Thank you Ffaux. We made it official today and announced it to family. Feels better to be able to give a name to him, and stop the relentless messages/phone calls etc every day insisting we must decide. I'm still not sure I absolutely love it, but me and DP agree we like it, and it suits DS. Dps Mum replied that she hated it and it's awful...yeah cheers for that (very out of character...but tough!!)

I found seeing DS made it harder to decide if anything, but mainly as we didn't have any particularly strong contenders to begin with. Although he definitely didn't 'look' like certain names, he is too much of a chunky brute to carry off cutesy names if that makes sense!?

Anyway it's done now....next I have to explain to his big Sister why we didn't go with her suggestion....Chowder?! Confused

Woodenmouse · 10/03/2016 17:46

ffaux that's good news that the drs aren't worried.

The hospital has agreed to induced me on Sunday rather than Tuesday so I'm happy

MyNameIsSuz · 10/03/2016 17:53

Great news wooden!

Paperblank · 10/03/2016 18:50

Q & Suz

I love the bump pics!! Give it a stroke from me. I miss my bump - I know I have the end result but still...

Enjoy the last few days with your baby all tucked up, before you know it you will have a squishy newborn x

marmiteandcheeseplease · 10/03/2016 18:54

Glad you've gotten a date you're happy with wooden

Wow Poppins your DPs mum's comment def sounds harsh! She couldn't sugar coat it a bit?! Confused nevermind, as long as you're happy. It's funny what you say about it being hard to decide afterwards as then names don't suit baby - with DD and this baby we had names picked out before birth. with DD our chosen name suited her so hoping the same happens this time! On the other hand DPs brother and SIL chose a name for baby beforehand and when baby came out I really don't think the name suits her (even at 5 months old - sounds weird but name is quite delicate sounding and just doesn't suit baby's natural shape and general look), and I think DPs brother wasn't keen on the name (he told us it was 'growing on' him when she was three weeks old) but SIL had her heart set on it. I don't know what I'd do if our chosen name doesn't suit baby! DD refers to bump by chosen name so don't think she'd accept a change!

hayleycookie · 10/03/2016 19:40

Obligatory due date bump pic! Seeing it in the pic it still looks really high so probably really am in for the long haul!

Poppins that's a harsh comment to make to new parents! We still haven't completely decided on a name. We have a top 3 and a favorite but we will be screwed if he doesn't look like any of them. We struggled enough deciding on a top 3!

Oooh not long now Wooden! How exciting!

Well done on the weight Suz! I haven't quite plucked up the courage yet, and probably won't until a few months after giving birth. I feel HUGE though!

Having waves of period like pain in back and front roughly every seven minutes. Mild though so not sure they mean anything.

MyNameIsSuz · 10/03/2016 22:00

Ooh sounds promising maybe!

Woodenmouse · 10/03/2016 22:35

Fingers crossed for you maybe

marmiteandcheeseplease · 10/03/2016 22:57

Definitely sounds promising maybe! Good luck Grin

Nothing doing here other than its 11pm and I'm in bed absolutely starving and can't get to sleep! Ugh

Timetogrowup2016 · 10/03/2016 23:01

Good luck maybe . You never know !
Just up feeding. Yawn tired tonight. Thank goodness it's the weekend tomorrow means oh can help in the day and we can both catch up on sleep

MrsBenWyatt · 10/03/2016 23:10

Sounds very promising, Maybe!! Good luck xxx

TheMshipIsBack · 10/03/2016 23:33

Good luck maybe!

I'm up in the feeding club tonight. Tamsin lost just shy of 10% of her birth weight (been struggling to get her to wake enough to feed frequently) so we're on a punishing every 2 hours nursing regimen for two days. Almost a full pound is a lot, but she had enough to spare and still looks chubby. My milk's come in properly today and she's very keen, I'm sure she'll have gained enough by Saturday morning that we can ease up a bit. She's hilarious - when she finishes one side, she burps while still attached, then slides off the nipple and sighs deeply.

RhubarbAndMustard · 11/03/2016 03:08

Morning everyone! I've just switched shifts with DP but Jacob asleep for now.

Mship* sounds like Tamsin will be up to weight soon. So cute!

Passing round some humbugs as we wait for news on maybe.

Missikat · 11/03/2016 04:43

Ooh good luck Maybe! Definitely sounds promising!

I've been struggling to keep up with the thread these last few days. Mship hope your two hourly schedule does the trick quickly and Tamsin puts that weight back on.

Time, lovely to hear your updates. Calais sounds amazing and you definitely deserve an easier ride after your awful pregnancy.

Loving the bump pics Q, Suz and Hayley you all look gorgeous! The rest of you still waiting, get your bump pics on here!

Ffaux, glad to hear things are looking a bit more positive at your end. Glad to hear your OB is of the more non interventionalist sort, I'm sure you can trust their judgement and will be fine.

Poppins, can't believe your MIL, that is shocking!

Marnite, Q, Suz, Hayley, Wooden and all other ladies who are now over..hope things get moving for you soon!

Zach has just slept for about 4.5 hours, his longest stretch yet! I feel like a new woman! I think it's down to the Woombie which he's been in for last two nights. He looks like a little white sausage in it, so cute!

maybebabybee · 11/03/2016 05:49

Well now I have pretty much constant back ache which keeps intensifying in waves (kind of feels like bad constipation). Is this it?!

RhubarbAndMustard · 11/03/2016 06:03

That's how mine started maybe. Definitely sounds like your on your way. Did you get any sleep? If so, I would get moving now. Good luck!

Also loving the bump pics. You all look amazing ladies and all bump.

Well done Zach! Missi you must be exhausted. It's amazing how good 4.5 hours sleep feels when you've not had any!

maybebabybee · 11/03/2016 06:07

I love how everyone says "oh when you're in labour you will know". I definitely don't Confused

BumpPower · 11/03/2016 06:20

maybe can I join your "ooooo this could be it" club. Waves of pain waking me up all night nothing as intense as labour pain but hopefully the start. Feel sick and have a rock hard bump....The in laws arrive at 1100 today which would sort childcare nicely.
Might go and walk up and down the stairs.....

maybebabybee · 11/03/2016 06:25

Fx for you too bump!!!

I'll be annoyed if this tapers off into nothing.

DP happily snoring away here. He got about four hours sleep last night and can't function. Christ knows how he'll cope with a newborn.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 11/03/2016 06:44

maybe definitely sounds like the beginning of labour to me!

Terrible nights sleep here, I am officially just too big. Can't get comfy so constantly having to try to move. Baby moving around loads this morning - feels like she doesn't have much room but she wants to wiggle as much as she used to! Still absolutely no sign labour will start. Looking after DD today which is going to be knackering - going to messy play this morning with my NCT friend, but crap knows what I'm going to do with her this afternoon. Might go for a good long walk to get things moving - though I went for a 2.5 mile walk yesterday and it did nothing! Also got yoga tonight which is on the other side of town and a bus and walk away so hopefully being active will help. I'm still not desperate for baby to be out but concerned about reaching 41 weeks and being under pressure to be induced Sad appointment with midwife is Monday and she's going to want to book me in Confused

sherazade · 11/03/2016 06:59

Good luck ladies in pain !
Am feeling pretty down lately. Had my sweep which resulted in six hours of regular contractions that tapered off and then completely vanished. marmite I've been bullied into an induction date next Friday, they were reluctant to let me go to the Monday and I'm gutted as can't bear the thought of being hooked to a drip. After weeks of painful on off contractions I'll be devastated if it leads to me being on a drip. I know my body and know I just gestate for longer . Dd2 went over three weeks and they induced me with prostin which I don't think is as bad as a drip because once I had the prostin I went into labour myself but the thought of artificially induced contractions via drip and someone else controlling their level is making my skin crawl. New guidelines are now totally against prostin for vbacs now apparently. I tried to bargain over the ten days but they started going on about fetal movements and still births making me feel scared and guilty . I feel so defeated. I think I'm going to ring up and cancel the induction and insist on fetal monitoring but it's hard when you're up against 'professionals'.

MyNameIsSuz · 11/03/2016 07:09

Good luck maybe and bump!

Sorry you're both worrying about induction marmite and sher. It's so hard when there's just no way to force yourself into labour. I'm so far just frustrated by it rather than getting worried, but I don't think it'll be long before my attitude turns.

Missikat · 11/03/2016 07:55

Sher, are you planning a VBAC? If so it amazes me they will give you the drip as when I spoke to my consultant about having a VBAC they said if I went over the most they would do in terms of induction would be attempt to break your waters as any kind of unnaturally induced contractions (so via drip or pessery) are more likely to cause uterine rupture so they wouldn't do. They would have let me go 12 days over and if nothing then repeat c section.

I would try and muster the courage to refuse and insist on daily monitoring instead. I say that but I'm sure if I was in your positioning would find it hard too. Good luck. Fx this baby decides they want to arrive within a standard gestation period in their own!

Maybe and Bump, sounds like early labour to me. Hope you manage to rest a bit.
