I go to the big mothercare on oxford street and have always found it pretty good. Having said that i went today and they had nothing i wanted, and i was told they're moving the store next month so are not getting any more stock into this one, which wasn't very helpful. But they were quite friendly about it, and i got most of the stuff i needed in boots. Did get Freddie some more tshirts though! I seriously think this boy has more clothes than me and DP put together! He's only got a kind of smallish chest of drawers at the mo, but i'm thinking its not going to be long before he needs his own wardrobe... not that we have anywhere to put it

I've put most of his 0-3 month stuff away now too (well the stuff i liked, we had some pretty vile stuff given to us, which i've now thrown away , just in case he has a little brother one day. SIL asked us on easter day when the next one was going to be on the way and DP did a kind of rolling-his-eyes "Oh God No" face, which was a rather disapointing responce. I kept my mouth shut though!! I'm just hoping when the time's right (i'm kind of thinking maybe another year before starting to think about it again) he'll agree!

Freddie's been a right PITA today. He's so whiny. He won't sit still and look at his toys or mobile or anything for more than 2 mins without making these pathetic little cries which aren't crying at all just whining and attention-seeking I think. He's perfectly happy sitting on my knee or when i'm playing with him so i know there's nothing actually wrong. But I can't be playing with him ALL DAY... Wilkie, I'm going to order that Baby Einstein dvd you said you'd got as F loves TV and maybe he'll sit quietly in front of that for a while!
So pissed off I missed you on MSN last night!!

Nemo2007 · 11/04/2007 18:10

hi all
I really should try to keep up more am awful considering I am online most days...have msn too if anyone is interested it is [email protected] and location wise I am in liverpool.

Will try to have a proper catch up later on when am not surrounded by children..lol

ellieandhattie · 11/04/2007 18:16

twas a good night on msn - had some interesting comments from wilkie (never ever ask wilkie anything re sex when shes had a drink) and rgee hows the chandelier????

I am attempting a msn free night after 7.30 as need to do my ironing. Have been very good today and blitzed the whole of downstairs, done the food shopping and made a picnic. Met my bf and her lo at park near to them and girls played happily together for 1.5hours and we had picnic, bf is going in at 6.30am tomorrow for induction so fingers crossed I can post her birth announcement on the april thread (my phone will be glued to me tomorrow).

Both dd's now nice and clean and in pj's ready for bed in half an hour hurrah.

Shimmer I remember Ellie was like Freddie alot was fine all the time he had the attention (in fact still like it now and shes 2.7) but Hattie is so laid back and happy in her own company in fact she seems quite surprised when she gets any attention but then she gives me huge smiles and coos at me. Some of that is because Ellie was my PFB but also they have very different characters. Do you have freeview/sky as cbeebies is good for colourful programmes (Hattie seems to enjoy watching Lazytown with Ellie at 4.00 whilst I start getting tea sorted)

My mothercare is shite and overpriced only ever go in there at the very end of their sales as they do things at stupid prices, I ordered the whole nursery set from there when having Ellie (cost over £350) and they lost the lot had to reorder and sort out payment as they were insisting I had signed for delivery they did resend it all and I received it within 48 hours. However about 6 months later the 1st lot that dissapeared turned up by courier I kept it thinking they'd get in touch but never did so I took it all back in stages and exchanged it so ended up with lots of freebie clothe/nappies/wipes etc kept us stocked up for ages

ellieandhattie · 11/04/2007 18:17

hello nemo long time

JodieG1 · 11/04/2007 18:23

I've had about enough for one day and put the kids to bed early. If Ethan is a good little baby tonight (unlikely lol) then I'll be on msn later, hope someone is about to have a natter with. Really fed up and pissed off, feeling very hormonal and feel like I'm going to come on (sorry tmi) but I hope I don't! Not fair if periods return so soon as I'm bf still. Going to have some dinner with dh in half an hour and then try and see if Ethan will get off to sleep.

Will catch up with posts later.

ellieandhattie · 11/04/2007 18:26

oh dear jodie sounds like a bad day, hope you enjoy dinner and ethan behaves for you

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 11/04/2007 18:57

Hi Nemo

Hi EAH - get the reins out, I'm coming on MSN - Jacob is driving me f*cking insane - I've been on my own with him all day and he's been great but has screamed continuously for the past hour and now won't go to sleep. I have rocked him and stroked him and done very trick in the book to calm him down but he is overtired and screaming. So [bad mother emoticon] I have put him in the cot and come downstairs cos I really really can't take any more of his screaming. Am going to calm down for 10 mins then go back up if he is still at it. Nothing I do is calming him and I can feel myself getting stressed. I am tired, hungry and feel like shite with a headache and sore throat. COME HOME DH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jodie - sorry you feel pants not nice is it. My periods are a bit haywire so I know what you mean about feeling hormonal.

WilkieBarEasterEgg · 11/04/2007 19:07

Sorry about that last post. Have calmed down now, got my little man to sleep and put tea on. Tough few hours. xxxxx

becks5109 · 11/04/2007 19:36

Hello everyone - have been trying to keep up with the chatter but gosh its hard with you lot!

right need some words of wisdom - you'd think i'd have the hang of this motherhood thing by now as its my 2nd but my little man is not playing ball! He's gone from being pretty contented to being constantly grouchy and waking up every 3 hours in the night when he managed 6-8 hours a few weeks ago - what am i doing wrong?? I've resorted to calpol tonight as now convinced there's someting wrong with him as he's some miserable and its making me miserable too. I'm bfding him but constantly convinced i don't have enough milk but he's refuses a bottle. Are your babies content or do you have to carry/cuddle them all day? I always have to cuddle him to sleep as well and am getting paranoid that this will lead to bad habits. In fact think i'm getting paraonid about everything - feeling very fed up today.

ellieandhattie · 11/04/2007 19:41

Becks cant really offer any advice as not Bf but I am sure someone wiser than me will appear soon, however, you are a fab mum and not paranoid simply concerned.

Have a ( hug )

See said I wouldnt be very helpful

Nemo2007 · 11/04/2007 20:15

wilkie and jodie huge hugs to you both..it does get a bit much sometimes doesnt it. I have had days where I phoned DH and begged him ot come home before I walked out on the kids..lol Luckily[touchwood] as yet not had one of those moments since DD2 was born.Ds[3.6yrs] and DD1[16mths] seem to be behaving themselves although the run of good weather at the minute is helping a lot. I think I have also learnt now that sometimes I just have to let DD2 cry as there can be nothing she actually wants.

laughalot · 11/04/2007 20:31

I must say lauren is not a very content baby she likes being picked up all the time but its not possible when I have a toddler to look after aswell. My dd was going about 6/7 hours at night before next feed but then last week decided to start waking up at midnight and not setteling again however we have just discovered she has german measles so that is why. Becks is baby to hot/ cold ? I have noticed aswell with dd that if we go out of her site she starts crying I guess that is a sign of them getting bigger, she hasnt been bad today though shes been out in the garden with me.

JodieG1 · 11/04/2007 20:35

Ethan has just gone down so keeping fingers crossed he stays asleep for a while. Feeling a bit better now.

Wilkie - it's hard when they scream like that and you've done everything. You did the right thing though in putting him down and taking a break, when you get stressed it's better to do that I think Hope everything is still ok, recent post said you'd calmed down a bit.

Becks - my baby is the same, has to be cuddled and held most of the time. He could be having a growth spurt which would mean more sucking but it takes a day or two for your milk supply to increase. He'll be getting enough though, as long as he's alert, producing wet nappies then you will be giving him enough milk. My baby has never slept longer than 4 hours of a night but I do think that's very normal so nothing to worry about even if he was sleeping longer before, growth spurt could be waking him to feed also.

EAH - thanks, feeling a bit better now and we've had dinner.

Nemo - thanks, I've felt like that before too but not very often. Sometimes it does all just get too much.

becks5109 · 11/04/2007 21:38

Thanks everyoe - just had a takeaway and feeling alot better - think i was having a real low as hadn't eaten properly today so I'm feeling more rationale now! Its always good to know that we're all in the same boat. Think its a bit hard at the moment as DD1 is being a bit of a beast but I do feel sorry for her as i'm not giving her the attention she needs/deserves.

Laughalot your poor little one having measles.

Wilkie - I too often leave him to cry if I've had enough - sometimes he even manages to get to sleep by himself! He's in his new big boy cot tonight so i'm hoping that might help him sleep as he was getting a bit big for the moses basket!

Had a real hormone brain moment today as put his new cot together in the kitchen then couldn't get it up the stairs to had to dismantle it and start all over again!!

Here's hoping we all have a good night. I've decided if he keeps waking up i'm going back to letting him in the bed as its easier!

becks5109 · 11/04/2007 21:40

sorry me again! one more thing - anyone elses baby dribbling like mad? Nathan always seems to have a very dribbly, bubbly mouth - do you think thats a sign of teething or maybe wind? He also had a habit of shutting just one eye - my little pirate!

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 21:47

Becks, I am not letting myself believe that my LO is in any kind of routine yet. Its nice to think that they are, but I am sure that when I start relying on him to sleep through the night, eat every 3 hours and be content all the time, then when he doesnt I'll not know what to do. So, I am taking each day as it comes, keeping my fingers crossed that I am doing it right and counting my blessings when it goes to plan.
They are still so little, and growing so fast, any growth spurt is likely to throw everything off track. Your body will catch up with his demands. x
I find that a large bar of chocolate helps when it all gets a bit too much. Especially when acccompanied with a large glass of wine.
(I have just eaten a creme egg and a WHOLE EGG shell thing - ugh!)

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 21:48

Dylan dribbles like Wayne Rooney. Finally all those bibs are useful to me!

RGee · 11/04/2007 21:52

Becks - long time no hear. glad things are better after takeaway. Sorry, but pmsl about your cot....(bad RGeee). Blowing bubbles and sucking fist is the trend over here at the minute. Don't know if it;s a sign of teething. Anyone?

becks5109 · 11/04/2007 21:52

Lizzzombie - think i need to adopt your attitude and take each day as it comes as this is how i was at the beginning and it was all going really well. My trouble is i love being busy and getting loads of jobs done and I know I must rest whilst bf which is hard for me. You girls are such a great support - think i should have been on here more in the last few weeks and then i wouldn't have got myself into a state- so i expect you'll all be seeing alot more of me on here!

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 21:54

Honestly, chocolate & wine Becks. It really works for me. (I manage to keep busy too. Just coz I am BF doesnt mean I can't clean my loo every now and then!) x

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 21:59

teething1

teething2

I had no idea that teething could start so early.
(Jodie - see, am using your site!)

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 22:02

doh -

teething 1

theUrbanDryad · 11/04/2007 22:07

Zac dribbles a lot too - but then he does actually have a little tooth bud coming at the bottom. weirdo freak child of mine. i read somewhere that they can have the symptoms of teething months and months before they actually get a tooth. i cannot recommend Ashton & Parson's teething powder enough. i think i should be on comission! i actually persuaded a stranger in Boots to buy it!

theUrbanDryad · 11/04/2007 22:09

x posts Lizzz

you still haven't put me on MSN.

i know, you don't really like me do you?

well, i'm off to buy a compost bin....so ner.

Lizzzombie · 11/04/2007 22:13

UD - YES, I AM SHOUTING!
I emailed you via MN HQ to give you my hotmail address to add on, but didnt hear back. I dont have yours to add, I know it was on a thread earlier somewhere, and I tried to add it, but your name never came up on messenger, so I assumed you didnt want to be my friend.
[mega paranoid emotion!]
I promise I will msn you if I had your address!
Not now though as have to do a dream feed, and go to sleep. x
