Sorry for the hijack everyone!!!!

Shimmer · 14/04/2007 23:39

Course you didn't offend me with the horse thing laughalot! Freddie is a fab name for a little boy, horse, spider, sheep, budgerigar, whatever...

Sorry to hear about Dh's godfather UD.

I had dominos tonight too Nemo. It was SOOOO GOOOOOD. I really think I could live on pizza. Specially dominos, though pizza hut's not bad too.... Ummmmmmmmmm....pizza......

&&&& about your leaky water tank Wilkie. Spose at least you can set your mind at rest about the cat

Wilkie · 15/04/2007 08:09

HE SLEPT THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (apologies UD & EAH for early morning text but I was very excited He slept 9.30pm-6.50am. Whooo. Wilkie feels refreshed and ready to go

It's foggy here at the mo but is supposed to be gorgeous later. Fingers crossed.

BTW - I had my first shoplifting experience yesterday . Went into one of my fave shops (not naming it in case they come get me!!!!!!) and tried on a pair of sandals. Hung them on the back of the buggy while I looked round the shop with the intention of going to pay for the. J started crying so in my haste to get out the shop and home I got all the way back to the car and realised the sandals were still on the back of the buggy!!! Couldn't be arsed to go back though

RGee · 15/04/2007 09:23

Wilkie - great news about J sleeping through!! Did you wake up and panic? PMSL at your thieving [slaps own wrist for encouraging bad behaviour] Meant to say congrats on the job front too. And thanks for the Macmillan link - I'll get a fiver in for Nemo. The sun is breaking through the fog, life is going well...yadda yadda.. Is it too early to crack open a bottle?

Did everyone have Dominos last night? I had create your own with tomato and garlic sauce, tuna, pineapple, mushroom, and tomatoes, and I convince myself it's healthy cos of all the 'veg'.

God I feel like wittering on today about nothing (no change there huh). DH keeps coming in and looking over my shoulder. Go away!! That told him. Think he's jealous of you all We're off out soon for a 6 mile hike so I hope lo doesn't take that as a cue for doing an explosive poo.

OK, enough of these ramblings. Have a good day, don't do any ironing, and don't forget the suncream. [Yes mum I hear you all say]

RGee · 15/04/2007 09:24

By the way my period just started this mnorning. I told DH and he said 'you sound like you're 13'!!

ellieandhattie · 15/04/2007 09:34

I have got my brand new bottle of 50+ in my changing bag now rgee (although I accidentally bought the coloured stuff so extra careful near white clothes)

Nice and sunny here both dd's looking lovely Hattie inpink and white gingham dress and Ellie in pink and white spotty dress.

Got to pop to tescos for Eddas (bf) later and then quickly popping to them to drop the food shopping and masses of blue clothes I bought yesterday (was so much fun buying blue for a change ) and then into IL's for BBQ and Ellie very excited as her cousins will be there so the 3 of them will run around the garden screaming like banshiees.

Wilkie at your water nightmare (poor cat getting the blame) but YEH YEH YEH to whole nights sleep.

Right whillst its quiet (ellie helping dh he is cleaning car and she is 'hoovering' inside for him) and Hattie napping I am gong into the loft to put somebits away till I can get my arse into gear to sell them

Hope everyone has a lovely day

Wilkie · 15/04/2007 09:54

Q for you second time mothers out there. What do you dress LOs in for night time sleep in the summer? Jacob's room gets VERY hot and he is going to need some more sleepsuits soon in the next size up. What should I buy?

carrotcake · 15/04/2007 11:03

Hi everyone, can't possibly read all last week but hope you're well. We had a lovely time away loads of walking nice views, lazy days etc. Now back to the terrifying prospect of getting married in 10 days!! Was hoping to tip back under 12 stone with all the walking but no, not a pound, but then there was quite a lot of eating, and drinking. Good job my wedding dress is corseted

Wilkie, I'd maybe buy footless babygro's now, and in the really hot weather mine would just sleep in a vest, or even just a nappy.

Hope this won't be another controversial but what do you think about babies watching tv? I don't mean leaving them in front of it all day but I seem to watch quite a lot at the moment and he really stares at it, in fact, I've turned him round when he's on his mat and he still strains to see it. Our front room is tiny so he's always near it and the other two often want to watch something, or Jon, and that's where I sit most to feed him.
I hadn't really noticed him looking at it all the time but actually he's transfixed. Bad, or just paranoid?

Dragonhart · 15/04/2007 12:22

Wilkie- Congrats on the sleeping through but on the leak.

On the sleep suit thing suppose it depends on what J sleeps in. Last year L was in summer sleeping bags when it was really hot with a vest on then when it got even hotter, just a vest with a fan in his room. Def worth investing in a fan if your room is hot like L's is as it really cools the room down for them.

Will sort the £5 to Mcmillan tonight Nemo. Such a lovely idea. They were lovely to my grandad too.

Glad you had a good holiday Carrot. I used to watch TV when I was feeding L then when he started to watch it (it was after I had stopped feeding though) I started to have it off ost of the day. He now watches more tv than before R was born esp when I am feeding R as he just sits still. TV is a big guilt thing for me though. Dont want to let him watch loads but it is so nice to have the peace esp when he is being a monster!

Shimmer · 15/04/2007 13:50

Carrot - welcome back! Freddie LOVES watching TV too. Just like you said if we put him away from it or facing in the other direction when its on he will really strain to look at it, which does rather make me chuckle! I think its probably not that bad at the moment, when they don't really know what their watching (mostly GMTV, neighbours & old property programs in F's case!)... I've just got a baby einstein dvd though, in the hope that some tv watching will make him brainy

Congrats on your full nights sleep Wilkie!

We're going to Hong Kong tomorrow(to visit my parents) and i'm getting a bit overwhelmed with everything there is still to do. Not going out enjoying the beautiful weather at all but am stuck inside washing, ironing and packing all our summer clothes (none of mine from last summer fit me anymore which put me in a foul mood this morning! ) and trying to figure out what i've forgotten!

Nemo2007 · 15/04/2007 14:27

hello all
am out in the garden with the kiddies so trying to break away from the monotony of mummy mummy look at me splash...honestly it was fab the first 10 times but now 3hrs later getting a bit bored!!!! Chloe is happily lying in the pram playing with her feet with occasionaly giggles to herself and have chased DD1 around all morning to try and get her to wear her blooming hat!!!
Hope you are all having a lovely day and wilkie at J sleeping through!!!!
We get C to bed at ohh when we go and she has now spent 4 nights in the crib and I think she is doing fab as waking up has reduced to all of 4 times a night..pmsl

hattie2 · 15/04/2007 16:16

Nemo, I'm with you on the 'mummy, mummy watch me splash / go down the slide etc. etc' - told dd I was changing my name so she couldn't call me mummy anymore and she burst into tears [bad mother emoticon]. She must get the sensitive streak from her father .....
Will also donate to McMillan, a very worthy cause.

Wilkie, hooray on the sleeping through and fingers crossed for tonight. about the leak, at least you found out it wasn't the cat before your dh wanted to get rid of her though

Sorry to hear about your dh's godfather UD.

Shimmer, have a good holiday. I've only been to HK once and that was many years ago but would love to go back sometime.

Not much else to report, better go and rescue ds as he's in his door bouncer and dd has decided it's fun to spin him round as fast as she can

laughalot · 15/04/2007 18:12

Well what a lovely day we went to the pub with the kids aidan had some pop and crisps he thought that was great as we dont really let him have alot of pop and crisps at home and lauren well she did a big crap so I had to change her outside in the beer garden .

Lizz lemon drizzle cake devine made some this morning.

Wilks j sleeping through . Soz about the leak though

Eah never did get to asda

JodieG1 · 15/04/2007 18:55

Will try and catch up later, Ethan didn't get to sleep until 9.45 last night and I folllowed him at 10 so didn't get time.

We've had a lovely day here. Went to Tesco first thing in the morning to buy some bbq food and invited my parents over for a bbq this afternoon. Lovely, weather, lovely food and ha a great time with the kids. They loved playing together in the garden and we played frisbee, football, basketball, dancing and they even made stir fries from the grass hehe. Really nice and peaceful.

ellieandhattie · 15/04/2007 19:38

Hello

Laughalot re asda I don't have one near me or I'd pick one up and post it (got it when I went to visit my nan last week)

Shimmer hope you got all your packing done and have a fab time bet your parents cant wait to see him (being nosy do they work out there?)

Jodie sounds like a lovely day

Dragonhart second what you said about the fan, we have small fans for both the dd's room and bought huge one for our room and lounge plus the playroom so no lugging them from room to room. Worth picking one up sooner than later as when it get s to hot they'll be sold out.

Ellie will sleep in short pj's as she likes something on and she'll have cotton sheet as shes is like me and likes something to cover her.
But for Hattie I have long cotton babygros but wouldnt bother to put a vest on but also bought some short sleeve/short length baby gros (from mothercare) for the night time but will put a cotton sheet over her when I go to bed. If its boiling then vest and cotton sheet.

Carrotcake sounds like you had a lovely week can't beleive only 10 days till wedding.

We had lovely day visited Bf and they loved the clothes and then been at IL's since 1 for BBQ ended up bathing the kids there (always have spare set of pj's at both parents houses in case of days like today!) an left at 6.15 where they both promptly nodded off in the car so had a long soak in peace and enjoying the peace and quiet

ellieandhattie · 15/04/2007 19:40

hattie/nemo 2nd you on the 'mummy' thing also do you have the constant
'mummy what are you doing'
my standard reply is 'standing on my head

to which ellie will promptly tell me 'no mummy you are .....' so why the blimmim hell are you asking me then???????

Nemo2007 · 15/04/2007 19:43

laughalot · 16/04/2007 08:41

RGee · 16/04/2007 09:07

Morning! Sorry to hear about your rubbish night Laughalot. I won't go on about my 9th night on the trot sleeping through

Today's joys include noticing that our heat protector thingy on the oven door has slipped off, so need a new door. 90 quid it's going to cost us!! And the postman has just brought us the plans and quote for getting our back garden done by landscape gardeners....splutter... I knew it wouldn't be cheap but all I can say is I was glad I was sitting down....need to go lie down now..
