Hi Everyone...Sorry I haven't been around since Jn but all I can say is that life has been hectic..Before I forget Congrats to Maddison on the pregnancy (you must be around 22 weeks now) and also to holly and anyone else who I have forgot..Its nice to know that other may05 mums are having more babies..
Right where do I start.....DS was born after a horrendous 11+ hour labour weighing 9lb 13oz. Harry Nathaniel. He is the double of his sister esp when she was his age and is such a gorgeous guy..
BUT life has not been without its problems. When 3 days old he was admitted to pendlebury childrens hospital and although was allowed home after a week it wasn't until he was 5 weeks and had undergone 3 rectal biopsys that we found out his has been ill with " hirschsprungs disease". Basiclly there are nereves missing from his lower bowel so he can't poo properly. Very serious so an operation was needed to correct it. After a 3 hour operation he came back to the ward BUT a day later was rushed back for emergency surgery as he'd developed an infection of his colon. The only option was to fit a stoma (colostomy bag) . Harry is now 13 weeks old and is such a happy alert baby is gives us so much joy. He is back in hospital at the end of May for another operation to check all is going ok with his bowel and then hopefully the stoma will be reversed come the summer.
I honestly didn;t imagine anything like this and having gone from our dd who has never given us any real concern to our ds who has been quite sick its been a constant worry and an eye opener. He is putting on weight and dispite what he's been through he is now 12lb 15 oz.
He is so alike dd yet so unlike her iykwim..!! A nightmare feeder unlike dd yet a brill sleeper like dd .!!
Life with a newborn and a toddler is hectic and tiring and I have never drunk so much wine and I must admit with my 2nd baby my weight is even less of an issue..So what Im 2.5 stone overweight but when you put it into comparision of how precious life is weight means nothing.
BUT its worth everything we have experienced over the last year following conception. So those of you who are pregnant now have down days don't worry..you can do it. Yes it is hard BUT its rewarding eventually..well we hope so anyway!!!
Its nice to catch up with everyone btw.
Well dd....she is 2 next wednesday and I can't beleive how fast time went. She is adorable and is so independant. She loves a music group we attend and is so outgoing. She is not potty trained yet ( the hv can bog off..!!! I have enough on my plate!) and is still in a cot BUT given the fact that there is a lot of upheaval atm we don't want to stress her iykwim. Also she is such a livewire that I couldn't trust her to stay in her bed without wrecking her room..!! She is honestly like me and can't sit still for 10 seconds let alone 10 minutes..!!
She is speaking loads and is just able to say her brothers name which is so cute to listen to. She gives us high 5's and usually wakes at 9am singing the theme tune from fifi or postman pat..or po pat car, po pat car as she likes to sing..! Tee hee.. Cute toddlers..! A lovely stage but also sad as my baby is no longer a baby...
For her birthday we are just going to have people around for a few hours in the evening and dh & I are going out for lunch with her..Given last years issues at dd's 1st birthday (drink fuelled) Im not going down that route and if people don't like it then tough!
Hope you are all ok. xxxx
