Bluewater is great- it is on the A2 towards Kent. Not sure which way you would come from marthahm?
Maybe we could do a meet up in Bluewater meet up one day in February then I will definitely make a concerted effort for the museum. (May persuade my dad to go to work later again)
Did anyone find the answer about black cabs and buggies?

Gingeme-LOL- At the domdoms and tonight, I came off the pill- useless at taking it, apparently there is a contraceptive patch for females now, its remembering to change that too!

Any ideas how to help LO and a full blown cold- runny nose and everything, hope these last few weeks of constant snottyness is nearing an end- roll on summer months.

so my little girl has her jabs tomorrow and Im dreading it.... aaaaaahh

youngmum21 · 26/01/2007 08:52

does any one take there lo to see the doc if they got a cold dd has a snuffle for a few days but has been sneezing all morning and has a temp
(sorry if it sounds a stupid question!!!)

pmoore · 26/01/2007 09:37

Samantha has been backwards and forwards to the GP about 5 times in the last three weeks. She had been given antibiotics for a throat infection as it was inflammed. (She has been snuffly for three weeks.) Finally yesterday the cold has really come out it is horrible.

GP's don't mind- (well most) if you are worried about LO take her- you know her best. Your mind will be at ease.

Rumpel · 26/01/2007 09:51

Hi All,

Youngmum - doc won't be able to do anything for your LO if it is a cold. You could try giving cooled boiled water between feeds to keep her hydrated, keep her cool if she has a fever. I put a couple of drops of olbas oil on a hankie and place it near them, or hold it under her nose when LO is bunged up.

I always find A is very snotty for about a week after her jags. She has her 3rd and final lot for a year on the 31st - am dreading it as it is 3 jags! Plus she has only now stopped getting diarrhoea after the last lot.
The thing is our LO's will be snotty for the forseeable future 'cos they will be exposed to germs/viruses all the time. It's how we build our immune systems after all. Last time I heard there were about a 100 diff cold viruses - they change their coat to fool your immune system you see. So by the time you reach a 100 you might be immune from the cold!!

My LO is being a MONSTER at the mo'. Awake 2.30am, 3.30am,4.30am, food at 5.50am, up at 7.20am I am SOOOOOOOOOO tired. She hasn't slept through now since a fortnight tomorrow.
Have no idea why as I am feeding her plenty, I even get her up at 8pom now for a couple of hours to try to make sure she is tired enough to sleep and awake enough to eat.

What are you all doing with your Child Vouchers? I see there is a slot on the Wright Stuff about them and The Sunday Times had an article about them last week.

Sorry for giant post.

totallyfloaty35 · 26/01/2007 12:29

Hi all,not posted for a while and im so sad that i missed the meet up,must try and get to the next one.I have a rotton cold at the mo and when i sneeze while feeding LO she bursts into tears
She has next lot of jabs on feb 5th,horrible i cant bear my baby being hurt, she looks so outraged.
Still not had my 6 wk check or my smear,in fact should book it now

Swizzler · 26/01/2007 14:06

Getting serioiusly annoyed by the whole teeth thing, W up at 2am, 4am then every hour... Didn't feed every time, and went back to sleep after applying the Ambusol. Calpol gave us 4 hours in the evening though so went to bed early! Jabs next week, so I've a feeling he'll be unsettled for a while...

Reading some of the other posts in the Sleep section, seems like many people find their LO gets more restless and wakes more at about 4 months, so all our sleeping probs could be completely normal.

Still in my pjs, so better get moving!

Emzickle · 26/01/2007 14:09

when they have jabs, on the third set at about 14 weeks, is it three injections then?

LO just had her first lot, she's had some calpol and is very sleepy which is so unlike her Is this normal?

PrettyCandles · 26/01/2007 14:21

Yes it is, Emzickle. I gave ds2 a dose 30mins before his first set, and he was totally stoned for about 5 hours afterwards! Quite funny to see, really, because he slept for ages, woke for a feed but couldn't control his eyes or his head, and then passed out again for another long sleep. Was much more himself that evening, a bit crotchety the next day, and then back to normal.

catgirl · 26/01/2007 15:17

wuzzlefraggle - where in Wales are you from? I am from North Wales, but now live in London.

Marthahm - hope your lovely girl behaved herself last night.

Was supposed to get some passport photos of ds2 done today, but I couldn't bring myself to wake him up - had to wake him up for the singing group we do, and he fell asleep as I was putting him back in the pram. Maybe that will be Monday's trip out,so I don't have to wake him twice. But did manage to open his bank account.

Re black cabs and buggies - I have taken the buggy in the back of a cab - just made sure I put the brakes on. Did it with ds1 too, without any problems.

Can't make a Bluewater meet up (no car), but enjoy. Anyone want to pick a date for Childhood Museum March met up?

Anyway, going to try and sort out some washing now.... have a lovely weekend ladies.

marthahm · 26/01/2007 20:57

have stopped bf entirely. now panicking that may be getting mastitis. feel sick and headachey. anyone help? had been feeding so little didn't think it would have any affect if just stopped completely.

Gingeme · 26/01/2007 21:41

No sorry cant help marthahm. I know one of the signs is hot and red boobs but not sure about feeling sick and headachy. Though I did feel a bit light headed when I went cold turkey. Hope all is ok. Another successful day re the bottles up to 8oz. Lo went 4 hours and more between feeds. Lets keep fingers crossed it affects his night feeds too. Well I have a busy weekend with my parents visiting so Ill wish you all a good weekend

PrettyCandles · 26/01/2007 22:06

Thanks for reminding me, Catgirl - I have to get ds2 a passport, and renew ds1's, so I must get them to a photographer asap. BTW, re waking the baby, that's not necessary. Babies under 6m don't have to have their eyes open. link{http://www.passport.gov.uk/general_photos_babies.asp\look}

PrettyCandles · 26/01/2007 22:07

I don't know where I went wrong with that link. Try again!

look

PrettyCandles · 26/01/2007 22:10

Aaaargh!

link{http://www.passport.gov.uk/general_photos_babies.asp\look}

PrettyCandles · 26/01/2007 22:12

Oh, I see. The url includes the low dash character, which MN uses to underscore text.

catgirl · 27/01/2007 09:56

prettycandles - thanks for that, won't worry too much on Monday then, if I can't get him to wake up!

Marthahm - hope you are feeling better - I did feel a little like that, and worried I was getting mastitis, but took some paracetamol and felt better - maybe you are coming down with a cold - not sure which is worse! If your boobs do feel lumpy at all, try rubbing the lump out towards the nipple, if that makes sense.

Older brother still has not phoned back re christening, which is next Saturday - how difficult is it to say yes or no ... I know it is short notice (and have said as much on both messages), so don't expect any plans to be changed, but as I have chased for an answer, saying I need to know numbers for restaurant etc and it is small do so if they are not coming I can invite someone else.... aghhh ... must chill out ... must chill out.... anyone else have families that just ignore invitations like this?? Please say yes to make me feel better!

majormoo · 27/01/2007 14:33

martha when i had mastitus i kept feeling hot and cold and my boob was red. fingers crossed you are not getting it.

ds was up at 1am, 3.30am,5am and 6.30am last night.aaaah. at least it gives me some comfort that we are not alone and others are waking too.

we're only just thinking about the christening-will be summer by the time we do it which is not impressing my mother as he will be so big by then. had dd's chistening at 11 weeks and it was exhausting so no rush this time.

have to get dd's school forms in next week-cannot believe she will be at school in september.aug baby so only just 4.

as my evenings revolve around tv did anyone see big brother last night. i thought davina gave jo a harder time than she did jade.

nicand2 · 27/01/2007 18:02

Hello all,

Stuck inside all weekend as DS1 is covered in spots so i think he has chicken pox, trying to keep him away from DS2 as much as possible but not convinced he won't catch it.

Oh well, hope the tv's good this weekend!

catgirl · 27/01/2007 19:29

sympathies nicand2 - if you have not done chickenpox before we found Medised good (paracetamol with an anti-histamine in it - stops itching and makes them drowsy ) and putting bicarb of soda in the bath to also help stop the itching.

Majormoo - we are the opposite - ds1 was christened on his 2nd birthday! No way am I wrestling with a 2 year old over the font again! Only had the date from the priest this week, so all very last minute - but our godparents are due to have their 2nd child around 9 Feb, so would rather do it now than after Easter. I have had to apply for school too - except ds1 is a September baby so will be just 5 - scary isn't it?!

Just bought myself a choc bar to de-stress with after I ring my brother again.

wuzzlefraggle · 28/01/2007 12:00

cat - im from south wales

martha - hope that u are feeling better x

id never thought of giving a dose of calpol before the injections...which calpol are u all using? the 1 for 2 months and over?

Emzickle · 28/01/2007 12:45

hi all, hope your all well.

Wanted to ask a quick question, sorry if TMI.

Has any one else had any problems going to the loo since birth of LO? When I say going to the loo, I dont mean having a wee?

wuzzlefraggle · 28/01/2007 13:01

hi emzickle, well, the only probs i had was that my poop (sorry, this wll be far tmi) was stupidly big and solid as a bloddy rock, so it kept cutting me a little bit, oh and i would only be going once every 3 or 4 days. ahem, its cleared up now though and alls normal-ish

so there we go, now u all know about wuzz's speradick (sp?) monster poops as well ass her smears
