Congratulations wooden! What a beautiful baby boy - definitely worth the wait (though I'm sure you would have preferred a less dramatic entrance into the world!).

Sorry to hear you're still waiting to meet your baby maybe. I hope things get moving a bit faster for you now, it must be so exhausting Flowers.

Your poor ds Rhubarb. Utis are the worst and typical for it to strike at the weekend. Hope they're not waiting around too long and he feels better soon.

Yes definitely spell it out to him Poppins. I hope he's grovelling when he realises how selfish he's been. Are you getting enough rest?

Indom I've been getting pain like that since BabyTrin engaged. At first I was embarrassed in case passers by thought I was in labour, then I realised no one seemed at all bothered and so I just felt a bit cross. I could've been giving birth in the street for all they know - selfish bastards Grin. Hope you have better luck than me and Octobaby shifts back into a less painful position.

Tell the mw Beautiful!(if you haven't already). Better to get it sorted asap than to suffer for 6 months again. And yy they're used to dealing with fanjo-related issues.

Sorry for those of you going overdue. Try to keep busy if possible to help take your mind off it and I'm looking forward to seeing plenty of newborn pictures on here over the next few days Smile.

I've not been avoiding this thread all week because I've been feeling so miserable and didn't want to put a dampner on things. I'm in so much pain now I'm not getting out much so I think, like others of you, I've just been going a bit stir crazy. Anyway, I'm back to my usual self today and enjoying the lovely sunshine Smile.

I had 3 days of strong menstrual-type cramps at the beginning of the week but they've died off now. I googled the antenatal thread I was on in my last pregnancy to compare symptoms (I'm becoming obsessed!) and I had 10 days of cramping before going into labour, so looks like I've still got a while to go yet. The horror of childbirth is all coming back to me now Shock.

docmcstuffins1 · 13/03/2016 14:37

Congratulations wooden! What a beaut he is! That must mean I'm officially the most overdue now not a title I want I must admit.
Hope there are some more babies along soon (and that mine is one of them!)

MrsElls · 13/03/2016 14:50

Congrats wooden, he's lovely and really looks like a Dexter!

Hopefully some more babies will arrive soon for those of you at term/overdue. Today is Cassidy's due date, I can't imagine how miserable I would be if I was still pregnant, I was fed up when I delivered at 37 + 6!

QforCucumber · 13/03/2016 15:43

wooden he's beautiful, hope you're ok after the birth! I love the name dexter but dp has always wanted a german shepherd dog called dexter and it's something he won't change his mind on so was a no go for us.

indom hope your baby has stayed firmly in place to allow you to enjoy your weekend!

Spent today sat in the garden enjoying the spring warmth, been lovely! Ordered pizza hut delivery for tea and having ouselves our laSt lazy Sunday as if this baby doesn't make an appearance then I'm being induced on Thursday so either way should have a small human by next weekend Confused

Does anyone else keep forgetting they have to actually do the birthing thing? I think about having a baby here, I think about going to the hospital -but in my mind there is this big blank space which is the process which occurs between the 2 haha.

vroc81 · 13/03/2016 15:47

Congratulations wooden he's a handsome boy!!

My DH arrived in front of the stable this morning to tell me my mucking out was slower than normal... Good job looks can't kill... Have followed the midwifes go out and walk advice this weekend clocking up 10km on each but nothing doing.. maybe hope your having newborn snuggles now.

I'm off to look at the spreadsheet and see whose next to overtake me! Wink

MrsElls · 13/03/2016 15:53

Haha Q, I was just focussed on not being pregnant anymore, forgot about the birth and the baby bit!

docmcstuffins1 · 13/03/2016 15:58

Very true Q, I'm desperate to have my baby here, but when I think about it not that keen on the giving birth bit! Confused

marmiteandcheeseplease · 13/03/2016 16:40

Haha Q I'm totally with you - desperate for baby but really don't want to go through childbirth again Confused just sort of ignoring it for now Blush

maybebabybee · 13/03/2016 16:56

Just checking in.

Wooden congrats!! Gorgeous

Sadly no baby. Mad painful contractions but irregular. Still only 1cm (at check this am anyway). Getting very tired and very despondent. Been 3 days of this.

TriJo · 13/03/2016 18:37

39 weeks today - walked miles with the hubby, still nowhere near the slightest hint of anything happening any time soon. Apparently I have way too much energy for being due next week according to the 70-something lady my husband was chatting to in a cafe earlier...

BumpPower · 13/03/2016 19:08

Congratulations wooden and what a weight! Well done you!!!
I went on a 3 mile walk including lots and lots of steps. Doesn't seem to have done a thing- the MiL was with me asking "anything?" every half a mile or so and glancing down as if checking my waters hadn't broken and I'd not noticed Confused she means well and has be brilliant helping with DS so am refusing to get cross - esp as my mother takes over watching pot duties tomorrow and I know she will make me long to have the MiL and her questions again!
Good luck to all your hangers on - we will get there!!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 13/03/2016 19:14

Constant braxton hicks this evening and my bump is quite achey. My tummy also feels a bit iffy but I'm not sure if it's baby related or the fact we went to DPs parents for sunday lunch and I had loads of lunch followed by a massive portion of sticky toffee pudding Confused tbh it doesn't really feel like prelabour more like gluttony but I'm grasping at straws!!

Sorry to hear contractions are still irregular maybe. Try to get as much rest as you can, take a hot bath and try not to exert yourself too much Flowers

IndomitabIe · 13/03/2016 20:19

Sorry to hear nothing's moving for maybe, I second the recommendation for a bath.

We've made it home from the conference. As far as I'm concerned, this baby can put in an appearance any time now! Though work would very much like me to keep going!

Very impressed at all the walking.

MyNameIsSuz · 13/03/2016 20:24

Oh that could be something marmite, hopefully it's not just lunch-bloat.

I've just had chilli for dinner, not sure it's made any difference other than to my heartburn. I can't have it tomorrow anyway, the cat's having surgery and I have to take her in and pick her up again so will need to be around all day. Might do something energetic in between with my boy, chase him round the park or something.

Sorry there's still no progress maybe, that really sucks. It might not seem like it, but it will end!

Pannacott · 13/03/2016 20:38

Congratulation Wooden, Dexter is gorgeous Smile

I had 12 hours of contractions last night, then they stopped at 10am this morning. I'm 37+5 with scheduled c section in 10 days, so we were up all night packing bags and waking people up to look after DD1, and then they slowed right down from every 6-8 minutes to every half an hour by 2.30am. Kept going enough to knacker my sleep though. Bit annoying.

Maybe I hope you get a decent break, or they ramp up - 3 days of indecisive early labour must be exhausting.

Beaut tell the midwife! No point suffering in silence, and she'll have seen and heard far far worse beforeWink

Good luck to everyone overdue and wishing the days away.

MrsBenWyatt · 13/03/2016 20:45

Congratulations, Wooden. He is gorgeous! My beautiful godson is called Dexter - it's a fab name!

Hoping we see even more babies soon! I was a week overdue with DS1, so anyone who is overdue has my upmost sympathy!

Me624 · 13/03/2016 21:50

Congrats wooden! What a whopper!

Fingers crossed things ramp up for you soon maybe.

Day 10 here and DS is doing well. I am still a bit of an emotional wreck. I decided last night to give up with breastfeeding. I'm disappointed in myself for not persevering for longer, most of my friends have stuck it out at least a few weeks. But DS was finding it so difficult to feed, struggling to breathe at the breast (he is very congested still after inhaling a lot of mucus at birth). The more I learned about breastfeeding the more I realised that he wasn't feeding well, latching on but constantly coming off and never sleeping for more than an hour at night, meaning I was getting no sleep at all. Dh would end up giving him a bottle of formula in the early hours when I reached breaking point.

Today we have bottle fed all day, a mix of formula and expressed breast milk. I have finally been able to enjoy him, despite the guilty feelings, and feel more like myself again.

Poppins27 · 13/03/2016 21:55

Vroc take a bow, 10k walks and mucking out a stable...I'm shattered just thinking about it!! (And I've had the baby now!!). I do think crawling about a playzone for my Dds birthday the day before I gave birth helped get things moving!! I have a 4 year old anyone can borrow if you would like to test this theory!! Grin

Sorry your still in limbo Maybe, you must be exhausted!!

I hope all the gripey tummies and aches turn into some beautiful babies real soon!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 13/03/2016 21:55

Blargh well I'm just getting into bed now and all crampyness and braxton hicks have stopped so not expecting much to happen tonight. Also have my sweep tomorrow which I am feeling a little nervous about. Glad my DP is going to be there with me. I'm dreading the conversation about induction as well. Feeling like this baby is never going to come. I definitely feel like my body is prepping for labour but not doing it quickly enough! Ugh! The walk to drs is a mile and half so hoping walking there and back for my midwife appointment tomorrow will get things moving.

Hope all the newborns are doing ok Grin Haven't heard from me in a while - hope the anxiety has calmed down.

That sounds rubbish pannacot, hope things kick off properly for you soon!

Glad you got back home ok indom!

Fx things have progressed for maybe.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 13/03/2016 21:57

X post with me, sorry its been so tough and hope you are feeling better emotionally now Cake

IndomitabIe · 13/03/2016 22:16

Well done, Me. It's a difficult decision to make, but if you're both happier then it's the right decision. Glad you're feeling better, hopefully you'll all end up with more sleep now and feel even better!

Poppins, it's DS's birthday at 40+5 for me, and he's requested soft-play (which I'm happy to pay for since they'll organise everything!). So that tip might come in useful yet!

Night all. Hope there are some squishy babies to wake up to!

MrsElls · 13/03/2016 23:26

me don't beat yourself up about it, the most important thing is that your baby gets fed, how you choose to do it doesn't really matter. The main reason I'm sticking it out with bf is that I'm too lazy to constantly sterilise bottles.

RhubarbAndMustard · 14/03/2016 02:22

Me having just been there I know what your going through moving on to formula. But honestly, it was the best decision for us because like you said, now you can enjoy your newborn, not dread them waking up. As long as baby is fed, that's all that matters. Don't feel guilty.

Panna and maybe hope your stop start contractions produce a baby soon. Must be so frustrating for you.

Also impressed with all the walking going on. Going to be lots of fit mama's!

Jacob is doing really well, he's still a very sleepy baby, just waking to feed every 2-4 hours. He'll have a bit of look around but not for very long before snoozing again. And I'm finally loosing my water retention (hello ankles!). DS1 not at nursery tomorrow due to his UTI. DP got the bus to. 2 different pharmacies yesterday, both of which didn't stock his antibiotics, so need to get them first thing today. Also have midwife (day 10 check), health visitor and electrician coming - hopefully not all at the same time.

maybebabybee · 14/03/2016 05:10

At total breaking point. Fourth night in a row unable to sleep because of painful contractions every 20 mins.

I knew labour was painful but no one warned me this was a possibility. Keep calling midwives to be told it's all normal.

I have had long walks, bounced on ball, had baths, raspberry leaf etc. Nothing is helping. Literally nothing.

I am even starting to feel quite resentful towards my baby which is terrible.

IndomitabIe · 14/03/2016 06:22

Oh maybe, I really feel for you.

Can you/would you pitch up at the labour ward and ask for either an epidural to allow you to get some sleep, or some augmentation to hurry it along? (I had a spinal for repairs after entirely medicine-free birth of DS and immediately wondered what all fuss was about - I'd deffo ask for one in your position).

I can't help but wonder if men had to go through labour they'd be expected to put up with 4 days of pain?
