BENDYB · 22/01/2007 15:34

wuzzlefraggle · 22/01/2007 15:39

LOL!! mine is booked for tomorrow at 3:30!! eeek. must admit, the thought of fanny farting makes me laff too, could u imagine the nurses face lol. its just one of those stupid things that is making me worry lol. like with having the baby, it was pooing the bed that i was worrying about

i apologise ladies

wuzzlefraggle · 22/01/2007 15:41

[shudder] sorry again, i hate the term fanny fart, but queef is just as bad imo....im going to shut up now. sorry [wuzz sits in the corner facing the wall]

pmoore · 22/01/2007 15:47

I have to have my smear too. Went to GP this morning and apparently if you restart pill you can bleed for all of first three cycles.

LO still has her throat infection- so more antibiotics.

mummypossum- thanks for the probiotic tip, shall go and buy some when the weather cheers up.

DogMum · 22/01/2007 16:05

Thanks for the going out tip, Mellin. I'm planning to be away 3 hours max. Must try and find some clothes that don't have poo or sick on them.

pmsl at your smear comments wuzzle. Remember the person giving you the test probably has them too and it's better than cervical cancer (on the increase apparently because people aren't going for their smears.)

Have a lovely time at the meet-up ladies. We'll try and make it next time.

youngmum21 · 22/01/2007 17:21

wuzz= i had one bout a year ago and it nothing to worry bout i was in a panic and it was over really fast no embarresing noises, least this time it will one be one nurse looking at your bits and not loads!!!

Gingeme · 22/01/2007 17:49

You do suprise me wuzz worrying about your smear test. I generaly thought once youve had a baby all your inhibitions go out the window, or maybe thats just me. Im one of those good girls that have a smear test every 4 years. Thats for the fact Ive lost to of my family to cervical cancer.
lo's been brill today re feeds. Every 4 hours now thank goodness. A proper routine atlast. Plus it means my Mum wont be getting at me this weekend that Im feeding him too much or 'if hes that hungry shouldnt he be starting solids?'. Does make me cross that she chooses to talk to me as if Ive never had kids before. Making me smile with all you new mummies being worried about going out without lo's. It does feel strange at first but trust me you do get used to it. Oh catgirl Dh bought some latex free domdoms yesterday. Hes got a weeks holiday next week so hopefuly well be able to try them out.

Rumpel · 22/01/2007 19:47

Evening All,

Wuzz - NEVER had a noisy smear - please let me know if you do 'cos I've never heard fo that before - tee hee .

Mellin - you'll get Weleda on ebay. I use the lotion to massage LO every day after her bath. Burt's Bees are good to and smell delicious - ebay also.

At baby clinic to day - Amber weighs in at 15lb3ozs and 24.5 inches long. \she'll be 16 weeks on wednesday!!

Well I finally did it - I succumbed and gave her a small teaspoon of stewed pureed pear last night. She keeps waking now and I am sooo tired and felt she needed more food. Still woke at 3.30am - 5.30 am then again at 7.30am!! Boo hoo. Gave her 1 teaspoon this evening and will give her another later on and hope that that helps to satisfy her. Very funny face last night at pear taste - videod it for keeping. Yummy face today though so she likes it.

Am having to suss out creches as am going back to uni soon only part time though.??

Hi. Lots of snow here today (not as much as gemmitygem but enough) tis beautiful but lethal, was too scared to drive to tesco for shopping. Might shop online think I have a voucher for free delivery.

DH set up LOs bedroom at weekend and was exasperated when I still brought LO into moses basket in our room! He's only 12 weeks he's too little to go in that big cot yet! DD stayed in our room till 5 months and we were both sad to see her go in own room but DH keeps walking into my dressing table cos there's so little room, so I think LO will have to go soon

Wuzz good luck with smear you'll be fine. Must say I've not worried about fanny farting in the past but I bet I will next time tho.The embarrassment is much better than the alternative tho as gingeme mentions.

Keep putting off taking minipill cos I don't want periods - hope I don't get pg!!!!

Gingeme · 22/01/2007 19:59

Oh taffy1 be careful girl please? Get some latex free domdoms like I have.
Lol at stewed pear face Rumpel. I can only imagine. Lo was funny when I gave him Gripe water a couple of times. Hes got used to it now . He just loves the taste of Calpol though after his jabs.
Dont envy any of you ladies who have snow. I hate the stuff. When my two older ds's moved to Scotland they said'yeah and it snows every Christmas up here'. I tried to sound enthusiastic !!!

Rumpel · 23/01/2007 08:32

Morning All - fingers crossed the pears worked. Shuffuffle at 3am and 4.30 but slept through until 7.30am I now feel stupid today - you know that way when you haven't slept for ages, then when you do you just need more and are fuzzy headed.

Gingeme - used to snow in November/December up North, tends to be later in the year now though - Feb/March. I was up at my Mum's a few years ago, for a comp' health show near Inverness. It started snowing and the next morning I had to climb over a 6' drift at our door to get out. Took me 7 hours to feed all the animals 'cos of the snow. I was snowed in for a week! It was like a toboggan run in my little renault clio when I eventually managed to leave!

Wuzz - today wasn't it? How did it go?

I still haven't had a period yet - think it is due though 'cos my chin is like a mini pizza!

Talking of smear tests reminded me of a story I heard on the radio a while back so i thought I'd share it with u to cheer everyone up on a dark January morning,

'A lady was contacted by her gynaecologist to say they'd had a cancellation and they could see her a short notice, as she didn't have time for a shower she went into the bathroom and gave herself a quick wash with the flannel. When she was laying on the couch, legs akimbo the gynae commented that 'she had made herself up this morning' the woman thought what a cheek he had to make such a comment. When she went home she went back to the bathroom to put the flannel in the wash and was mortified to find it had been the flannel that her little girl had used to wash the glitter off herself the day before!' imagine it, sparkly bits!

totallyfloaty35 · 23/01/2007 09:13

v funny Nic am due for smear, but still not had 6 wk check yet(had to change dr in the end as last one so slow always kept waiting for at least an hour)may get round to it this wk.
pulled a muscle in my neck so can hardly move and am in agony,am hoping lo doesnt wake up yet as wont be able to lift her out of hammock without dh.
She weighs over 14lb now and is 61cms long, has grown huge amount in last 3wks and im mad about her,she is so sweet amd smiley and sleeps loads, what more could i ask for
Have a great day ladies

Gingeme · 23/01/2007 10:00

lol nicand2 I heard a similur story about a lady who needed a wee before her smear test but there was no toilet roll so she used a tissue from her bag. Later she had the test and before the gyne started he handed her 2 green shield stamps and asked if they were any good now.
Had a crappy crappy night with lo last night.Got them both to bed by 7.40 again watched all the tele I wanted. Anyone watch Trial and Tribulation? Dh came home from work early had a cuddle on sofa till 11.30. Went to bed settled and dropped off 12am lo woke crying tried for 20 mins to settle him with his dummy. Didnt work ended up giving him a bottle which he drank 3 oz of and went back to sleep settled back down. 3am lo woke again changed his bum tried again with the dummy for 20 mins. Didnt work ended up another bottle. 4 oz this time.Slept till 8. Phew! Oh for a few more hours sleep please?
Sorry about that just had to have a moan to people who understand me. His clinic is on tomm afternoon so if I time it right after the meet up Im gonna pop in and have a word with the health visitor about solids.
Lo's certainly made up for it with tonnes of smiles and giggles so Ill take that as an apology

Gingeme · 23/01/2007 10:01

Retribution even. Oh need sleepzzzzzzzzzz

taffy101 · 23/01/2007 14:07

Don't worry gingeme am stocked up with domdoms, if i get the enerrgy might use them.
Sympathy to everyone with noisy/sleepless babies. My lo sleeps thru but still snuffly - i am getting good sleeps but still tired so don't envy you.

A mad woman accosted me today for tying my dog up outside doctors!! said i was cruel cos dog was standing on ice. She said i should consider walking my dog seperately to going to drs, fgs wish i had the time. I just walkedoff as didn't want to row in street with 3yo dd watching. Was panicking tho cos had to tie 'poor' dog up outside chemist while i got prescription and also outside shop when i went for milk. Thought she was going to dognap her! gonna start an "am i evil dog owner?' thread

Had chimney swept today - MASSIVE jackdaw nest in it. Can have nice toasty fires and my dog can warm her paws up

Gingeme · 23/01/2007 15:22

Oh you wicked woman you taffy1. If you treat your dog like that how on earth do you treat your children.
Going to a childrens party at 5 today. My friends ds is 2. Think Ill sit in the corner and fall asleep while ds3 just gets on with it. Wont have to worry about lo either. As soon as Ill get there my friend takes him straight off me for a cuddle.
I know I keep saying it but realy looking forward to tomm. Meeting some different mmners. x

marthahm · 23/01/2007 15:26

ahhh, just relaxing after mil has left us, with catching up on mnet whilst attached to double pump like a cow. how fab is this-sadly we only have 1 spare room which is now lo's, so she had to sleep in her room and was therefore perfectly placed to sort the baby out when she cried at 4am.
mellin, hv told me to gently rub bit between eyebrows with a wet muslin then put the olive oil in as that way it absorbs better.
pmor are you coming to the meet up? if so i could have a quick look at samantha's head shape from professional capacity as kids osteopath. from what you say about her holding it one way sounds like you should see an osteo. she looked beautiful on your pics though.
wuzz, i was gobsmacked to get bad result on smear 2years ago, only 27 at the time. i had stage3 changes and had to have an op to prevent cancer so well worth having smear for me. i still hate them and v embarrassed, still, was having to go back every 2 months after op so got used to it.
really looking forward to meet up tomorrow. am knitting away swizz so i can get you to correct all my mistakes tomorrow

majormoo · 23/01/2007 22:31

evening all. like you martha I've had surgery for pre-cancerous cells so am bloody glad I went for my smears. They don't take long. Have mine next week. Read in the paper recently new research shows loop excision (op I had) can lead to premature birth so glad I didn't read it til after DS arrived (a week late) or I would have been worried myself stupid.

I am so jealous of you lot with babies sleeping through. No such luck here.

hope the neck improves soon totally.

Enjoy your meet up tomorrow. I was in London today so shame it wasn't today or I could have come along. I went along to Kings for a follow up appointment with the psychotherapist I saw there whilst pregnant.I am glad I went along as it was lovely to show her ds-she got tears in her eyes. I suppose it must be nice to see someone coming out the other side of their grief when you are constantly seeing people who have lost their much wanted babies. It is my BIL's birthday today so it was this week last year that I found out I was pregnant. What a year!
