Breastfeeding

My little girl, who is a week today, is breastfed. She only feeds for between 5 and 10 minutes at each feed. She is feeding every couple of hours but like I say not really for long periods of time. Should I be worried or does it sound ok for her to cluster feed?

I think if she is having lots of wet and dirty nappies and you are feeding when she gives hunger cues then you are doing just fine. My baby is a week old today and he feeds every few hours but for about 20 mins a breast. You could have a faster flow though or your baby could have a stronger latch/suck. Every baby is different.

The nappies will tell you a lot and their weight gain, my little one who is 9 weeks only tends to feed for ten minutes, try offering the other boob as an alternative as if they are still hungry they will take it if not you know they have had enough. It is also normal for them to feed quite regular.
