I've stared to feel guilty, ds is now noticing all the faces on TV and chatting to them so for breakfast I pop him into his chair in front of Frasier and have my toast/cornflakes/cup of tea before they go cold/soggy. Hopefully he won't hate me for this when he's older haha.

Missikat · 01/06/2016 10:12

I can't keep up with you all! Place marking as it's been so long since I've posted this thread has disappeared from my 'threads I'm on'!

Will try and have a read through and catch up with all your news.

Here's my first (finally!) pic of my little man smiling. They were so fleeting for the last three weeks I'd not managed to capture one but finally got one. He's started properly cooing now which is lovely and will respond to me saying 'aaaah-goo' with a load of lovely noises of his own and lots of smiles. I'd thought we'd begun to crack daytime naps in his cot upstairs (as him sleeping only on me was getting pretty tiring, especially on the days I have his whirlwind older brother with me too) and we'd been able for three days to put him upstairs in his Woombie with the dummy and after 5 mins ish of fussing he'd go off....but then the last couple of days that's gone to shit again! (Wonder weeks app has alerted me of another leap and even tho Z was prem it seems to he very accurate with his due date). I'm hoping to get back to bring able to put him down again!

Ah, so cute Missi!

TriJo · 01/06/2016 11:33

C had a busy night after cluster-feeding again yesterday evening - four feeds overnight. I was secretly delighted when DH came home from work at 9:30am because he had car trouble, meant I could get a few bits done here while daddy cuddles happened.

He finally took a bottle of EBM! I pumped, gave the 125ml bottle to DH and went for a good long shower of the 3 minute miracle and leg-shaving kind, came back and the bottle was no more, he had chugged it. It looks like he's happy enough with our Avent Natural bottles when we use the 1m+ teats and they are full of body temperature boobie juice.

Woodenmouse · 01/06/2016 12:17

I haven't been in this thread for ages I need to catch up because they've all grown so much! Dex isn't even 3 month yet and has his eye on food! He also can't wait to get up and run around with his older brother!

vroc81 · 01/06/2016 12:50

Sorry to all those having bad nights I feel bad that R is sleeping well.. Well a little bit bad, I'm sure I will get my turn of sleepless nights again soon! She doesn't believe in daytime naps for longer than 10 minutes though so it's intense enough from dawn to dusk that I keep thinking I'd trade a night feed for a day nap! ConfusedBlush

Beautiful smile missi

We dared a trip in the car on the m25 by ourselves yesterday.. Only an hour away so we were fine going, fed got going got there fed again.. Coming back not so good took us three hours and had to stop for a feed, even though I'd done it just before we left not an hour before she was screaming.. And we couldn't make it to the services so we had to divert to a junction up the M3!

Q glad you said that about to as I may have been doing something similar to be able to pump.. She seems to quite like council house crackdown!!

Purpleprickles · 01/06/2016 19:58

Comiserations for the bad nights. I'm hoping E remembers her long sleep tonight and does it again!

Missi what a beautiful smile! Well worth the wait Smile

Got E weighed today and she is 10lb 12 which is fab, nearly double her birth weight. Over the last two days she has been trying to sit up when she is in her bouncy chair. I can only describe it as a kind of stomach crunch! Surely she shouldn't be doing that now, no more leaving her in it without the straps done up.

Me624 · 01/06/2016 20:57

Purple I've been thinking the same about DS - we're terribly slack and never do the straps up on his bouncy chair but he's starting to arch his back when he's in it. I think I'll have to start doing them up in case he does it and falls out when I'm not looking. He had a proper splash around in the bath today too, his little legs were kicking everywhere. Sometimes when I put him on his play mat he moves onto his side too, he's not rolling but I don't think it will be long until he is!

Paperblank · 01/06/2016 21:29

Hi all, just popping on to say hi really. I've been lurking and reading rather than posting.

I'm full of cold (ugh) and feeling like a proper misery guts, it doesn't help that the weather is more like January than June Sad

Anyway...I don't know if I am allowed to do this but DH has found a really good website:

www.bumdeal.co.uk/

Basically it tells you where the best deals on nappies and wipes are eg Morrisons have 10 packs of Huggies wipes for £6.00. Hope it's okay to share this sort of stuff - I just thought it was too good not to tell you about. It's saved us a fair bit already.

I shall take my germs and retire to bed Grin

2.30 feed, not had one of those for a while! Me E shows no interest in rolling yet it's just the crazy sit ups. She really hates tummy time too so I don't know if she'll roll for a while. I think strapping in is a must now though, don't want her launching herself out.

Paper get better soon! Thanks for the link too, that's fab. I've never heard of it before so will be using it from now on.

QforCucumber · 02/06/2016 04:55

Eurgh every 2 hours tonight without fail, not even an initial long stretch fell asleep at 8 woke at 10, slept 10:30-12:30,12:45-2:45 and 3-now.

I think I may cry - anyone want to borrow a 10 week old for a day?

Swearwolf · 02/06/2016 05:54

Urgh, we're up feeding too, another bad night. Hopefully this is just the leap the wonder weeks app told me about and she'll start sleeping again afterwards. She was put back in a cast yesterday, just one this time, so I think she's uncomfortable too. Last night she was shrieking like she was hurt, calpol helped a bit but didn't get her to sleep. Urgh.

RhubarbAndMustard · 02/06/2016 05:58

Oh no Q and swear. You must be exhausted. And Swear poor thing in a cast again. Was just coming on here to say that J has slept through from 8:30 to 5:45. Feel bad now.

Second lot of jabs yesterday were all fine though (so far). I just gave him a dose of Calpol in the car as he was still crying then but otherwise all good.

Purple J is rolling but no sit ups. I'm guilty of not strapping in but definitely time to start. These babies are going to be escape artists very soon!!

Paper thanks for the website, that's ace. Hope you feel better soon.

Missi beautiful picture and beautiful smile.

magpiedreams · 02/06/2016 07:42

Get well soon paper

Swear sorry to hear about the cast and lack of sleep, hope it's the last one for her.
q sympathies. We are consistently still 2-2.5hourly day and night. I feel your pain. I've never had one of these babies that does a longish stretch so young. Jealous! And wondering if my milk is a bit pants??

Paperblank · 02/06/2016 08:55

Motherhood is so glamorous...so far this morning M has wee'd on my hand, snotted all up my cheek and has just vomited down my pyjama top.

Little beast. It's a good job I love her.

Here for a bit of advise ladies if you don't mind. DS is 13 weeks, he had his second lot of jabs yday he's full of cold, cough is so bad! And not sure what I can do to help? He's sleeping a lot he went from 10:30-06:30 then fed then went back to sleep 07:10 and he's still asleep now? He never sleeps this much? Should I be worried? In guessing it's a mixture of sleeping off the cold maybe and side effects from jabs. And advise greatly appreciated:)
Hope everyone is ok sorry for a me me me post!!

Paperblank · 02/06/2016 11:07

Hi First,

I'd say the same as you - combination of side effects of the jabs and fighting off a cold.

My DD is sleeping more now than ever...we've had to wake her up twice so we can go out. She's like me, she loves her sleep.

Is he feeding okay? Temp okay? If that's all good then I wouldn't worry. Hope he's on the mend soon.

OP posts:
FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/06/2016 13:20

Hi paper,

Yeah he's feeding ok and temp is ok so I'll just keep an eye and make sure he doesn't get any worse... Thank you:) he seems ok in himself, just got a horrific cough and all bunged up.
X

TheMshipIsBack · 02/06/2016 14:07

first extra sleeping is normal post jab for some babies, had it with both mine. Like paper said, as long as feeding, temp, and responsiveness when awake is ok, don't worry. Look on the bright side, sleep will help him fight off the cold faster! Do you have a nasal suction thing? It can make him more comfortable and make feeding easier if he's having trouble breathing through his nose.

In more amusing news, I did post this elsewhere, but figured you'd all appreciate it too. I accidentally made evil cheesecake for DS's 4th birthday!

magpiedreams · 02/06/2016 19:37

Hahaha mship I love it! Couldn't do that if you'd tried!

FirstTimeMummy25 · 02/06/2016 20:47

Mship, no I don't have one of those, didn't realise there was such a thing? I'll have to look them up and get one... He does struggle with breathing when feeding he's so bunged up and chesty...
Ps loving the cheesecake, looks very yummy!

Swearwolf · 03/06/2016 06:28

Two decent stretches last night, thank goodness, it wasn't a permanent change! How did the rest of the CSC do?

QforCucumber · 03/06/2016 07:09

Ah the csc - checking back in again today but for reasons other than feeds.
What would you ladies advise here - was woken 3 times in the night to ds coughing and sputtering, was sick and choking on it every time. Was terrifying Sad He had an infant gaviscon before bed but doesn't seem to have done anything. He's awake and smiling but still coughing a dry cough, like there's a tickle oe he has a sore throat. Would you recommend seeing Dr? (Only get emergency appointments at short notice and don't want to take an appointment away from someone else if not necessary)

vroc81 · 03/06/2016 07:33

I would say get it checked if it's something you find distressing in the night it's worth it for peace of mind even if he seems better this morning, especially as it's Friday and then stuck with OOH Dr if you need to see someone over weekend?

R is 11 weeks tmrw and seems to be sleeping a lot the last few days, is there a growth spurt about now? Never blooming satisfied I had accepted that sleeping well at night meant short day naps but yesterday she slept for about 4 hours in the middle of the day around some other naps.. it was a long enough nap that I shone my phone in her face and took her temperature neither of which woke her up she had a few days of eating more as I was struggling to keep up with the pumping but she's eaten a bit less the last day or so with the longer naps that's why I was thinking growth spurt and not worrying too much?

RhubarbAndMustard · 03/06/2016 07:38

Poor little man Q. Sounds like he's caught the cough/cold bug that's going around. I'm sure it's the constant change in weather that causes them. Is he eating ok? You could try putting him in the bathroom when you shower. The hot steamy air might help him. And raising one end of his cot at night and holding him more upright for longer after feeding might help.

I don't know if dr could give him anything more than Calpol but others on here might have better advice.

Great cheesecake Mship!
