Can a tongue tie operation not work?

DS had a tongue tie operation in hospital when he was three days old. But I'm now wondering if the cut was not deep enough or something like that. He's now nearly 5 weeks, still has trouble latching and he never sticks his tongue out. Is it possible for a tongue tie op not to work?

Hello I recently had a session with a private midwife who is an infant feeding specialist and she was saying that quite often the procedure has to be repeated as it's not done properly the first time. Can you go back to whoever did the frenulotomy and ask them to take another look? Or better still get a second opinion? Hope you get it sorted :)
