Moosma, I keep wondering if I'm joining the 3 under 3 club. Yesterday I made DS some toast, smelled it and threw up. Now that was weird! Felt nauseous again this morning. Now, if I am pg it's bloody miraculous! DH and I have only DTD once since DD came along and that was a few weeks ago. I'm exclusively bf DD, at least every 4 hours through the night. And we used a condom with no accident. I'm a bit worried about it though, which is daft. I can't think of much worse than being pg at the moment.

Oh, and it's my birthday today. Nothing thrilling. No pressies yet other than money and I don't think I'll be getting anything else. DH owes me a massage an a lie in tomorrow morning if possible. We were going to go out for lunch but DS is still napping. DD hasn't slept all morning so I think it'll be a wild day!

forgottenfreetime · 21/07/2007 14:25

Congrats to crawling baby of bubblebell! Bet down the shops in between the rain BB and get your socket covers - those were the item of safety equipment we needed first and have been the most appreciated. I have a bad habit of leaving screwdrivers around and DS did try to do a bit of DIY electrics once
On the 3 under 3 club - I had a bit of a scare the other day. I have been feeling nauseous for weeks at least once a day and had the kind of windy cramping that you get in early pg too. Despite not having had a period yet I just thought I could be. Thankfully clearblue digital says otherwise but what an anxious 2 minutes! Despite wanting 3 one day, now would be a bit soon! Would have been our own fault though can't decide on which method of contraception to use. Don't want to use hormonal since we found it took ages to conceive DS after I came off the pill and hate condoms. Probably continue 'being stupid'.
Peachy, any fleece will do I think although it's best if it's quite thin fabric so it doesn't bulk the nappy unneccesarily

MoosMa · 21/07/2007 17:06

I've got a biiiiig peice of fleece suitable for nappy liners if you want me to send it to you peachy. I got it from Time2Change but never got round to chopping it up and using it.

babydriver · 22/07/2007 21:40

oh bubblebell, what a post - great progress on the one hand (or should I say on two hands and two knees), and a big blow on the other. No particular advice to offer, but I'd agree with suzi2 that it would be worth a specific referral. Whilst it's certainly true that allergies can be a major issue, there are other developmental milestones which food and weaning help to meet to do with speech etc, so worth getting good advice.

goodness could there really be more LOs on the way already?! will wait to read over the next few weeks...

round our parts, life continues as 'normal'. DS1 has croup or tonsilitis or something, so spent half of last night with a hacking cough and sitting in the bathroom with a steamy shower going - thankfully DH was on duty so gets a gold star. Just hoping that DS2 doesn't get it. Oh the joys of parenthood.

forgottenfreetime · 23/07/2007 09:18

What rubbish weather! Hope nobody is flooded out.
Did I mention that our CM suddenly sent a text at 3.30pm last Monday that she wouldn't be able to take DS through summer holidays? Gave me an hour and a half notice! Then when I picked DS up wouldn't have siad a thing about it if I hadn't mentioned it. Cos DS only goes to her on Mondays, that day was her last! Has made me realise what a strange person she was and we won't be going back after Sept 'when she is available again'. Means I have DS at home with me today and I am praying we can go outside for at least a short time!

SmudgeMum · 24/07/2007 10:17

Wow, Lots of news in the few days I've not managed to get on t'internet. New photos are lovely. I will get round to adding some from our hols (if I can remember how to do it) Bubblebaby is a superstar with the crawling. Sounds tough with the food though. I've been taking a look at the allergies section and I'm sure you'll get some good advice there Bubblebell.
Belated Happy Birthday Suzi2. Did you get your massage and lie in? We've managed a couple of lie ins recently when Dominic has slept until 8. He's still waking up 2/3 times in the night though but I think we're slowly getting there. He's nearly 25 weeks and he was 15lb 14 last week and we're still just on milk but he's sucked and chomped at a raw carrot stick and some apple. I keep thinking that once he's on solid food, he'll start sleeping through (please don't burst my dream bubble!)
LOL at us all playing roulette with DTD. We're only just starting to get back into action and I have to admit to being very rubbish at taking the pill so who knows what will happen. Who will be the first do you reckon?
FFT hope yesterday was alright with both DC. What your CM did sounds a bit odd. Hope weather picks up and you can do lots of nice outside things. Babydriver I hope last night was a bit better for you all. I had croup when I was little until I was about 8 I think and I still remember how much the steam helped.
Peachygirl, any news on the job front for DH?

SmudgeMum · 24/07/2007 10:26

Just updated our photos too. It was a lot easier than last time - maybe I am getting part of my brain back

marmitemad · 24/07/2007 11:38

love your photos Smudgemum, very of your holiday in the Caribbean. Any tips for first time flying with los? I sent off dd's passport application yesterday, so looking forward to visiting our friends in Menorca in September and getting away from this dreadful weather.

I have also been looking at sorting out wills and am currently trying to justify getting a Tripp Trapp highchair.

and its not raining today

peachygirl · 24/07/2007 20:49

Hi I'm back from my parents, a good time was had by all. DH has his interview tomorrow and we are to start the weaning next week .. I must have another look at the book and get some spoons and bowls.

OP posts:
suzi2 · 24/07/2007 21:21

I really fancy a tripp trapp for DS who's now almost 2. He still needs the booster seat and I was planning on using it for DD. But it seems a bit of a leap to go from cheapo booster to posh chair that he'll probably never sit in lol. DD is driving me batty again today watching everything I eat an trying to make a grab for it. She's 23wks I think and her sitting's imrpoving a lot. So another week or two and she can have a rice cake (whoopee, bet she'll be excited :-P)!

Didn't get my massage or my lie in! Both kids were wild all weekend so I didn't get much of a moment to myself. DS got a new tooth (only one spikey one and 4 molars to go!) and DD was biting me when feeding and seems to have a side front tooth fairly close.

NOT pregnant. Would have been near miraculous but as I've been so iffy lately thought it was best to check. 99p shop test says NO and I think I'd be far enough on for a definate + if it was to be. SOOOOOO happy!
Right, I really need to get some photos on here... will try just now.

Alocin · 24/07/2007 21:35

hello all, sorry I've been neglecting Mumsnet recently.

DS is nearly 22 weeks and weighs (2 weeks ago, first time to HV in 3 months eek!) 17lbs 2oz, bang on 75th percentile as he has been since birth. He is doing lots of pushing up on hands and bum shuffling, and gets really frustrated about not being able to crawl. He has (past 2 weeks) had some baby rice, pear and apricot, which he likes and broccoli and pea, which he certainly does not!

Very shouty today, and I think we think he is cranky when he is tired, I keep having to remind my DH that lots of babies his age sleep 7 til 7 so getting whiney during Eastenders is tiredness, not provocation!

Im working hard in the gym to try and lose some more weight, and I have to say I actually secretly like the crappy weather as it means I dont have to uncover too much flesh!!!

We have a tripp trapp, 2nd off ebay cost £80 - looks lovely, and DS seems to enjoy it!

I sympathise with those who have large babies - people seem to have this perception that they are older than they are and so should be more developed, even my Dad keeps saying - is he crawling yet? AAAAAGGHHH!

babydriver · 24/07/2007 22:27

Just to chuck in a good word for tripp trapps. DS1 still uses his (he's 3.5) and I don't envisage not having it for some years to come, so you def get your money's worth esp if you get a second hand one. I think it really helps them as toddlers to eat well because they are comfortable in their seats rather than slipping off cushions/kneeling/crammed into a too small chair or whatever.

DS1 a bit better today - got a humidifier from Argos which really helped through the night and meant DH didn't spend half the night in the shower. Fingers crossed for DS2 not catching it.

Must investigate how to do photos on MN - I've a cracker of DS with a courgette stick in his mouth!

peachygirl · 25/07/2007 20:23

Hi I've just emailed the London lot with some dates.
I quite fancy a tripp trapp too.. although I think I hae said this before. Ebay looks like a good bet.
Dh had his interview and said it went OK, we haven't heard anything yet.
I'm off for the weighing tomorrow but all in all same old same old here too

Sallyallyally · 25/07/2007 22:02

Congrats to the crawler . Henry can get his bottom up in the air, or his front up, but can't co ordinate the two. So lies there turning round puffing and grunting and finally cries in frustration! Looks funny though! DD1 never crawled as such, just used to do a kind of army manouvoer skirmish across the floor.
Food is going down a treat! Eating any combination of carrot, brocolli, green beans, peas, potato, avocado, apple and pear passed through a sieve. Latches onto a peach if you peel off the skin, like a human leech and sucks all the juice out. (try it..very comical!). Ditto with melon and nectarine. Gums crusts to death and throws rice cakes on the floor in disgust. (can't blame him!)Gets very upset when each meal finishes..kind of gives out a humming noise as food approaches which gets louder and more frantic and ends in hand to hand combat over possession of the bowl and spoon, loud cries and food from head to toe for both of us! Not pretty! Hopefully will tidy up table manners before he starts dating.

suis · 26/07/2007 12:20

Sandy's got a tooth ! Bizarrely it's right at the very back, so I can't actually see it, but you can feel the wee hard corners poking through the gum. And best of all, now that it's broken through I seem to have my smiley happy baby back, as opposed to the unhappy screamming one I had a couple of days ago.

forgottenfreetime · 26/07/2007 14:53

It's amazing how all the babies are developing, isn't it? Ruth would like to try food I think but due to allergic family we're going to wait until 26 weeks (4 weeks away!)
I've got a dilemma. DH is playing tennis in Biaritz in September and we have all booked to go with him since we saw that the hotel have babysitting and creche facilities. Now we have the terms and conditions of our reservation (in French) it seems to say that the children need their TB vaccinations. Can this be right? Do I try to plead ignorance (being English) or see if I can get them the jabs (seems a bit over the top)?

DontCallMeYummy · 26/07/2007 16:21

Hello ladies... Have been offline for a while and was shocked to hear so many little ones are eating - we're still bumbling about with my milk, though I am getting a Tripp Trapp soon in preparation for the courgette and carrot sticks Olympics. I was in Green Baby today and they have an offer on for 25% off all furniture orders before 31st July, including the Tripp Trapp! I couldn't find the info on their website but the salesgirl gave me a number - 0870 2406894 - to order one. It works out at £101 for the chair + baby attachment.
Thanks for the email re the meet up Peachygirl, we're spending a lot of August flitting around but usually anytime is good for us so just let me know where and when and we'll do our best to come along.

babydriver · 27/07/2007 21:16

oooh yes, I forgot to mention that Evan has his first tooth - came through on Wednesday and explains the enormous amount of dribble and sporadic grumpiness at the moment!

FFT, not sure what to do on your TB jab thingy. I'd be inclined to ignore it but you could always post in the travel bit of MN to see if others have had the same request.

peachygirl · 29/07/2007 21:39

Hi everyone I will post about the meet up earlythis week, thanks to those who have got in touch.
We went to see the Harry Potter film today to a real cinema showing - not a baby one. I got one dirty look as we walked in but DD was an angel sleeping and feeding for most of the film and just a bit of gurgling.
She is now 15lbs 4 rolling but no where near sitting!!
Next week is a really busy week we have something on nearly every day and I am sooo tired.
We have tried a bit of baby rice and a little pureed apple over the weeked.. she seemed to enjoy them

bubblebell1 · 30/07/2007 07:51

hi everyone.

everything manic here. ds2 is having probs with his tummy still and ds1 has had an ear infection and his ear drum burst feel like i havnt slept in weeks tho i am sure it is really days. having 2 ill is the worst. especially when dp is moaning about the boys being awake at night.. do they not realise that there is no point moaning.. it wont make them better ARGH... sorry

FFT both my boys have had there bcg ds2 had his at 3 months you have to ask your health visitor to refer you and if you want it done then as quickly as possible you know how long the nhs take. to be honest ds2 was 3 months and ds1 was 6 and ds2 didnt even react to the needle goin in. the other plus side is that if they have it done as babies they dont have to have the skin test before which according to ds1 was worse than actual injection.

forgottenfreetime · 30/07/2007 09:19

Thanks for that Bubble, I asked my GP (who's a friend)and he said I need to get it done at the Chest Hospital so going to ring up today. Sure I will have to get a proper referral from him tho..Pity you with two ill and a DH. My Dh is away working this week but I have woken up with a sore throat, nearly lost my voice and mastitis! Can't understand the mastitis tbh feeding has been going really well. But texted DH who replies that he is really tired! WTF do you think I am, having not a had an unbroken nights sleep for nearly six months now! Good job he is away, this look could kill.

peachygirl · 30/07/2007 17:58

Hi I've sent this as an email to those who have got in touch about a london meet up but am posting it here for all to see.. any one else welcome if you are lurking about in the area

^I've looked at the emails and I think it would be best to go for the 30th August. BabyDriver, If we went for a picnic type thing would that be easier if your elder DS has to come too??
I know daizydo might not be able to make it but it looks like the best date.
I'll post this as a thread and then any other London / SE lurkers can join if they want to.

So .. come on then... lets have suggestions where to meet or is the south bank as good a place as any?^

FFT if it makes you feel any better I've had the 'tiredness' argument with Dh recently! They just cannot win.
for your mastitis and sore throat

daizydoo · 30/07/2007 20:06

Well I managed my 1st week back at work. DS managed to behave most of the time with his Grandma, but yesterday when DH had him, he seemed to cry most of the day!! Unfortunately it did coincide with his 2nd tooth coming through!
I found it really weird being back at work, it felt like the last 6 months hadn't happened.

I wont be able to make the London meet up - hopefully we'll be in Glos by then. If not I will be climbing the wall!!! Moosma - we could always do a south west meet up in Weston!!?

Hope everyone is feeling better now and not so tired...

sorkycake · 30/07/2007 20:16

'ello
we're still alive, but very tired, as I'm sure you all are as well.
Not night feeding anymore but still needs a 10.30pm feed. We're blw here and anything goes, today he had pizza! He'll try anything from anyone's plate basically. Last week he stole cajun chicken from my baguette and 3 chunky chips
Not crawling yet, but can sit up on his own so he's discovered a whole new interesting way of viewing his world. A very chubby 18lbs of scrumptiousness
Hope everyone's well. I venture back to work 1/7 in a couple of weeks time, mixed feelings about it.
I've had a couple of dreams recently that I was pg again and I felt like throwing up when I woke up. I still want another one but not until he's nearer 10 months-ish. Tbh I don't really want to be pg again full stop, but it's a necessarily evil if you want another baby really isn't it. Ho hum.

MoosMa · 31/07/2007 11:00

No weaning or sitting here yet, although the Bumbo seems to be helping her posture and I don't think sitting is too far away now. She's getting good at pushing herself up on her arms but has forgotten how to roll again!

I've no idea what she weighed as I missed the last HV clinic and there isn't another one until 16/8 (our 5th wedding anniversary!), but she's nice and chunky and her clothes are getting tighter so she must be growing.

I have offered a piece of apple and bit of banana but got a turned up nose at both so will leave it another couple of weeks and try again, she's not 6 months for another 3 weeks yet....
