maybe nah, you're within the normal range. I usually get a 3-4 hour stretch of out T at the start of the night, then every 2-3ish. Last night was 8:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30. We co-sleep and she doesn't actually feed a lot at most of those, maybe half a normal feed, so I know she doesn't need it, but I don't mind for now. She'll be going into her cot in our room soon as she's getting too wriggly, and I expect she'll sleep longer stretches when she can't smell me right next to her.

Wingingitdaily · 18/06/2016 11:12

We have moved the cot into our room there was just enough space. Dd moves all round it during the night she seems to love the space.
Spain was way to hot 37 most days! Dd and myself got heat rash but was lovely to get to introduce her to her great nan (well dh introduced them as I don't speak Spanish lots of hand gestures were required)

Maybebabybee · 18/06/2016 11:35

DS has been in his cot since the start, in our room. In the sleepyhead though. It's at the far end of our room so I have to get out of bed to get him and feed him in the night but the layout of our room means he can't be right next to our bed unfortunately.

QforCucumber · 18/06/2016 14:16

Ds will be in his own room at about 4/5 months as cot won't fit in ours and at 13 and a half lbs hes getting too big for the basket.
I lay him in the cot during the day but he won't sleep in it without being rocked to sleep first then lowered in so may be a struggle Hmm
We were getting a 10-4 sleep then 4:30-6:30 and 7-8:30 but since his jabs he's been awake every 2.5/3 hours Sad he won't go down before 9pm either no matter how much we try.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 18/06/2016 17:18

We moved Dd2 into her cot last week as she'd outgrown the bednest. She instantly slept better so think she was uncomfortable in the bednest as it was too small. Whoops! The cot fits at the end of our bed so I can just crawl to the end, feed her whilst sat up, put her back in cot and then crawl back to sleep! Not sure when we will move her out of our room as dd1 is such an awful sleeper and often wakes up v early and would wake her. But I wouldn't mind having our room back!

RhubarbAndMustard · 18/06/2016 20:42

I want to move J into his own room as I'm certain DP's snoring wakes him up! The only thing is, his room is at the other side of the house to our bedroom and we would have to walk past DS1's room to get to him. I nervous about it waking DS1 up but think we are just going to have to go for it.
Sometimes I send DP to the spare room so that he can get some sleep so that He doesn't wake J up.

Woodenmouse · 18/06/2016 21:15

D will be in our room for a long time because he who have to share a room with his brother and although D is sleeping through the night I don't trust ds1 not to smother him by putting toys etc in his cot.

Me624 · 19/06/2016 20:36

Hope everyone has had a nice Father's Day. We didn't do anything special as dh thinks it's pointless until DS is old enough to make him a card etc!

DS has slept for England today. He is not normally a particularly good napper during the day so I'm not sure what's brought it on - a growth spurt or developmental leap maybe.

Rhu dh doesn't snore but I'm sure us moving about in bed etc is waking DS up sometimes too. However the main reason for moving him will be so I can sleep better without all the grunting! I'll have to get the settings on the monitor just right - loud enough that I'll hear him if he needs me but not so loud that he might as well still be right there next to me!

1frenchfoodie · 20/06/2016 09:02

Apologies to those who had a rubbish night but finally, after weeks of 2-3 feeds a night and grunty flailing from 6 E went from 11.30 to 6.30 and is still quietly asleep after going back down. My head finally feels clear!! My NCT gang are all seemingly getting a full nights sleep as the rule, not the exception and the other baby in the family - my stepson's latest - slept through from 8 weeks (6 weeks for his older sister) so had to tell somebody who would understand!

I'm not counting my chickens though, she went 11-5 for over a week from week 9 and then started back with multiple night feeds.

RhubarbAndMustard · 20/06/2016 09:25

That's great news French. We too had a great night. J did his first 12 hour sleep 8pm-8am. Yay! Grin
However, he did bring up most of his first feed this morning meaning I had to completely change- even underwear!

Maybebabybee · 20/06/2016 10:06

Still on 3 hourly feeds at night here. I don't mind them tbh, he goes down quietly for the night at 7pm which I love as it means DP and I have the evening to ourselves and can eat a meal in peace, and then when he does wake he only wants to feed and immediately goes back to sleep.

I'm very worried about the four month sleep regression though - anyone else??

QforCucumber · 20/06/2016 10:26

I'm with you maybe ds slept last night 8:30pm - 7:30 am with 2 wakes for feeding and straight back to sleep. Dreading him losing this niceness but I've definitely begun to appreciate sleep haha. Did manage to get him to have his first nap in the big cot this morning, after rocking to sleep first - still wont settle himself for his daytime naps and they still only last 30 mins.

Having a clear out today, bagged up all ds's newborn and 0-3 clothes - only for the loft though they're not going far.

He's 3 months old now and seems so big, looked at a jumperoo this morning online too but does anyone know how long they use them for and recommend them? He already has a playmat with lights and sounds, and a vibrating musical rocker chair so don't know if he really needs one, they look good though.

Maybebabybee · 20/06/2016 10:29

I really want a jumperoo as he likes to be upright - gets a bit fed up on his back all the time. But we have a tiny flat so not sure I can justify it unless we get rid of something else first.

QforCucumber · 20/06/2016 10:37

Same here maybe - his playmat folds flat and goes beyond the sofa, the chair gets tucked behind a door when not in use lol, hate being cluttered but like yours ds isn't much a fan of being laid down (also from your other thread - he hates being held like a baby now, prefers being upright and seeing what's going on) it's a lot to spend though, may have a look on Gumtree and see If there's any on there. We don't hve the space for him to ever have a baby walker really so jumperoo may be instead of a walker.

Swearwolf · 20/06/2016 13:13

maybe, we're in a little flat too with no jumperoo space, so I had a doorway bouncer instead for ds. He loved it so much! They're much cheaper too Smile

Reasonable sleep here, we're getting a first stretch of 5-7 hours with a wake up around 4, then often through til 6.30 when ds gets up.

I'm also dreading the four month sleep regression, it hit us hard with ds and he went to hourly wakings which lasted for months. It did coincide with moving him to his own room though - neither of us was ready, but sil and I had stupidly gone halves on the Moses basket and she needed it so we had to. This time I've got a compact cot crammed into our room which should last until she's one. We only have two bedrooms and there's no way I'm putting her in with the boy if she's still waking up at night!

Woodenmouse · 20/06/2016 13:22

We have a jumperoo that someone lent us. It's stuffed in the shed at the moment Dex is only 14 weeks so I don't think he's old enough for it yet but it's going to take up half of the living room. the other half is knee deep in ds1s toys

Dh has an unexpected day off today so I left ds1 and dh at home and took Dex to a baby group when I got home they were gone. Turns out he's driven to Birmingham (an hour away) to pop in and see an old mate and now he's taken ds1 to a restaurant I've wanted to visit for ages. Dex is asleep so I'm about to do some house work! Yeay for me!!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 20/06/2016 19:15

Weve got a jumperoo from when we had dd1 and she loved it. Used it from about 4 and a half months till she was maybe 9 months old? Worth every penny!

Nights are still very variable here, dd2 goes down 6.30-7 and has 1 or 2 wakes a night but last night it was three and apparently she's in a new developmental leap according to the wonder weeks app (joy). I don't mind so much as she goes down quickly after feeding and me and DH have our evenings together (once dd1 is down at 8...)

Had an annoying chat with co author today who keeps hassling me to do some work on our shared research project. When I suggested she do something she's been asking me to do (but which I have had no time for, obviously) she complained that she had 'no time' because she has so much other work to do and insinuated that if I left her to do it I want pulling my weight on the project. Of course she has no kids so is completely clueless and I'm sure she thinks I'm just off having a jolly, conveniently forgetting I have a little person I'm responsible for 24/7 and much of that by myself! Angry

Maybebabybee · 20/06/2016 21:01

DS in a new leap too (leap 4, the one that apparently lasts an arsing month!). He's been sooo grumpy today - protesting every time I put him down. He'll only tolerate the sling for about 20 minutes tops so my arms are killing me!

He's asleep now but fuck knows how long that will last

QforCucumber · 21/06/2016 07:42

Hope you got a good stretch of sleep maybe

I have discovered that leaving the white noise playing quietly all night gives us longer sleep - last night was 9-4 then 4:15-7:00. Also following ffaux sleep advice sheet thing, making sure he always has a nap within 2 hours of waking up and a nap at about 6pm.
Thanks for the jumperoo tips, may get one - may not, will give it a few weeks to decide.

dobbythedoggy · 21/06/2016 08:53

We love our jumperoo! Dd used it from about 5 months until 11 1/2 months. It was worth every penny but we did try her in one at mothercare before investing such a big sum. Just got it out for eddy as he loves to stand, he probably isn't quite big enough for it yet. He looks so diddy in it but seems comfortable with a big pillow under his feet. The big smile on his face at being upright and able to see everything is priceless.

Last night he suddenly mastered flipping from his tummy to his back. He is delighted with himself everytime he does it then trys to get back to his tummy and gets really frustrated when he can't get all the way over. As soon as his put back on his tummy he flips again and the while process is restarted!

MrsElls · 21/06/2016 18:58

Hey everyone, been lurking! Sorry to those of you still having lots of night wake ups. Luckily here C has been sleeping through for a while now, not sure how I would cope with 2 of them on no sleep.

dobby my ds used to do that, roll onto his tummy then realise he hated it but couldn't roll back!

Timetogrowup2016 · 22/06/2016 09:18

Just a drop in.
But omg theirs a march 2017 thread on ante natal. Feels like just yesterday but also so long ago that we where all back over their.

QforCucumber · 22/06/2016 09:41

Wow that's unbelievable - I saw a picture today of a night out for my friends birthday a year ago and was thinking I'll have been 3 weeksish pregnant then!

A lady yesterday almost made me cry with kindness, was In m and s cafe and literally just as I sat down ds woke up and demanded feeding, latched him on and realised I'd have to wait to butter my cheese scone as only had one hand free. An elderly lady must have seen me looking longingly at my scone as she came over and did it for me, he had been a whingy nightmare all morning and I only went out to get out of the house so her kindness almost pushed me over the edge of emotional breakdowns haha. Much nicer little boy today so think he just had an off day.

DomesticAnarchist · 22/06/2016 09:46

Wow, it's been a year already?!

I've got that nostalgia now! I didn't have it with DS1, but now DS2 is our last. I'm both glad that I'll never have to POAS again, and also a bit sad that I'll never do it again. Same with tiny baby cuddles (he's already so big!) and everything else.

I've been really struggling with the lack of sleep. DS2 is pretty good. He wakes to feed at midnight, 3 and 5. But I've only been managing about 4 hours sleep around this. So had another go at feeding lying down yesterday/overnight and Oh My Goodness it actually worked and we both slept sooo much better! (He did puke in my bed, but that's what you get for no burping or gaviscon overnight!).

Hope everyone's all good! BrewChocolate

1frenchfoodie · 22/06/2016 12:00

dom I am a huge lying down feeding fan, not burping either means she'll go straight back to sleep. We have had 2 mega pukes this way, once in bed and once all over her moses basket but she seems less windy at night for some reason.

time march 2017 already, how time flies. Both my sister and only female cousin are due before the end of this year so at 9 months old by Christmas E will already be old hat. Our traditional family christmas of 4 generations all in one (rented) house is getting more and more hectic, we'll have enough pre school kids for a creche this year!

Q that is very sweet of 'scone lady', no doubt a thread on it would raise strong views about strangers touching your baked goods but I'd have been very grateful too Smile

Just had an arguement with DH about the massive amount of his clutter in the house, feeling a bit shamefaced about casting a cloud over his day off but it is so much more annyoing when I am not spending 12h a day at work/commuting.
