sweede and broccoli for lunch and cherry pie and custard or roulade for pudding. Ellie ate all of hers with minimal fuss hurrah!!

Just going to blend some veg up for Hatties tea and we are doing baths here as dh is west ham fan and fil is man u fan so they are watching that. Hattie is being entertained by mil and ellie watching dvd so its quite peaceful.

2happy welcome back I missed you but had seen you signing in msn so knew you were ok Wilkie I know that bored feeling so well that'll be the next 3 weekends as dh will be working. J has fab taste in films (se my profile re dirty dancing) you must try him with 'Cocktail' next.

Right better go as been up here ages listing stuff on ebay

Wilkie · 13/05/2007 16:05

J had parsnip for lunch and luuurrvvvvveees it. Is there nothing this boy likes???? Trying to decide what next. When can I start giving yoghurts and stuff or should I just stick with purees??????

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 13/05/2007 16:21

I want a hug

Mmm, parsnip, Wilkie, yum, mine are just about to go in the oven, and, pardon the pun, I think I've cracked the crackling. Hurray! Stuff never crackles properly but I turned it up to maximum and I think it;s worked.
Not sure when they can have yoghurt, maybe they're not meant to have it while on formula? Yoghurts not the same as milk though is it, as the proteins are digested by the bacteria or something. I think you're just meant to try things slowly in case it doesn't agree with them.

Hello 2happy!

MrsCarrot · 13/05/2007 16:31

just checked and yoghurt/butter is not the same as milk as the lactose has been digested. Some sites say wait till six months for that, some don't Mine used to love those little fromage frais pots, mind you, so did I! One for you, and one for me, one for you, and rest of pot for me.. ha ha

Wilkie · 13/05/2007 16:43

MrsC - when did you give it to your LO?

OP posts:
hattie2 · 13/05/2007 16:55

Wilkie - IIRC you're not supposed to give dairy until 6 months. I used to give my dd the fromage frais made with formula (Danone baby I think it's called, presume you can still get it) which is OK from 4 months.

JodieG1 · 13/05/2007 17:00

I'm waiting until 12 months for normal milk, yoghurts, cheese etc. We have allergies in the family and so won't take the risk, I'll be following this As we have asthma, hayfever, ibs and other allergies in the family then I'm definitely sticking to that as it doesn't always show the effects of the foods until they're adults.

JodieG1 · 13/05/2007 17:01

I would avoid fromage frais too as it's still dairy, until 6 months normally but 12 months with allergies in the family.

Lizzzombie · 13/05/2007 17:07

so when are you taking your LO's to MacDonalds Jodie?!

JodieG1 · 13/05/2007 17:08

Haha I'm not a food snob or anything just I worry about the weaning as we've allergies.

Lizzzombie · 13/05/2007 17:09

seriously though, thats really interesting - no cheese until after 2 years. Are these guidelines just for people with allergies to follow specifically?

Lizzzombie · 13/05/2007 17:10

I'm hideously allergic to apples (weird I know!) and raw apples arent on this chart till a year. HV said to try him on them actually at the Drs, in case he had a reaction too.

Lizzzombie · 13/05/2007 17:11

I am such a div. The title of the chart "Sequence of Adding Solid Foods for the Allergic Infant" sort of answers my question! x

JodieG1 · 13/05/2007 17:49

Hehe yes Liz, just for when you have alleriges in the immediate family

JodieG1 · 13/05/2007 17:52

You can give cheese from 12-24 months though it says so just introduce things slowly is what I plan on doing. So sometime in that period I'll introduce cheese but will probably start with yoghurts at 12 months (from the foods in that box).
