Wow catgirl I was thinking about you this morning while I was brushing my teeth. Havnt heard from a few ladies on here lately.Sorry yes Ive known about the boys moving for a few months now. Took their Dad a while to sell his house but now he has and theyre off. Yes theyll have longer hols with me but their hols are all different up there. They have longer winter hols and shorter summer ones.
Talking of hols weve been looking at the Haven holiday parks. My SIL has been to some and says theyre very good for all the family. Anyone here been to any?
I started my period this morning. Thank goodness I say. Back to normal at last. Thats about it for now. Cant believe lo's 10 weeks tomm where has the time gone?

Hats off to you swizzler sticking with the 2 hourly feeding pattern for so long. I had that for one day last week and thought 'oh this must be one of those famous growth spurts everyone keeps going on about!'. I think W must be a big lad

My LO had first jabs today seems to be fine so far - he makes more of a fuss over having his nappy changed than having both legs jabbed. Was two weeks late having them due to past two bank hols also clinic was packed cos of this - lots of crying babies in waiting room, but got to meet a few local mums with same age babies.

Catgirl lucky you having two lie-ins like that, long may it continue. I was feeling quite smug that my lo is sleeping from 11pm-7am.

Congrats to emzickle
but for you gingeme

Hi All,

Martha -I started giving my LO 1 formula at night when she was 3 weeks old as had huge probs bf. Gradually upped the ff as she was very underweight too. I felt like a crap Mum too - unable to give her 'naturally' what she needed, however she is 13 weeks now and i have been ff and bf together for about 4 weeks now. She gets bf in night and first thing in morning and both the rest of the time. She is very happy and has increased weight dramatically withh ff supplements. It has taken the pressure off of me and she is healthy and happy - what we want for our LO's. My milk hasn't dried up at all - so don't worry and do what you feel is right for both of you.xx

Ginge - where are they moving to?

My SIL had a wee girl last night. Don't know the gory details yet but she was going in at 3 and getting induced and they had LO at 11.42pm - sounds like very fast induced labour to me. Lucky sod! Called her Sinead Olivia - nice name.

had Inlaws over for dinner Saturday - was late before they left and they kept picking up LO when she should have been napping consequently too tired for her evening bottle and awoke at 2.30am until 5am Grrrrr! Never doing that again. She has been off kilter ever since - just when trying to get evening sleep pattern introduced!!!

Hope you are all well. Been on v strict diet and lost 3 lbs since Wednesday! Only 2stone 10 to go!!!

Has anyone elses LO's started ramming their fingers into their mouths with gusto? Amber keeps making herself retch with her moth exploration!!

Martha - forgot to say - someone mentioned using newborn teats for your LO - I found that they tired my LO out sucking so much when she got to about 8 weeks (she fell asleep mid feed) so I used the 2nd flow teats and still do - she is fine with these.

Rumpel the boys are moving to Inverness. Their moving to a 5 bedroom house. Looks lovely from the pics they showed me. Right near the beach aparantly. Saw some grey seals the last time they visited. Im not sad theyre moving taffy101. I think theyll have a good life up there. The schools sound fantastic and the house looks beautiful. My eldest keeps saying they have a spare room so we can go to visit. Cant see my dh staying with my ex somehow. Yes my lo is sucking his fists too Rumpel. He makes himself retch too silly thing then starts to cry.

mummypossum- 23 weeks, wow that is early, hope the baby does well and grows stronger every minute.

LO has her 2nd injections today- dreading it as I heard that sometimes they are worse after their 2nd ones? Mind you got to wait and see if they actually do them because not sure if this is still a cold 2 weeks after it began.

Any news on next meet up? Can't wait everyone elses beautiful babies and mummies of course!

thought I would check in while waiting for ds2 to finish his poo! - oh the joys of it all!

can't believe ds2 is 12 weeks today, and in another 5 weeks could start him on good old baby rice, if I want to! I go to baby massage at the doctors every Tuesday, and the lady that runs it has organised for a pediatric dietician (or something like that) to come in and talk to us re weaning etc, which should be useful, as I can't really remember much from last time - yet!

Gingeme - lucky you starting your period again (one of those things that, pre-children, you never think you will say )

Rumpel, congrats to your sis in law, and know what you mean about in-laws - had 5 days of it over xmas, ds2 was getting so over-tired that in the end I took him off to the bedroom to give him some peace and quiet!

mummypossum, have you tried covering your lo with a muslin as you feed, have heard that sometimes stops them being nosy! Although haven't tired it myself, never bf to that point of nosiness!

all quiet from the other room - wish me luck!

just seen the 2 minute silence thing for ggglimpopo's daughter - what happened?

Catgirl how old is your ds2? David is 2.5 and has started having nightmares. He heard someone drilling the other night{we live in flats} and keeps getting nightmares about it. Hes fine if he sees the drill and if dh has ever used his hes fine. How do you deal with them? It took ages to get him bak to sleep last night and I ended up reading him a story at 3am !
DOGMUM , CLON Where are yooooo?

Gingeme: my ds1 is 4, but sometimes has nightmares - think prime age for them is between 2 and 5. Now he is in a big bed, I tend to get in with him (usually falling asleep myself!). Sometimes though he doesn't wake up properly and is just crying so I do the old shhhh-ing and rubbing of back. Doesn't get them often, usually when he is too hot or just about to be ill. Had a bad one once when he accidentally watch Dr Who (very peed off with the friend that let that happen). Have found that if he wants to talk about them he will, and that helps him, but sometimes he just wants to forget. DH still has nightmares occasionally too (maybe it is me? ) and he doesn't want to talk about his - says it would be like having them again. Hope that helps some - and hope he forgets about the noise quickly.

Great thanks. Just put him down for his nap and he said 'drill all gone now?'. must play on his mind every time he goes to bed. I used to have terrible nightmares. Mine were about my junior school though I hated it. Anyway any more thoughts about our meet up this month?

Hi All,

Gingeme - I just knew you were going to say Inverness - it is soo popular now, especially with people from down South. You can sell your house in England and get a much nicer one up North for less money. Inverness is beautiful, my parents live 70 miles North east of it, in a tiny croft village. I'd love to live on the Black Isle, however DH job is in East Kilbride, so no way boo hoo!

RE JAGS - Amber gets the snuffles after her jags for about a week and is poorly for 2 days. The next lot are 3 jags!! 31st Jan so will let you all know how it goes.

Been shopping for new neices pressies so am off to wrap them as A is sleeping.

x

Well done Emzickle he he no it realy isnt that bad. Are you pleased? Was it planned? How exciting for you. All those hormones racing round again though. Not fun. Hope your dh is prepared lol.
Feel washed out today this period is catching up after a year without. Definately no more babies here though thats for sure

Emzickle · 09/01/2007 19:38

well I havent had a period for well over a year now!!!

No, wasn't really planned, just been saying that if it happens, it happens. Wasn't really expecting it to be this soon though. Have to calm down a bit thoug - don't know for sure, havent done a test as yet. Wait til the morning, but I saw the doctor this morning, and he thinks its highly likely, he felt my tummy... talked about my sore breasts, sickness, general random head again. O crap.

catgirl · 09/01/2007 20:23

ohmygoodness Emzickle - congratulations! will they be in the same school year?? (not sure how my brain works sometimes!), but if you expecting you don't have to worry about losing that baby weight now do you!

Gingeme: shall we pick a date and then sort out venue? Tuesdays and Thursdays generally not good for me (I have ds1 on those days, other days he is with childminder).

How about Wednesday 24th for a meet up at 2pm at Victoria and Albert Museum? I think that is a better place to meet than Natural History Museum as the café does such yummy cakes etc.

Had first set of jabs yesterday for DD who was 11 weeks (surgery had been very busy over Xmas) and they can only book me in for the second set in two months' time. Do you think it is okay having two months in between jabs?

Congratulations Emzickle. Wow! And friends thought I must have a good sex life when I got pg when DS was 5 months' old! Yours must be amazing!!!
