Lol @ frenchfoodies stranger touching backed goods... I'm always grateful when I get assistance in coffee shops.. And we spend more time in those In three months than in my life until now!!

Can't believe there is a March 2017 thread oh they've got a long wait! T is growing up so fast, on the move although not quite perfected the roll and babbling away.. I was going to ask what you guys did for sitting up, she's getting more restless sitting on me and loves her mat but looks like the jumperoo is popular.. off to eBay!!

1frenchfoodie · 22/06/2016 13:56

vroc we have no jumperoo space, plus our puppy would see it as entertainment for him, so we got a bouncy chair (which we have up on coffee table, again due to puppy..). We went for jubilant jungle, £29 at mothercare though it isn't tbh, as upright as we originally thought. E likes it though, especially the vibrate function..

vroc81 · 22/06/2016 14:25

french we have a bouncy chair we were given she enjoys but like yours she's not very upright.. She's also quickly growing out of it as its not one of the bigger ones that changes as they do or anything and she's starting to want to nosy around.. It's like the pram top on our buggy I'm trying to hold out as long as possible swapping it to the buggy it seems too grown up.

Swearwolf · 22/06/2016 21:54

I noticed that March thread too, it hasn't quite been a year for me as I had a bleed I thought was the blob so didn't test until the end of July. Still, time flies eh.

I have a question! Has anyone been to the cinema with the baby yet? I'm taking ds to see the new pixar one on Friday afternoon and am unsure of the logistics - can I take the pram in? I'll have to drive so she'll be in her car seat and I never want to wake her up. I thought I might take the sling but that's hard to sit down in if she goes to sleep. I figured I'd feed lots and sit on an end of a row if we need to leave (mil and sil will be there with ds). Just don't know what to carry the baby in!

Purpleprickles · 23/06/2016 11:03

Hello all- I've been lurking too. Q your story just made me cry but I'm having a bad start to the day so am a bit emotional anyway. That was so lovely of the lady! Swear not quite a year for me either I think I found out around the 20th July because of the mmc it didn't even occur to me I could be pregnant again.

So today the weather is awful, it was supposed to be ds sports day. The weather has been predicted to be awful all week but sports day was going ahead. So I sent ds to the childminders (he still goes some days to retain his place) in his pe kit and then get a text message from the school at 8.24 to say sports day cancelled please come in uniform. So I rush to the childminders because being in the wrong clothes will really upset ds and get this changed. Get home and E spends the next 45 mins screaming with hunger but refusing to feed. I ended up leaving her in the pram and having a shower because she wouldn't be soothed and we were both getting hotter and hotter. She's now asleep and I'm sitting on the floor with a banging headache feeling like it should be 5pm. Confused

Aside from today we have been having lovely days. She has a temper though, does anyone else's baby get really annoyed when they can't grab the toy they want or get it in their mouth? She doesn't cry she actually shouts or makes a noise like a dog barking. I think she is going to be a hot head.

Maybebabybee · 23/06/2016 11:06

purple my DS shouts instead of crying!!

He's 14 weeks old today and doesn't really show much interest in grabbing toys. Doesn't put anything in his mouth except his fists. Should he be??

FS84 · 23/06/2016 12:16

Hey, hope it's ok to join. My wee boy is 14 weeks :-)

Maybebabybee · 23/06/2016 12:28

Welcome Smile

Timetogrowup2016 · 23/06/2016 12:51

Maybe-
Dd is 18 weeks (13 corrected) and has no interest in grabbing things. She does look at her toys though.
I wouldn't worry

Penguins89 · 23/06/2016 13:26

Hi hope it's ok for me to join, my DS is now 13 weeks. He's a proper chunk that would happily feed all day and night!

FS84 · 23/06/2016 13:26

Thanks!

DS isn't overly interested in grabbing either. He's starting doing it a little when he's on his playmat but that's it really.

He's been sleeping most of the morning which is v unusual. One day he'll dodge naps so much and then this!

ffauxlivia · 24/06/2016 11:48

Hi all, I've been absent but reading still. It's 5.45am here and I've been up for hours reeling from the referendum result. Genuinely worried about bringing baby back to the UK and what it will mean for her future. Mind you anything has got to be better than living here under Trump Confused

Anyway will be back for a proper catch up soon!

Swearwolf · 24/06/2016 12:45

I know ffaux, I'm gutted. Everyone I've spoken to feels the same, I have no idea who all these brexiters are! My county voted remain though. I'm worried for our financial future, I think we're about to enter years of recession, and we were finally at the point of being able to move from our tiny flat!!

ffauxlivia · 24/06/2016 13:26

I know one Brexiter, my (foreign-born non-tax paying) MIL, who voted Leave because she couldn't get a GP appointment for 2 weeks, due to the (tax-paying) immigrants. I tried to explain the burden of the ageing population on the NHS but she was having none of it.

Now her granddaughter has potentially lost a lot of the travel privileges and opportunities she herself has benefitted from. It also has huge implications for my DH's work situation as he works in scientific research in an area which has relied heavily on European funding. We could be coming back next year with neither of us in a job, in a possible recession and a baby to support Shock Worst case scenario but hard to see positives right now

Purpleprickles · 24/06/2016 13:51

Gutted here too swear and Ffaux I've been in front of the tv most of the day, managed to drag myself out for baby sensory. Just worry for futures and what will happen to services like the NHS. Hate seeing people going on and on about immigrants too. It's so nasty and not the kind of country I want to raise my children in. My bro and his gf live and work in Holland, not sure of their futures and whether they will need to come back. My other bro's gf is from Asia and lives and works here incredibly hard as a neo-natal nurse.

Saw a bloke being interviewed on the tv who voted leave and he said "I didn't think leave would win. I'm shocked and worried now". Wonder how many other leavers feel that way

TheMshipIsBack · 24/06/2016 13:53

We're in Scotland, so for us the crazy is just beginning. DH and I are discussing our exit plans - we're Canadian citizens and our families are there, but are also naturalized British citizens having spent most of our adult lives here. I suspect we'll be selling up over the course of the next couple of years and moving back to Canada. I'm in science research too, ffaux, and it's going to be grim in a few years.

MrsElls · 24/06/2016 14:35

Unfortunately I don't think this should have ever been a decision for the public to make, there's far too many variables and unknowns. No one knows what will happen when we leave so its undeniably a gamble, I personally just wish people had gambled with something less important than our children's future.

scaredmum2be · 24/06/2016 15:31

my mil voted leave because she wanted to do the opposite of what ever cameron wanted.
ffs. ive not spoke to one leave supporter who had a genuine well thought out argument to leave the eu.
idiots. gambling with our futures, our childrens, and our grand childrens !

scaredmum2be · 24/06/2016 15:32

bloody hell.
time here didnt realise the pc was still logged into this account. i always use my ipad

1frenchfoodie · 24/06/2016 17:18

Had expected close vote but remain result, really taken aback that E will not be brought up as an EU citizen. We move to France next year for a 4 year stretch, luckily I am fairly certain my job there is secure.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 24/06/2016 17:27

Am also pretty gutted about the result. Amongst many other reasons, me and DH work in academia and being cut off from the EU is a big blow for funding and potential jobs (DH is on fixed term contract at the moment from EU funding). My county also voted remain but I'm in the south east so to be expected. Genuinely can't believe people who voted leave saying they didn't really think it would happen.. erm what?

Onto baby chat... DD2 is 14 weeks (yesterday) and just this week has started actually grabbing for toys. All of a sudden just started taking a massive interest in them and will put stuff in her mouth (or try to!). She gets really mad when on her play mat of she can't grab the toy! It's really cute.

Me624 · 24/06/2016 18:57

I'm shocked and gutted by the result. Always been very pro EU and like french I just can't believe DS is going to grow up not being part of it.

DS is 16 weeks now. He grabs the toys hanging above him if he's on his playmat. If he's on the floor or in his bouncy chair he'll take a toy from me if I hand it to him but won't yet pick it up himself. He rolled himself front to back once and back to front a few times about 2 weeks ago but since then has shown virtually no interest in rolling at all, despite my encouragement!

We're putting him in his cot in his own room for the very first time tonight, eek. It's a very tight squeeze in his Moses basket and we've had a couple of really bad nights this week where he's kept me awake for hours with his thrashing around in his sleep. So we'll see how it goes. I think I'm going to miss him!!

Swearwolf · 24/06/2016 19:38

Dd is also grabbing at the toys on her play mat at 14 weeks, she has been for a while but has got really involved in the last couple of weeks. Her absolute favourite, though, is watching us eat, she loves it! Her first real laugh was watching her brother (her most favourite person) eat some beans Grin

QforCucumber · 24/06/2016 20:29

Welcome newbies Grin
1french I don't care who touches my scone if it's getting buttered (pahahahah my mind has turned that sentence into filth)
purple don't cry, have Wine instead Smile
Ref grabbing ds has a toy thing across the car seat which he grabs at then magically falls asleep once he has hold of it. Other than that it's more hitting things than grabbing - he'll be 14 weeks tomorrow.

me how are you making the move? I've tried putting ds in his cot for naps but he will only stay asleep if I rock him in my arms 1st then lower him in once asleep. He's started going 9pm-4:00 and 4:30-7:30 which is really good but he's getting too big for the basket and wakes himself up trying to stretch.

QforCucumber · 24/06/2016 20:30

mship after spending a year on van island I always said I'd retire there, looking tempting to head out now!
