Mship for babygros fo go over cloth nappies have you tried Little Green Radicals? Only slightly cheaper than Frugi but they have regular sales and are much better over reusables than most brands.

Me624 · 26/09/2016 22:31

DS has had another bad day for eating, he barely touched his breakfast and lunch and got very cross in his high chair. The only way I managed to get a few spoons in him was to let him play with his food and smear porridge all over his high chair tray. I abandoned the idea of spoon feeding for tea and gave him finger foods which he did eat better. I don't know if this is just teething putting him off his food or a new display of independence meaning he doesn't want to be spoon fed! We will see ...

marmiteandcheeseplease · 27/09/2016 08:34

ooh interesting tip on the babygros french. We are having issues with compression leaks with our cloth at the moment and realised it's because the 6-9 month are a bit tight around her bum so have been using a vest extender but may have to check out that brand.

me it could be teeth, is he showing any other signs?

I think DD2 is teething again, her sleep has been a bit all over the place and she's been waking up at night but not wanting to feed, has red cheeks, chewing/biting everything. she already has her two bottom teeth so I was expecting a bit of a break from teething.. sigh

marmiteandcheeseplease · 27/09/2016 09:19

Hotmilk are having a sale on bras! I got an email about it, apparently 'members only' but I don't remember becoming a member. Maybe I signed up when I bought from them last time? Unfortunately they don't have a bra in my size :( I've noticed recently that my 32 bras have been a bit loose in the band recently. Haven't actually measured myself for a few months, so just checked the boob or bust website and apparently I'm a 28 HH Blush. Anyone know if there is a brand that sells 28 back and underwired and nursing bras? Think I might be asking for a bit much :-/

it's kind of depressing that my back size is so small (28inches) but my waist size is (relatively) massive (33 inches, just measured). My stomach muscles are still really badly separated despite me doing core work every day [cries].

TheMshipIsBack · 27/09/2016 09:22

french Thanks for the babygro tip! I'll check those out.

Purpleprickles · 27/09/2016 10:03

Confused hope you are ok after the fright of ds tumble. My ds also did this at a similar age and it is scary but it is an accident so don't beat yourself up.

Me same here for food this morning, the purée she loved yesterday and couldn't get enough of which is unheard of was treated like poison today. I also offered crumpet for the first time but she was very perturbed by the texture which was funny to watch. Thanks for saying the other day about bottles too, it is reassuring to here that I'm not the only one with big gaps sometimes.

I've probably said but we are having building work on our house which is all great having space to fit us all but I am so fucked off now with the constant noise. Today we are having new fire alarms fitted as part of the building regs so electricians are trudging about drilling in ceilings. I'm hiding in the front room rocking dd madly trying to keep her asleep.

TheMshipIsBack · 27/09/2016 13:06

It's FTM and the munchkin latch bottle for the win! T took a bottle of expressed milk from DH at lunch today. Phew.

sherazade · 27/09/2016 13:57

marmite I wear these bras and they are soooo comfy and only cost £10. The original retail price is much higher though. Although they are not under wired the support is good enough although my cup size is a little smaller than yours :

sherazade · 27/09/2016 13:58

mship thank goodness your dd took the bottle . Must be an immense relief .

QforCucumber · 27/09/2016 15:40

Does anyone have any recommendations for a rear facing next stage car seat? I don't even know where to start.

TheMshipIsBack · 27/09/2016 15:55

Q We had a BeSafe IZI 3 CombiFix for DS from 9 months till he hit the height limit at just over 3.5, and I loved it. It was massive and solid as a rock once it was locked down into the Isofix points. It could go forward facing with a seatbelt if needed, which was handy a few times. T has just gone into a Maxi Cosi 2way Pearl iSize on the Isofix base. It's top-rated from Which, a bit smaller which is nice in a small car. I would have preferred another BeSafe but they're quite pricey and we already had the Maxi Cosi base from T's infant seat.

QforCucumber · 27/09/2016 17:32

Oooo, also, do any of you expressers need any bm storage bags? I have about half a box of boots ones here which I can post out as they're of no use to me anymore.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 27/09/2016 18:49

Thanks for the recommendation Sher, I do actually have one of those and it is good, just not quite supportive enough (my boobs are ridiculous)

Glad she took a bottle mship!!! Weve just started dd2 on the doidy cup and it's going well, she spills a lot but seems happy enough drinking from it.

Dottydoodoo · 27/09/2016 22:48

Thankyou everyone and sorry again for the huge rant! It's a shame that there are so many of us who share my dilemma of having an unhelpful husband/partner. Fingers crossed that it will get easier for us all. Funnily enough DH did help out a bit more for a couple of days, maybe he could sense my ranty vibes!

Purple I love this thread too! At baby groups I always feel as if I am the bumbling struggling one even though DS is easy, it's always me who has a stupid question or has no muslin for the umpteenth time! It's nice to talk with some normal people!

Mship haha! My weaning pots are all safe in the freezer at the moment full of purées, best place for them!

Me and purple we have had exactly the same problem, DS has not been interested in his food for two days now and is off his milk too. I'm worried he's not taking enough of anything but he seems happy enough and is having plenty of wet and dirty nappies. I've also put it down to teething, like marmite he has got his bottom two teeth so thought we would get a bit of respite from it! Hey ho! I might try him with some calpol tomorrow and see if it helps him.

DS's favourite activity at the moment is shouting dada! That's what he does when I'm trying to feed him. He has also taken to being wide awake at 4.30am, no noise, no crying, just lying wide awake in his cot. He has settled himself back to sleep both times but it's very strange. I'm off to bed now so we will see what tonight will bring!

Pannacott · 28/09/2016 12:32

Hi everyone, I was temporarily on these threads during pregnancy and when my dd was born but I've not been on, I find them tricky to keep up with! I've also got a 3 year old dd. I'm also struggling with weaning - it's so messy. We're co-sleeping and that's mostly fine but she does wake up in the night and needs to be boobfed back to sleep, usually a couple of times a night but sometimes more, which I'd like to knock on the head a bit. And daytime naps are not great - my first would sleep for hours in the day and I had loads of time to myself, but this one does 35 mins only, needs to be breastfed to sleep and sometimes only naps twice a day now. But mostly I'm pretty lucky and she is very good-natured. And fortunately my partner is supportive and helpful.

One of the main reasons for popping back in was to ask if there is a facebook group, and if so can I be added? I'm on the one for my first dd and find it really helpful, and it just pops up automatically so makes remembering to check in and keep up easier. Are you all on it? Hope so! You seem lovely :)

Trinpy · 28/09/2016 12:33

Glad to hear your dh has been more helpful Dotty. Hopefully things will improve from now on.

Q I second the recommendation of the 2 way Pearl. Its expensive but one of the best for safety.

Ha! Sher I had that bra when ds1 was a baby. It is probably the most unsexy, unflattering thing I've ever worn but such good value for money and does the job!

I may need you all to talk some sense into me over the next few days. Dh is taking ds1 to visit PiLs for 5 days from tomorrow. Its the first time I've been away from him for that long (ds not dh!) and the first time he's been abroad without me. I was feeling ok about it but now its getting so near I've gone into crazy 'what if..?' mode and keep imaginaging all the awfil things that could happen!

confusedlilly · 28/09/2016 15:53

Ooo is there a Facebook group? May I be added? X

FirstTimeMummy25 · 28/09/2016 17:20

Mship I'm glad the munchkin latch bottles worked for youSmile they were the only ones DS would take at the beginning.
I've completely finished breastfeeding now and DS is on 3 meals a day but dropping his milk rapidly?! I'm just taking his lead at the moment until it becomes a problem... That's if it does.
Looking forward to wearing normal bras again once my boobs have settled down and being able to go to bed without breastpads or a bra on!! Hope all is well with everyone. We are on holiday at the moment and DS sleep is terrible!! Hopefully it gets better! Oh and he has his 2 front bottom teeth!! Could be a contributing factor to his shit sleep!

Me624 · 28/09/2016 19:30

I seem to remember that someone set up a fb group back when we were all on the antenatal threads? Quite early on and a lot of people left this thread completely and went over there, I prefer to stay on the more anonymous MN though!

Trinpy I'm sure ds1 will have a fab time away with DH and hopefully it's a bit of a break for you when you only have one to look after? I completely understand though, 5 days seems like a long time!

MShip hooray that T has finally given in and taken a bottle! One of my NCT group has been having the same battle and finally cracked it as well.

DS has slept for England today, he had an hour long nap this morning and then a three hour nap this afternoon! Yes, you read that right, three hours!!! He has never napped for that long in his life before. He missed lunch and by the time he woke up it was nearly teatime. He's still gone down tonight at 7 as normal so maybe he's going through a growth spurt.

He happily ate his breakfast and tea today after 3 days of food refusal so hopefully whatever that little phase was is over! Purple I hope your DD is back to eating well too!

QforCucumber · 28/09/2016 19:31

ftm ds is fully formula fed now too, has been for about 2 weeks. My first new bras have arrived and I am in love! Underwires and an actual good fit - yay. He's on 4 x 7oz a day (every 4 hours) but the last 2 days has gone down to 5 Oz for a couple of those feeds so think we are going to be reducing too.

Thanks for the seat recommendations will hAve a look now I have a starting point. Had a huge fight with the cabriofix cover today as removal to wash is not as easy as their stupid manual makes out.

1frenchfoodie · 28/09/2016 22:34

Mship great news on the bottle, really must check DD will still take a bottle as I am back to work in 3 weeks. Noting your car seat points too, something else for the to do list...

DD not herself, cried unconsolably in the pram yesterday out of the blue, ditto today when she bumped her head and just took 90+ mins to get to sleep. More teeth I suspect. Separately she has decided to just scream at DH when he tries to settle her at night which we need to solve or I will be glued to her cot every night Sad.

Bit of a parenting fail last night. DH pulled up the cotbed side as she was hauling herself up on it. I fed her in the dark in the middle of the night then went to pop her back in, misjudged (aka completely forgot about) the new height and swung her headfirst at the bars. Big clunk but she was sleeping like her mum (used to) and didn't make a peep. Phew.

Q I'd be grateful for the bags if you have no other takers. Either way you've reminded me to get more before I go back to work Smile

FTM I am looking forward to the day I am back in normal bras. One big bonus of going back to work soon is wearing all the clothes I can't BF in - a good 80% of my wardrobe as it turns out. Means stripping to express during the day but worth it I think.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 29/09/2016 07:16

Q - just reading about your new bras weirdly makes me excited to purchase my own! I'm looking forward to some decent support, nothing worse in my opinion then having unsupported boobs so bloody roll on!! See DS will wake up have breakfast about 7:30 then I'll offer a bottle and he will only have 3-4oz he will then go until lunch 11:30/12ish and have lunch and again only take 3-4oz then he might do 6ish oz about 3ish then dinner at 5ish and won't take any milk after then I give him a bottle for bed but he only take 4 oz max. He does wake up during the night for milk and over the course of the night may take 6-8 oz but I'm stuck on what to do really. The HV said to feed solid before milk but I'm worried he's not getting enough and maybe should do milk then solids? Who knows!!
French thinking about it I think I have quite a few expressing bags at home too if you want them as well?!

QforCucumber · 29/09/2016 07:28

French message me your address and I'll pop them in the post today for you Smile

ftm I do solids after milk, generic routine is wake 6, milk 6:30ish, breakfast 7ish. nap at 8. Milk at 10:30. Lunch 12:30isH dependent on nap. Milk at 2:30. Teatime 4:30 and last bottle at 6:30 ready for bed. He doesn't feed between 6:30-6:30 now at all. He has a sippy cup of water with his meals which he probably has an Oz or so from each time.

FirstTimeMummy25 · 29/09/2016 08:23

I just did milk before breakfast this morning and still only took 4 ounces?!

QforCucumber · 29/09/2016 08:55

ftm total amounts over 24 hours look similar to R though. He goes between 23-28oz in a day. If your ds is still having some through the night too it looks like a similar total if that makes any sense?
