I've got Logan in the buggy bit but it does go flat so he can sleep in it, he's quite content snoozing in there

Hey lovelies,

Hope everyone is well, we had injections today such a necessary evil. Poor Raff is struggling a bit this evening have booked the next lot in for the morning to give us slightle more recovery time before bed and to stop the panic to get back for the school run!

Speaking of the school run does anyone elses little one think 8.45 and 3.15 are the perfect time to feed!! We are making it by the skin of our teeth some days - I need to crack the sling feeding.

Loving all the bottle chat I am just about to plunge into the world of bottles and expressing I really have to as I am taking my DD to see the Harry Potter play for her birthday (in 3 bloody weeks - where does time go) and DH and Raffy are waiting whilst we are in the theatre and the way this boy eats I don't think he will manage the 2.5 hours without a feed especially for the second part which is right in his evening eating time! Tickets were booked before Raff became a reality though so we must make it work (plus I love HP too and actually cannot wait)

Sock - we only have a buggy - don't use it much and it is not a fancy one but Raffy seems to like it, it lays flat but when we stop I tend to sit him up as he is nosy.. as he gets bigger I may invest in one I can jog with.

Julf - I just wanted to give you a virtual high 5 after reading your post on your anxiety you should totally be smug about all your achievements I hope yours and jaspers homecoming is still going well :)

Blue - you have been the most committed breastfeeder ever! If only there were awards for feeding, I think I may have switched if I had even half of your difficulties..

Anna - best intentions with healthy eating here and it is mostly ok (ish) cake is an important food group in my life - I just need to up my exercise to cope with my eating ha ha

Welcome Elfin, I too have a radiator for a baby, he has spent much of his short life in a nappy only.

I am keeping my fingers crossed this boy begins to feel better asap, he is trying his best to be cheery as well.

Just realised my last post went through 3 times, and I now feel like a numpty. Ah well.

If any of you ladies want some advice/help with bottles, give me a shout and I'll try to help.

Little man is comfortably snuggled in bed (finally with clothes on, it's started to get a bit breezy and chilly in the south east of hell) and he's had a decent day. I, however, have not - well, yes and no. Found out I do actually have an anxiety disorder of some form, which when it's bad, brings out some bits of psychosis and paranoia. So, lovely psych lady is putting me back on anti psychotics to try and calm it down a bit more so I can cope. And I love my hubby, not a lot of men who'd drop work to look after their wife and child full-time.

elfen101 · 14/09/2016 22:18

Also, obligatory newborn to current pic update.

Horrible injection day. Had a sleepy, screaming, hot little boy. Lay on us moaning and whimpering at times too. Temp got to 38.5. Dosed up on calpol. Asleep at the min but I'm too worried to go sleep.
Loving the advise and gossip ladies even though don't post often.
Blue - can't believe how much you've persevere with feeding. Well done you. Xx

Cheery1 · 15/09/2016 07:18

Thanks all for bottle advice. I am
Currently clueless so all thoughts welcome!

julf - not sure who that little character is on Mo's babygrow. It's a polarn o pyret outfit, so I'm guessing it's a Swedish sprite of some kind?!

Jabs yesterday and Mo very hot and sleepy all day. Still pretty grumpy this morning after not much sleep! Hoping he calms down a bit today - shattered!!

Cheery1 · 15/09/2016 07:20

elfen that's great that your hubby is looking after you and the baby. Sounds like you're doing brilliantly with everything, and that support is so important x

birchybaby2 · 15/09/2016 11:59

I feel your pain cheery. Let's hope they feel better today. D has been asleep since the school run so hoping brighter when wakes. Had smiles this morning so an improvement. Xxx

Cookiesandcoffee · 15/09/2016 12:59

This is a quick catch up while dd2 is swimming and G feeding

sock we have two pushchairs and G has been in a 'seat' this week but also still uses the pram (he'll soon be too long!) he really enjoyed it!

Welcome elfen Logan is so scrummy

anna we've also been stripping down to nothing a lot. The amount of baby grows which will go unworn is so depressing.

julfin you sound like you're acing feeding at the mo! I've found a similar success with a more 'upright' feeding position. He seems much happier and doesn't want to 'lie down' ? Great tips on the Caboo, as soon as it's not 1000 degrees I'm going to try again. Had a quick go last night but he slipped down before I could even make a drink of water and we were both just hot and sweaty. Thanks for the add, I feel like things are gradually getting better here, how are you doing? Sounds like you're literally 'queening' everything at the mo!

cheery he hates the bugaboo?! Uh ohh!! Thanks on sling jnfo.. I'm still thinking of getting an ergo360 but wondering if you can get it without newborn insert? (Being cheap and trying to save money) I just can't fit getting to a sling meet unfortunately- none are near enough to fit into my hectic school/nursery time scale.

sock you can get mam self sterilising bottles if you have a microwave? (Sorry this is no help if you don't, ive never stayed in one) this is what I plan on doing when we go away. Rather than lug extra kit. Yes to the gin. I've never declared a pushchair!

Weight loss: I got measured yesterday and I've lost 13 inches this week - 5 inches from my waist, which I'm super pleased with. Not focusing on weight (boobs surely weigh a stone each?!)

Cheery1 · 15/09/2016 17:17

Bloody well done cookies! 5 inches?!!! Brilliant. I'm inspired. I've put on a stone and a half from fighting weight and am at a loss as to how I'll lose it post c-sec and sleep deprived. I need sugar!!!! If you can get a ergo without insert on eBay I'd do it. Reckon you'll get one for about £40 - less than half price!

Cheery1 · 15/09/2016 17:19

birchy - Mo has a bit of a temperature so getting him checked at GP. He's had so much medication in his little life, I wonder whether the jabs have hit him harder. Heat doesn't help! Can't wait for it to be a bit cooler!

Cheery1 · 15/09/2016 17:20

cookies any weight loss tips so welcome - how you're doing it with other children plus new baby I do not know. I've got no excuse!

elfen101 · 15/09/2016 17:27

Cheery - Logan had a temperature and was having trouble in the bum department, we ended up having to go to the paediatric unit to be told he's got constipation, but lactulose sorted him out and he's been good ever since - he had a temp and was really grumpy and crying a lot more than normal too.

Also, if any of you ladies get nuby bottles and the tommee tippee variflow teats - they fit in them too. How I know these things is my mum buying all of the teats for little man to see if they fit. Hopefully he'll get the hang of them too.

As you can tell, mr man went to see his nanny and granddad today - he got spoilt as per with new babygros, books, and lots of nanny snuggles. (I also got him more babygros as they're 3-6 months, you can never have too many and they are cute)

primarynoodle · 15/09/2016 17:35

Fantastic cookies :)

Arghhhhhh have had deep pain in boobs over last couple of days and pain feeding for the first time. This afternoon felt one boob with a lump in so went to docs who told me I'm just engorged... no explanation for shooting pains or feeding pains and Annie has been feeding as per all week so not sure why she thinks the lump is engorgement HmmHmm it's so constantly sore!!!

Annie has had major sleep regression, can't get her to wake in the day much and she's awake all night, hoping it's just the heat and she'll go back to her brill sleeping pattern when it cools... feeling like I did in the very newborn stage at the mo!

Anyway moan over, in other more cheery news I bought swim nappies today ready for swimming on Saturday eeeeeek! What's everyone else been up to?

Rubytuesday2980 · 15/09/2016 19:14

Hey Ladies,

Welcome Elfen, sounds like he's got some fab grandparents Smile

Cookies that is some amazing waist shrinkage, well done. My boobs certainly feel like they're a stone each, now have an urge to try to weigh them...

Boo to unhappy, hot, recently jabbed babies, hope they all feel better soon.

bluebell and julfin, you two are an inspiration and should both be so proud of persevering xx

primary that sounds a bit odd re engorgement at this stage, maybe feed through for a day or two and then go back if not better? Are there any BF support groups near you?

Ok, questions:

  1. Baby acne that has turned a bit yellows and scaly - is this standard baby weirdness or should I do something about it?
  2. Grobags. Fricking massive length-wise. Do I just leave the excess or tuck it somewhere? Gong to try one out tomorrow night when it's cooler.

Second baby sensory sesh tomorrow, looking forward to that and am going to be brave and ask a couple of the other mums if they'd like to go for coffee after Hmm

ruby - the scaly is normal, logan had it on his head, we just used a flannel and massaged it as we did his hair, it came off eventually!

Both sets of grandparents are fab, couldn't ask for better. Whereas i have sir grumblebum asleep on me as he wouldn't settle for daddy - one handed typing ahoy!

beckslovestimmy · 15/09/2016 19:46

Ooh I'll do a birth to now comparison.

How is mo now Cheery? Raff is still suffering with impressive long range vomiting after feeding and still not feeding as much as normal but his temp finally went about 3/4 this afternoon. Hopefully back to his normal self tomorrow.

Argh Primary that sounds strange and irritating about the boobs! We are swimming tomorrow I am really looking forward to it but slightly sad Dh won't be there.

Cookies that's amazing, I also never weigh myself but may measure myself tomorrow to give myself a kick up the bum

Sounds like you have an awesome support network Elfen :) it's so important takes a village to raise a child I think this is so true and you can really see all the other external influences as they grow which is pretty cool (my DD is 9)

MrsRolly · 15/09/2016 20:32

Also loving give baby comparison pics too cute!

Ruby I love love that sleepsuit where is it from?

elfen101 · 15/09/2016 20:35

rolly dont know if it's the same one as ruby's but I got one from Tesco...Also, we try, it can be hard cos I am bit more crazy than most people, but I have hubby, I have Logan, I have family. We will get there (and them we'll probably be getting ready to try for number 2)

socktastic · 15/09/2016 20:49

Just want to say thanks to you all for the travelling advice. Started drawing up my list tonight - even though still over a month to go. I think I'll be uptight the whole time but at least I'll be prepared!
