hales Grin pooh sticks is when you stand on one side of a bridge over water, and each drop a stick in, then rush to the other side of the bridge to see who's stick comes out first. It's a great game!
Poor H being lost without DN. She's such a character though, maybe it will actually help her to shine?

Shoe shopping was actually quite painless, and furniture building was fine too. Dds all made their own dinner too (with me) it was a helping kind of day. Dd1&2 are quite into cooking now. T just wanted to squidge pastry.

Think I might have to start a thread about fitted wardrobes!! We just had a man from hammonds over to quote - it was crazy money (c 4K!!!) But I fear that's just how much it is - everyone I know has said its not cheap. We are very short on storage so need to max it out, but it will mean saving up.

PurplePidjin · 05/09/2016 23:48

I think I might have the best mispronunciation/grammar mess up...

R has been pointing at people saying "I pissed you". I've been dying inside thinking he'd picked up naughty words. Nope, he's moved on from shooting you with his shooter and now pisseds you with his pistol. Dh and I are still sniggering and wondering what to tell school :o

MrsNutella · 06/09/2016 07:20

Pidj I love that. I'd be giggling to.

On top of grammar mistakes we have translation issues too. Although sometimes just the words themselves are funny.... The German word for a digger is Der Bagger but it is pronounced "Bugger" makes me giggle all the time Grin

WL you want to konmari The living daylights out of your house and then you won't need any storageWink we sold a chest of drawers this weekend because we managed to empty them

hales hope H had a lovely day in the end.

I seem to now be fever free! I just have tonsils like golf balls so everything hurts but I am definitely getting better. Although I would quite like to not have been poorly in the first place!

halestone · 06/09/2016 21:43

Pidj Grin i love listening to children saying things unintentionally wrong.

WL i now you've explained it, i think i've seen it on telly but didn't know its name. 4k seems alot maybe some independent bedroom fitters maybe cheaper? My best friends dad is a plasterer and he gets alot of work down south as even with prospective employers paying for his digs it still works out cheaper than the quotes from firms down south.

Nutella hope your balls go down soonWink

H seemed ok today going in and just went off and played with one of the other girls. Thr new starters, start next week so she maybe happier then.

MrsNutella · 06/09/2016 21:58

hales you managed to make that sound so incredibly wrong it made me chuckle Grin

WLmum · 07/09/2016 00:07

pidj that's cute! Def one for a video record for the future.
hales I bet your guy gets work down here in part because of the extortionate prices and part because of a lack of good people - our builder gave us the details for 2 chippies, but neither are particularly interested in the work.

WLmum · 07/09/2016 00:08

nutella what's this konmarie? I am desperately trying to rid our house of stuff but it's very much one item at a time when no ones looking atm

MrsNutella · 07/09/2016 09:45

WL I know what you mean about finding someone that wants the work!
Marie Kondo is the Author of "The Magic of Tidying Up" and called her method konmari.

It is pretty simple really. Identify what things bring you joy. Chuck the stuff that doesn't. End up with loads more room in your house. We have got rid of loads and sold about 900€ worth of stuff and I'd say we are over halfway through the house.

It is worth having read of the book to understand the whole idea and how to put it into practice - it isn't easy but it is kind of enjoyable. If you google her you'll get a billion results about tidying up.

MrsNutella · 07/09/2016 09:49

I asked DS what toys he didn't want anymore, if had something that could go to a new baby and he emptied out half of his cuddly toy bin thing I was sort of happy and sort of sad Confused

And can people please remind me not to enter into a conversation with my conspiracy consumed brother about ADHD. he doesn't believe it exists despite being an obvious candidate for it along with other personality disorders and he just winds me up. He is a total loon!! I miss when he was a lot more normal now every conversation is about the illuminati, sandy hook being staged, vaccines being poison,... Vapour trails in the sky, oh god the list is endless!!

WreckTangled · 07/09/2016 09:52

Oh no Nutella! That's my worst nightmare bloody anti vaxers.

MrsNutella · 07/09/2016 10:50

So next time I want to rant at him I will do it here instead... Or just start a thread that can then disappear in chat or something Grin

WLmum · 07/09/2016 21:48

nutella dbil is a conspiracy theorist. I find it hard to listen too - of course I understand that governments don't always tell the truth and that there is scary manipulation out there but just because you don't like something doesn't mean it was a set up by the US government!
I gave away a toy shopping trolley to the tesco delivery man today! Weird coincidence - his name was the same as DH, and he has a daughter same name as dd2! Dd2 was moving the shopping in with the trolley which I've been waiting for a chance to take to the charity shop as they don't play with it and it's just going to get broken as it gets shoved out the way, and tesco man asked where it came from as his dd would love it. Done!

WreckTangled · 08/09/2016 06:47

WL that's lovely!!

MrsNutella · 08/09/2016 11:03

WL haha nice work that you gave a tesco man a trolley Grin that has a beautiful irony about it!

it grates when so many of the facts are just repeated lies from one site to a blog to another blog to another site and easy to trace back and show they are almost always made up /fantasy / badly misquoted ugh. Anyway. I pissed him off Confused so I guess we are about square now... Maybe...

WLmum · 08/09/2016 17:04

Haha nutella I didn't even think of that! Love it.

WreckTangled · 09/09/2016 19:33

Ds just asked why his willy skin doesn't go up and down like daddy's BlushGrin

WLmum · 10/09/2016 21:08

DH and I had a great night away last night - Gotta love a child free wedding!! So nice to have a chance to relax for a few hours. Dds were pretty hard work this afternoon/eve. Part having missed us I guess, part tired and part my lowered tolerance!

WLmum · 10/09/2016 22:33

Argh! There's a massive spider on the bathroom wall. I can't brush my teeth!!

MrsNutella · 11/09/2016 21:23

WL I hope you made it to bed ok without being assaulted by a spider or resorting to spider murder Grin

DS was bloody awful today! He was tired I really really hope he is not getting my virus from last week and just incredibly annoying. Lots of flapping and getting worked up, shrieking when we try to talk to him and calm him down. General leaping around and on DD. Then he kept throwing stuff. Just really painful, especially this afternoon as he got more tired.
But tomorrow is Monday, hurrah for childcare!! Blush

WLmum · 11/09/2016 22:07

nutella DH saved me last night but then told me today that he saw an even bigger one, and let it escape into the radiator!

Hope ds has a good sleep and is a sunny son in the morning.

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2016 08:19

R went to his first gymnastics class yesterday. Him and 9 girls. He loved it! Hoping he can decide if he likes it on it's own merit before he realises he's the only boy though Sad he did enjoy watching the Olympics, with lots of male gymnasts, so hopefully that'll be enough.

I bloody hate them having their choices limited because of some shitty notion that boys and girls can't just do stuff Angry

WLmum · 12/09/2016 20:55

Maybe he'll enjoy being the only boy? I agree with hating the 'for girls/boys' thing - dd1&2 never really mentioned it but T does - she says things like the blue one is for boys.

PurplePidjin · 13/09/2016 09:47

If I've done my job right and convinced him that it's only up to him what he likes and doesn't like then he won't be bothered in the slightest! I've had 6 weeks to reset him, hope it sticks lol

MrsNutella · 14/09/2016 11:19

Pidj I want to take DS to gymnastics. I think I need to get him into some sports soon. Maybe it will help him stop climbing the furniture Hmm
And yes, really really hate all the girls vs boys stuff. It's stupid and so annoying. I really do think that the pressure between sexes is more intense now than it has ever been.

But my children are disappointingly playing to their stereotypes: DS loves all cars, bee baws, trains etc DD loves her baby and cuddly toys and even searched out some pink duplo bricks to put in her handbag. So it is also fascinating watching them develop their "roles".

And we are trying to sell the buggies. I have a Maclaren and a big buggy that works as a double buggy. We haven't used either in months. I'm actually really sad to be parting with the Maclaren Confused

WLmum · 14/09/2016 22:22

I've just checked into my flights for my girls 40th trip next Friday. I've been so looking forward to it and the break but now I'm having a wobble about being away from my babies. To top it off, dd1 goes away on a school trip on the Monday before I get back, until Friday - means I won't see her Friday til Friday Sad
