youngmum21 - don't feel bad about looking forward to going back to work - I felt exactly like that last time. It gets better as they get older, I found 12 weeks a real milestone. I only knew one or two people with same age babies last time too. Tried to see them on the same day every week, so I had something to look forward to! Also I made myself go to singing groups, baby massage or just for a walk to get out at least once a day. It does get easier, it must have I had a second!

have jabs today for ds1 and ds2 - calpol at the ready this afternoon - am bribing ds1 with a video from the library to watch a bit before and the rest afterwards! ds2 has had his BCG, but no other jabs yet, due to having a cold. Sure it won't make any difference having them 2 months apart either - otherwise they wouldn't schedule them like that would they?

I'm OK for the 24th, but would morning be better so we don't hit rush hour getting home? Just a thought.

Gingeme, I'm here honestly. I just don't seem to be able to switch the pc on much and if I do it's one handed (like now.)When do your boys move? I guess they'll have great holidays in London - best of both worlds.

Marthahm, just had a quick scan of your posts. Sorry to hear it hasn't gone as planned (has it for anyone?) Don't beat yourself up love. Healthy people of my age and older were raised on formula and it's got to be better now.

Congratulations on all of your news Emzickle. Blimey!

See you all again soon.

Dogmum there you are I was getting worried about you. My boys move on Friday. Theyre realy looking forward to it. Yes Theyll be here most hols. Think the next one is Easter though but hopefuly that means theyll be here for Davids 3rd birthday. How are you getting on with being a Mum? Hows your dog taken to lo? Just got back from my friends who has a dog and is expecting her second baby in April. The dog kept coming over to sniff Edward the plonked himself down on my foot and looking up at me every now and then. I felt very protected.
Ill get back to you about the 24th as soon as I find out what shifts dh is on but should be ok because he can always swap with someone else. Morning sounds good. Marthahm know how you feel but all my lot went on formula eventualy and their strong lads and nothing wrong with them what so ever. And as dogmum said its much better stuff now. Even has prebiotics in it to help healthy bacteria. Good luck with it.
lo was such a bum last night. Hes gone back to waking for his 12oclock feed.He was sick after that a bit so had to change his babygro. Had a smelly bum too so changed that at the same time. Just about to put the fresh babygro on and he weed on it.He was giving me great big smiles while doing all this though. I said to him'if you werent so cute Id realy go off you right mow!'. He he. Oh mummypossum have you seen those breast feeding necklaces on ebay? Theyre just colourful non toxic beeds which are meant to keep baby interested while feeding. Mught be worth a look even if to save your nips if nothing else.

Lucky you having clothse made of cashmere Mummypossum. Im in jeans jeans or sometimes if Im feeling realy glam jeans with beads on.

Thanks for thinking of me Gingeme. I've been thinking of you ladies too - just not got around to doing anything about it. I'm really emjoying being a mum - time has never passed so quickly before and every day is so amazing. The dog loves lo. He comes over for an occasional sniff and lick (we keep it to a minimum but it's better than a jealous dog) and if anyone else holds lo, he sits by their feet. He even nicked a muslin square to sleep on the other night.

Bendyb - I'm amazed that your lo is sleeping so well. The best Edward has done so far is seven hours.

I like the idea of cashmere and poo too. I can sympathise with grabbing first thing from wardrobe - I've been sponging sick off dry-clean only skirts and trousers.

Mummypossum: also having problems with W twisting round while feeding - not too painful, but the milk sprays everywhere! Not great for feeding in public either. Hands are also a great fascination: he's just started to be able to hold a rattle and thumps everything in reach to see if it will do anything interesting . When I try reading him a book he bats at the pages. Also chewing on everything in sight (especially hands) and dribbling - need to get more bibs

Meet up sounds great - will check dates and let you know

Emzickle: v impressive . I did wonder if I might be pg again, but all symptoms seem to have vanished so I think I was being paranoid . Will wait and see - the main worry I'd have is the sheer embarrassment of having to tell my boss I was pg AGAIN . Nice to have two LOs close together though.

Glad all is ok Dogmum. Had Edward weighed thi afternoon. Hes 10 weeks old and weighs 14 and a half pound. Seems massive to me as David was only 12lb at this age. Saying that David was smaller born. Hes in size 3 nappies now too.If he carries on like this Ill have to sort through my 6-9 month box of Davids clothesStill its better than having a skinny baby thats fussy feeding. Well glad all is ok. Take care xx

Wow what a lot od postings for one day! So much news to catch up on.

Congrats emzickle- it'll be fine- don't know how I would know but I know us women can do anything!
Makes me even more broody now!

youngmum- I kind of know how you feel too, sometimes I crave so grown-up conversation. I do think about going back to work earlier than a year especially if I plan to be pregnant when I go back! I have only one close friend that has a baby of 10 months and its always nice chatting to an good friend.
(I know she reads this thread so I have to say that!!!) Not really 3k.

24th I do actually think I can make. May do a trial run to London though as its a bit scary, may invest in a lightweight buggy too!

Just got back from slimming world and I lost 6.5lb this week. I'm celebrating with a piece of toblerone!

gingeme i hope the boys settle well up there. sounds like a good place.
dogsmum-you're back!
mummypossum i have the exposure of the veiny marrows constantly too. lo spends alot of time trying to engage people in conversation.
have a new regime for feeding courtesy of the hv. the great news is that hope has put on 1lb since thursday. i'm giving bf 48 hours of maximum effort and then will see with hv how much bf and how much formula. mum has been helping all day and will tomorrow too. i'm in pj's all day and doing as much bf as possible as often as poss and then using a dual pump between feeds. after 12 hours seems to be helping am managing to produce more milk so doing best to be positive. if it doesn't work then i'll know i've given it everything. it's funny, i think all my friends think i'm nuts for trying so hard with the bf. hope they'll understand better when they have kids.

LO had 2nd lot of injections on Tuesday- I was convinced they weren't going to do them because of her snuffle, but she was fine for them. She slept for rest of day and woke up every hour at night screaming, bit unsettled all day yesterday but last night she slept 9.30pm-7.15am!

bendyb- I'm determined to crack this posting a photo thing- I'll keep trying.

youngmum- am thinking about baby no. 2 prob july/august time. I have gone back on the pill until April/May. i just keep forgetting to take it.
Got to check out rights to maternity pay again if I go back pregnant- I think as long as I go back for at least 12 weeks. I work for NHS anyone know?

Have a good day all- weather is awful here in Gravesend- I think it is everywhere.

pmore - no idea on NHS mat rights -but believe they are quiet good aren't they?

DS2 had first jabs yesterday, ds1 had pre-school boosters - he wailed when he had his (he is 4), but was very brave to have the second lot, ds2 wailed too, but settled down very quickly. He was a bit clingy last night and was only quiet when being cuddled - not a problem that one!, but has been asleep since about 10:30 last night. Hope is back to being all content today, I have a hair cut soon.

Well done on weight loss - did I mention I have bought one of those 'lateral thigh trainers' - I have finally got it out of the box and up to the living room, but not got on it yet!

Dogmum - good to hear from you and that it is going well.

Marthahm - well done for persevering, and lucky you to have your mum so close.

pmore - just seen your second message - does that mean you have less mat rights if you go back pg?

Report

morningladies- i need a cuddle

thought I may be PG, was planning a test this morning, but woke up - started bleeding very heavily, lots of cramps. I am so sad, I was so happy thinking about having my little babies so close together, and DH said that perhaps this is a miscarriage.

now he thinks we should leave trying for another baby for a year or two... when yesterday he was completely happy with the idea of having a baby now

crap.

arse.
