We have run out of space so thought I would start a new thread.

Pavlov-hope you are OK today hun.

kayzed-well done to Roshi

Gave Sophie some SMA (5oz but she only glugged 3oz ish down) she zonked out immediatedly on her gym mat. Poor girl must have been starving the way she uh, uh, uh when she saw the beaker.

Mum and dad coming in a mo. Dad is tiling and mum and I are going to paint the ceiling. DH doesn't know so watch out for me on the relationships thread later.

Bloss-get you on the homepage! How do you do tips?

Better go-love to all and will catch up later.

TheGoddessBlossom · 09/05/2007 19:08

yes numpty I think it is. My midwife for Toby was also a childless battleaxe - she did have, however, 3 dogs, which is apparently "the same". Needless to say I hated her on sight, and realtions did not improve when she told me off for swearing.....

Pink - H and your DD2 can hang together - he collided with a (thankfully padded) pole in the soft play today and has a HUGE bruised egg on his head! Have been putting arnica on it, but it's still massive. He didn't bat an eyelid, asked me to kiss it and off he went again. I'd have been at A&E if it was me!!

Well call with work went in an unexpected direction - have spent the whole day deciding I would go back if they could offer me a 3 day week - even went as far as phoning H's old nursery to get fees for two kids - £1090.95 a month for two boys three days a week btw... - and then my boss said it is so bad in the new landscape since the takeover, even he is leaving and I'd be bonkers to go back! Glad he was able to be so candid, as if he wasn't leaving he wouldn't have been able to be. So that's that....

I'll revisit the issue after the Summer I think...H starts pre-school and I think i'll be bored......

xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 09/05/2007 19:10

oh btw - you'll be relieved to hear I may not be online for a while after next week as work are cancelling my broadband, the bastards. They'll be making me pay my own mobile phone bill soon too!! So I have to sort my own ISP, so I need to pull my finger out basically, but suspect there will be a gap in provision - shit I am going to get major withdrawal from MN

Lysettes · 09/05/2007 19:36

bloss totally know what you mean about withdrawal from mn!!!

we ended up going with bt for ours as it's easy to get transferred over, although i'm not sure they're the cheapest! be unlimited is pretty good if they are in your area as well

must go have a load of tidying up to do!

MaeWest · 09/05/2007 19:44

numpty - I am still feeding at night and am pretty knackered at the mo. DS gives me tantalising glimpses of a full nights sleep every now and then (the little tease) but then it all goes tits up again

bloss - at no broadband, I get jittery if our router goes down for 5 mins!

Hi Ladies - Sorry I keep appearing and reappearing at monthly intervals - just don't seem to get the time at the moment to get on here! Our laptop also bit the bust and had to be replaced so we've been without 'contact' for about a week. (Up side is we now have webcam which is brilliant to use to catch up with family OS) Will try and get on here more often as I love hearing what you're all up to - will have read back, although it could take some time!!

Amelia is now crawling - I think it was the lure of DS toys over the other side of the room that finally got her moving - she'd been faffing about half heartedly trying to do it for about a month and then a couple of weekends ago just did it. DS is not that impressed as she's so into his stuff, poor thing. I have to be really careful with her though as absolutely everything goes in her mouth. DS did this to some extent but not like her - she'll have a go at anything.

She has four teeth, two on the bottom and two at the top but not the middle ones- the ones either side of them (not sure what they're called). These top ones are only new (only noticed when I was checking her mouth as I'd thought she was eating a piece of paper but it was a tooth!) hopefully she'll get the middle two before these get too big as it wont be a good look.

She pulls herself up (only to her knees) on the sofa and in the cot sometimes. She's a good little eater - eats everything I give her (have just cursed myself by saying that!) and is still bf and still NOT sleeping through the night -the little monkey. I think she's waking mainly because she's in our room and knows I'm there and will go to her rather than let her scream. We actually slept downstairs last weekend to see if she'd sleep better without us in the room and on the first night she settled herself back to sleep a couple of times without any intervention from us and slept through on the second! The next night when we were back in the room she woke up a couple of times and wouldn't resettle unless we went to comfort her. I think she likes to have a bit of contact in the night whether a feed or just a cuddle. Generally its twice a night, sometimes once which isn't too bad I guess you just get used to it. Very different to DS though who slept through from a very early age.

Anyway, I'd best go as this is getting very long. I'd be interested in a meet up. I'm in East London.

SleepIsForTheWeak · 09/05/2007 23:00

just a quick one.. jom, what is your e-mail? We are doing a mini meet up in London, hope we can still organise a proper meet up for all too

JeanieG · 10/05/2007 00:04

Hi all,

Busy day today, finally just sat down. Gonna go to bed now though.

It's DS birthday tomorrow, oops just checked the time-today is his birthday. He is 11. I cannot believe that my baby is 11 years old. I have got an 11 year old kid!!! I feel well old now.

Hiya to you all

Love

Jeanie

jom · 10/05/2007 06:06

Early start today in the jom household!

I'd be interested in a mini one sleep - my email is jms68atbtinternetdotcom. (Just reread that and it sounded funny - like I'd be interested in a mini sleep which seems to be all I get these days!!)

MaeWest · 10/05/2007 08:55

Meant to say, thanks for nice comments yesterday. Feeling a bit more human today as only 2 wake-ups, 2am and 5am, he had good gulpy feeds, so maybe he is hungry? . Better go as I think the morning poo has arrived (sure there's a gap in the market for the highchair/commode combo)

numptysmummy · 10/05/2007 11:03

Nearly killed not so dh last night when dd woke again. Was trying t ignore her (and doing quite well) when he said are you getting that fkn child or not - just as she had shut up. So she heard him and started again! She then fed all bloody night til 5ish when i must of dried up and then she was going from breast to breast pulling and pinching. VVVVVVV bad mood in numpty land today. And to top it,have hosp appt for 2 oldest eye checks and dh forgot to take day off so have all 4 to take . Am considering putting dh in his own bloody rm and doing cold turkey with him. (Oh,to top it all off he wanted a shag when he woke up and when i said no did the whole is it me,don't you fancy me anymore!!!) BLOODY MEN!!

TheGoddessBlossom · 10/05/2007 13:05

GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Cheely one you got there Numpty.....my DH's long lost twin perchance??

Beadmum · 10/05/2007 13:28

kz - good luck with dermo appt tomorrow. glad you didnt have to wait too long, hope you get the answers you want cant believe roshi gets by on so little sleep

Charlottes routine, not strict times just average
7am - wakes
7.30 - ready brek and fruit
8.30 - 6oz bottle
9am - 30-40 min sleep
12pm - lunch (finger foods of sandwich/toast, breadsticks and soft cheese, mince patties, banana, raisins)drink of water
1pm - 30-40 min sleep
3pm - snack - custard pot and rice cakes
4.30 - tea (3 ice cubes or jar of savoury and fruit pot/yoghurt, maybe fruit as well)
6pm - bath
6.30 - 6oz bottle
bed by 7pm

looking at other routines, i feel really bad im not offering milk more, should i increase this?

numptysmummy - bloody men, no wonder youre

well dd is finally starting to pull herself up a bit, she is so behind most of the babies on here. pulls herself up to her knees and moved backwards on living room florr this morning but i think the wooden floor assisted her

horrible weather here, hope the summer comes back soon. bye for now xx

numptysmummy · 10/05/2007 13:43

Trying to work out Ellas routine - kinda goes like this:
Most of night:breast
7.00:up
7.30 - 8ish:cereal or toast
10 - 11.30:nap
12.30 - 1ish: lunch, which could be whatever was for tea night before or sandwich
3.30:sleeps in car after getting others
5.30: tea which is whatever she didn't have at lunchtime
6.30 - 7:bed
She has breast on demand and juice with her meals. Trying to get her to have food at snack times rather than milk - not sure if she needs to have solids inbetween or not really. Problem with 4 kids is everyone (including self) asumes you know! They're all so different that you have to learn everything like this again. Praps best not to think about it and just do whatever?

numptysmummy · 10/05/2007 13:58

That looks like i don't feed her v much!I should add that she has all the usual with her dinners etc like yogs or fruit for pudding and bread sticks to wave around if it's not finger food!

sohappyicouldcry · 10/05/2007 14:34

Hi again ladies, loads more postings to try to catch up on ! Not easy when DD is now pulling herself up on absolutely everything (including trying to climb out of playpen), tries to escape from highchair and is the fastest crawler in the northwest .

Been trying to think of other foods to try her with that are quick & easy to make. She loves pasta and cheesy stuff.

DD's "routine" seems to be...
8.30am Wake, change, attack whoever is still in bed !!
9.30am Breakfast - porridge, weetabix etc... plus approx 5oz milk
10.30am Nap for about 30 mins (longer if out in pram or car)
12.30 - 1.30pm Lunch - half jar of baby food (stage 2 big jar), bread stick, cheese, yogurt, water offered (usually 4oz or so of milk had as well as usually refuses water unless from bottle)
3pm Nap (same as morning one)
5.30pm Tea - half to full jar amount depending on what it is, yogurt or pureed fruit, some of our tea (usually something like carrot sticks, broccoli florets, cheese, bread & butter etc)
8pm Bed (8oz bottle first though!)

All this gets completely thrown if either DH or myself is on nights as DD has to come into work with us to be "handed over" !!

Hope everyone's DC's are better, we've had a few sickly ones again haven't we. Alex wasn't so good yesterday, but she seems back to her normal self today (fingers crossed).

Have a wonderful day, sunny here but windy.

Off to work tonight, so will be very envious of you all tucked up later on !

Love lots xx

p.s. Would also be interested in a meet up, I'm up near Manchester (sheffield side) and do drive so willing to travel but not too far.

sohappyicouldcry · 10/05/2007 14:35

Oh, sorry, forgot to say that DD's new trick this weel is to be able to clap her hands which she does ALL the time ! Think she only does it so she gets a clap herself - show off !

frenchleave · 10/05/2007 14:48

Hello all,

Am v envious of you lot all meeting up. Impy - Carcassone will be lovely! Unfortunately we're a lot further north... in fact the UK meet-up might be closer I hope Ryan's better, poor you and poor him, sounds awful.

Am wondering if T is ever going to crawl! He'll lurch forwards from sitting to grab something, end up flat on his tummy, then roll onto his back, but he is showing no inclination to move on all fours. Both girls were crawling by 9 months, and DD1 was walking at 9.5 months!

Here's his routine, if anyone's interested:
8.30/9am - awake, BF
10.30/11am - nap for 2 hours
12.30/1pm - lunch - meat/fish & veg + baby yoghurt or fruit, drink of water
2.30ish - nap for 1.5 hours
5pm - BF
6ish - bath
7pm - dinner (cheese & fruit, or veg & yoghurt, drink of water)
8pm - BF
8.30 - bedtime

It looks really rigid, set down like that, but not every day is like that or I'd be climbing the walls, begging to go back to work!

Talking of which, it's nearly 4 (school run time) and T is still asleep... !

sohappyicouldcry · 10/05/2007 14:55

Whereabouts are you then Frenchleave ? We frequently go to the Vienne/Deux Sevres area, just off N10 about 30 mins south of Poitiers...... What's the weather like at mo ? DH off there again next week (I'm working unfortunately so can't go ).

AnnieOleTing · 10/05/2007 15:45

Hello Girls.
'Working' from home today! Not! It's my day off, babies are both asleep, DH has taken himself off to the rubbish dump and Sainsburys, so I don't know what to do with myself! Well I could tackle the hoovering/washing/tidying... but naaaah!
Went to playgroup this morning, so I think that wore them both out.

KZ home is the back of beyond, Kerry. Most of the fam are still there. It's just me that has ventured across the Irish Sea.
Oh there's Kayley awake again. She sleeps about 10 mins longer than Roshi I would say.

Bye for now
Annie

frenchleave · 10/05/2007 18:00

SoHappy - I'm in Brittany, not too far but not exactly close to Poitiers either! But I was an au pair in Poitiers one summer in another lifetime! Nice city.

Weather's ok - windy and a bit overcast but not wet at the mo. Was better in April - like July, crazy but lovely.

TheGoddessBlossom · 10/05/2007 19:42

all you multi-lingual people. I am dead jealous. Wish I spoke French.

Can you please all be very very quiet, because I have three, count them, THREE sleeping boys upstairs....BF has left her 2 month old with me, while she goes to her step dads recital or summink. DH decides to go fishing tonight. So - I am at a play date with a very pregnant friend, H has the devil in him, 5.35pm load both boys into car after tea, drive home batting answers to H's "Why?" questions,(there are holes in the road cos the road is worn out Harry) put H in my bed fully clothed to watch Postman Pat, clean, change and feed Toby, put him to bed (6.10am) friend arrives with Jack, ensconce them on sofa, leggit back upstairs, put own PJs on, take make up off, gather washing into pile, clean and change H read him story, put him to bed 6.37pm leggit back downstairs to hear BF's paranoid lecture about Jack and how to settle him, leggit back upstairs to let H have a wee put H back in bed, leggit back downstairs to watch BF put Jack in moses basket, let BF out the door, put dummy back in Jack's mouth, get glass of wine, grab laptop.................and relaaaaaxxxx. Fucking hell work is easier than this.

Ceebee74 · 10/05/2007 20:49

And that is why you are such a goddess

HumphreysCorner · 10/05/2007 20:49

Evening ladies
