This time last year....my nephew was days away from being born, I was planning a wedding and looking forward to that holiday.....little did I know that I would fly home with a little souvenir Grin

ugh, I'm not looking forward to the rotavirus nappies! DD2 had her jabs this afternoon and has just gone to sleep. She is normally in cloth nappies and wipes but for the next week or so will be in disposables as I can't be dealing with all the washing and I think disposables will probably be more hygienic with rota-poos.

pretty standard night here last night - three feeds at 12.30, 3.30 and 5.30. Was hoping our one feed the night before last was a sign of things to come but apparently not...

Paperblank · 19/05/2016 16:06

Well little miss sleepy head has just woken up!

She's happily kicking away in her chair which means I can fold the washing, do the dinner and quickly flick round and tidy up.

Farts are still toxic but M is a happy wee girl today...it's lovely Smile

Hello you lovely lot.

I went to BYOBaby cinema yesterday. My first outing solo that wasn't just coffee/shops/docs. Time have a Google and see if there is one near you? I got to say a quick "hello" to two parents before the film started. No one cared about the babies having a cry. The low lighting meant G just ate and slept through the film and was so placid for the rest of the day! 😮👍 might work for Calais if she gets out in the pram and is already dozing when you get there. I think a change of scene is what they want sometimes.

During the film, Mustang - a Turkish film about five sisters being married off, it got to a really sudden sad and dramatic part. G, in his milk drunk daze, started laughing in his sleep 😳 Imagine a baby Jimmy Carr laugh. It made the lady behind giggle loads.

maybe fantastic nights sleep! Shame about the screaming paddy, G does it in the evening between 7-9 without fail. We just have to ride it out until he's able to realise he does want the boob.

Mship is the post natal check up the 6-8 week check? We had ours today and the doctor only quickly checked Gs hips/eyes and balls and got us out the door! I had a bit of a list of stuff but didn't get any kind of opening. Tbh I didn't feel comfy talking about my foof and anxiety so I'll book again just for me.
I hope T gets back up the centiles quickly!

DomesticAnarchist · 19/05/2016 18:04

Thanks dobby, I did see that! Grin

We haven't had vaccinations yet but we're in gross nappy club! Had a full on nappy explosion this morning, followed by fountain wee and simultaneous puking. And the poo-splosion & fountain wee went all over the last clean nappy I had downstairs so I had to dash up while he was naked on the mat (it was on the floor). All fun & games!

We have the 6 week check on Saturday, they booked a triple appointment - one for DS2 and the other two for me. Last time a very young and embarrassed locum basically asked if I had PND and that was it. Useless. Different surgery now though.

maybebabybee · 19/05/2016 18:15

paper it's lovely when they're content isn't it! Had a very content day here too but we're fast approaching the hour when all hell breaks loose so I'm not holding my breath for continued peace!

People asking me if he's a "good" baby. What on earth is a good baby anyway? Good at what?!

magpiedreams · 19/05/2016 23:57

Haha yes maybe, I find the 'is he good?' question very odd. I sometimes answer 'well, he's 7 weeks old so doesn't really have a moral compass yet' when I'm feeling tired and irritable But I know it's generally just people being nice and cooing so I try To be more pleasant in my response!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/05/2016 05:31

ohwool I'm in Scotland and about 8-12 weeks post natal there's an appointment just for mum. The only physical check I had was to be sure my uterus was fully deflated, because I declined the breast and vulva checks, both areas being back to normal for me and the GP said that was my choice. Also a contraception discussion, gentle PND probing (I have a lovely GP, v sensitive), and a generic any other issues question.

marmite we kept up with cloth nappies and wipes through rota-week and it was fine, just a little more laundry and careful hand washing.

T did her first long sleep! I'm nursing her just now after an 8 hour stretch. I woke up at 1 am expecting to feed, and she didn't even snuffle. Woohoo!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/05/2016 11:05

Mobile hairdresser was awesome!

Wow Mship that looks fab! Congrats on your long sleep too.

Ohwoolballs · 20/05/2016 13:10

I am sat in the hairdressers with an attractive plastic cap on my head and a lovely cup of tea right this moment ☺️ Next up - getting my nails done 😁

mship the Bob looks very sleek! Good choice. I'm just too much of a wuss to get loads cut off!
I'm going to just book a check up appt with the docs, pretty much everything on your list I need to ask about. 😕

G did a four hour stretch last night, doesn't sound like loads but it was at the perfect time. We managed to eat tea, watch Game of Thrones and get in bed and have some sexytimes while G was conked in his basket.

dom I've done the nappy dash before too, how does a whole pack seeming go from full to empty with no inbetween?!

Purpleprickles · 20/05/2016 13:11

Oh I keep meaning to try the cinema, not sure if E will hate it or not.

Mship lovely hair! I'm at the hairdressers now and so far E is still asleep. I have the colour on so about half way through. Am so excited to have a cut and just feel a bit more human.

E slept 11pm-6am last night. Quite amazing but she has done this once before and then forgotten she can again so I'm not getting excited.

Had baby sensory today, the woman leading it was telling me and another mum about the job, hours etc. I have to say it sounds appealing as a career alternative to teaching!

Purpleprickles · 20/05/2016 20:59

I have new, fresh, coloured, cut hair. Lalalala (flicks hair like on an advert) oh to feel human again.

Me624 · 20/05/2016 21:08

I'm having my hair done next week - can't wait!

We have been to baby cinema once too - it was fun and I'll go again when there's a film on I fancy seeing. DS slept the entire time when we went.v

Unlike today when he had about 3 20 minute catnaps all day ... not good. I hope we are not in for a bad night as a result.

DH are going to attempt to dtd later ... Wish me luck!!

QforCucumber · 21/05/2016 00:54

I'm so jealous of all your hair - today I went to the dentist and had my 7 fillings (and a panic attack too, fun times)
Up for a feed after ds has had a nice 5 hour sleep, ive had 4 hours already so feeling quite alright - it's Warm tonight though, sweats are sooo sexy!

me hope your fun times went well Wink and that ds slept for you too.

DomesticAnarchist · 21/05/2016 04:19

Oh no, Q. At least all that dentistry is done now.

Another crap night here and he's about to start really grumping. We're on our second wake up since midnight. And yep, the joy of sweats. I really need to get some more sleep. It's been a long time since I had a 4+ hour stretch, and a long time of a broken total of 4/5 hours. This is not enough for a human! DH will be kicked out in the morning. You know, the real morning when it's light and socially acceptable.

I had to get the 3-6 month sleepsuits out yesterday, his feet were straining at the bottom of the 0-3s. I'm sure he's grown again since Monday. He's only 7 weeks but is enormous!

TheMshipIsBack · 21/05/2016 06:28

Aww Domestic hope you're back to sleep now. We're all up watching Pixar - DS woke up when I went to change T at 5:30 and that was the family up for the morning. We had to change to 3-6 month clothes at 8 weeks and I'm expecting to pull out the 6-9's in another month (she's 11 weeks Monday). Big babies, eh? I'm very grateful for all the clothes we got given, never expected to use them so soon!

DomesticAnarchist · 21/05/2016 07:15

Up again. DH is still snoring though bastard.

We're working through the bags of DS1's old stuff. There's so much that DS2 hasn't worn at all!

DS1's been running around downstairs making videos on his leap pad (I think he's an aspiring YouTuber). I suppose I better go and supervise or something now.

Me624 · 21/05/2016 07:48

Pleased to report that dtd was absolutely fine! I was sure it was going to hurt but it didn't at all. DH said it didn't feel any different but weirdly it did a bit for me - everything was a bit less sensitive down there but not really in a bad way.

Wow Dom and MShip you must have big babies! DS is 11 weeks and some of his 0-3 stuff is still big on him, he'll be in it for a while yet I think. DS is on the 25th percentile so on the smaller side himself but I seem to know loads of absolutely tiny babies so he is the chunk next to them.

Q sorry to hear you had a panic attack Sad at least it's over and done with now.

maybebabybee · 21/05/2016 08:12

Also expecting to pull out the 3-6 month stuff soon. DA is 9 weeks and nearly 13 lbs.

Good night here! Slept 8.40-3.30, fed, down until 6am, fed, down again til 8am. Worryingly I've realised these nights always follow an evening where we've had hysterical crying Hmm

RhubarbAndMustard · 21/05/2016 08:52

We've had some more rolling over from front to back this morning at 11 weeks. J seems bewildered by his sudden change in view.

We are in the chunky baby group with Dom and Mship. The 3-6 onesies are starting to get snug! Someone even said to me yesterday 'he's very chunky for 11 weeks.' Made me feel a bit Confused but have to remember DS1 was the same.

I have my first night away from J tonight. Am going to a friends 40th so DP is on his own with the boys. I will miss them but have to say I'm looking forward to an unbroken night and lots of booze.

Purpleprickles · 21/05/2016 09:07

Ok odd stuff here, E is sleeping loads. She did 11-5am and then about 5.30 after a feed and is still asleep now. She did this yesterday as well. I don't know why I have to worry over it and not just relish it but it isn't usual for her Confused Is it hangover from the jabs, a new growth spurt, or has she finally discovered my love of sleep?

Rhu have an amazing night. WineWine and Q sorry to hear about the awful time at the dentists.

E is now in 0-3months clothes instead of newborn Blush She is 10lb 1 now and following her line but still diddy.

Purpleprickles · 21/05/2016 09:08

Oh Rhu I forgot to post, wow to rolling. I didn't realise it happened that quick should have a better memory from ds

RhubarbAndMustard · 21/05/2016 09:26

Purple relish that sleep! E may have just found her routine. Fingers x'd!

I think J just gets so angry at being on tummy time that he forces himself over. He has quite a temper! DS1 was 11 weeks too but took till 18 months to walk. All babies do stuff to their own timescale!

Me well done on successful jiggy time Grin

QforCucumber · 21/05/2016 09:28

Wow to rolling over rhu ds is 9 weeks today and hates being put on his front so am ashamed to say we don't really do much tummy time - must really remember to do more!

Wow purple that's an amazing amount of sleep! R keeps refusing to nap longer than 20 mins and will only fall asleep if rocked on my shoulder oops.

He is halfway between 0-3 and 3-6 at the min which is great as I have a lot of choice of what to put him in, size 3 nappies now too which seem huge on him but the 2s were cutting into his chunky thighs!

dom are you still not wanting to express? Would it not be possible to go back to bed when dh is up and just plonk ds2 in the bed next to you with no top on so you can sleep and just attach him when necessary - obviously this is assuming ds2 will be quiet enough for you to doze!

Swearwolf · 21/05/2016 09:31

S is the same purple, and here was me feeling like she was a right chunk for being in 0-3 already at 9 weeks! Ds wasn't in them until about 4 months old...

We're currently alternating between an awake day and good night with six hour stretch and a sleepy day with more night time wake ups. Either way she's been waking for a feed at about 5, which doesn't give me enough time to go back to sleep in the week and today she hasn't gone back to sleep so I'm up. Boo!

Still having the Rota virus poops, how long is it supposed to last??? I'm using water wipes again but even so she's all red and sore, the poor sausage.

Very jealous of all these haircuts! Might see if MIL can take the baby for a walk while I go, if I can get an appointment.
