Flowers for bad day yesterday clumsy hope today has been better!

Sorry you're not getting much sleep haq it makes everything so much harder. Being so tired you can't nap sounds like what these babies struggle with!

Hope your dh's shoulder gets better soon handbag

I am tired today. Not sure why as babycud has actually been sleeping well the last few nights. Dh hasn't been around much today as cycling this morning and gone to his parents this afternoon. Won't be back till late. Poor ds1 has had me being pretty grumpy at him a lot of the day and babycud has been generally grumpy too. Think he might be in one of those developmental leaps as he is struggling with naps, fussy and just not very happy. But ds1 is in bed, baby is feeding then hopefully going to bed and i have a jacket potato in the oven. Hopefully i'll get an early night and be in a better mood tomorrow...

cudbywestrangers · 30/04/2016 19:42

And they definitely grow too quick. I got the 3-6 month clothes out last week and some are already on the small side for my 12 week old chunk Shock

clarabellski · 30/04/2016 23:03

I did a bit sort out of clothes this afternoon and had to put some unworn 0-3 stuff away as it is too small. He is already in 3-6 sleepsuits despite being 10 weeks this coming Monday. The size difference between different brands is quite shocking - worse than adult clothes!

HandbagFan · 30/04/2016 23:14

DH has been to the physio twice - Tuesday then again Friday. On Friday she said she can't do much while he's in so much pain so he went to the doctors that afternoon where he was pretty much dismissed by the nurse he saw and given some strong cocodemol. It gives him a bit of relief but the pain doesn't go away. He's had some sleep today after 4 nights awake so fingers crossed he's feeling a bit more human but it's amazing what an impact it's us on us all.

He's away with work for three nights in a couple of weeks and I was petrified. After the past week I know I can cope! Silver linings...

clarabellski · 01/05/2016 16:54

Oh dear handbag that's rubbish.

Both me and mil have put out our backs! Doh! Happens every now and again but particularly annoying now when trying to lift ds!

Meant to say that the fanny doctor has sorted my tearing down there. It's feeling much better although not braved the sex yet. I'm a born again virgin!

Is anyone finding time to read and has any book recommendations? Just finished a really depressing novel so looking for something life affirming!

NorthernChinchilla · 01/05/2016 19:07

Good news you're getting sorted clara. I've read the most recent Bill Bryson which is pretty cheerful. Not bothering with anything that's got a plot, so lots of history stuff too.

Glad to know DD started a trend with pooing on trousers Grin I should warn all those bf'ing that last night, for complicated reasons, she managed to latch on on the underside of my boob, underneath the nipple, and essentially give me a hicky. It hurt....

How old is your DC cud? We're only about to move into 3-6.

By the way, do I have the only child that isn't soothed by being in the car? If she's grumpy, needs to sleep or eat, she screeeeeams the place down, only stopping when removed from the vehicle Hmm

LibertyBelles · 01/05/2016 19:16

northern my DDs just gone into 3-6 month clothes too, she's 13 weeks tomo.

Also she's done the underboss suck in the dark, God it hurts doesn't it!!

clumsypots · 01/05/2016 20:51

I had an over the boob hickey the other week and a bite, that hurt!

Dh is finally back in the land of the living and my hands have been freely bleeding from all the cleaning. Managed to bleach the sofa, dye a tea towel green and a bed sheet purple in the process...domestic goddess I am not. Although I did make him a chicken broth from scratch yesterday which seemed to go down rather well.

Dd has returned from the in laws and sat on my foot when it was on its side (she is very heavy) so sat here with an ice pack trying to stop the swelling, it's throbbing like crazy and my knee is starting to hurt as it twisted too!

clara glad your bits are on the mend.

haquoi123 · 02/05/2016 01:22

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear of all the illness and injuries!! Sad really hope that recovery is swift.

I've been a bit awol, sorry, the last two weeks of sleepless nights has taken a considerable toll, but I'm feeding bubs after a 3 hour snooze so there's hope yet!

I'll be back with a proper catch up soon

Troika · 03/05/2016 12:39

Hope everyone is feeling better and getting more sleep.

Dd is sleeping well at the moment, feed at 9/10 when we go up to bed, waking at some point between 12 and 4.30 for another feed and then more sleep til 5/6/7. I'm well impressed Grin

Jabs were horrible, she seemed really poorly for a good 24 hrs afterwards and not her usual self for 72hrs. More in a few weeks Sad

Went camping for the weekend, really enjoyed it and dd slept just like normal. I was worried about her being cold but seemed to get the layers just right. Other worry was if she annoyed everyone around by crying but she was fine.

I am slightly panicking as we finally got round to dtd and didn't use any contraception. Dd is still exclusively bf, but her last feed of day is expressed milk (and I express for the following day whilst dp feeds her). No periods yet. But does the fact I was suddenly up for the sex mean I was ovulating???? Shitting myself! So stupid...

NorthernChinchilla · 03/05/2016 14:08

Ah...well, the question is how you'd feel with another baby in nine months troika, eeek! Otherwise it's going to be MAP or hope....
My DD was also out of sorts for a few days too, dreading the next round as they're the du before OH's birthday.

Grin that loads of us have had the hickey fun.

We're off to accept DS's school today, if DD cheers up. Slight issue that it would appear my sling is still in the car, so will have to use the pram, which is not ideal if she's got the grumps Confused

clumsypots · 03/05/2016 17:03

Oh troika the condom split our first time after too which is why I had the coil fitted so quickly. I couldn't cope with another one just yet although dh keeps asking

How did the school go northern?

cudbywestrangers · 03/05/2016 20:07

Sorry to hear of illness and injury and sleep deprivation. Not to mention contraception scares!

We're doing pretty well. Babycud is 12 weeks now and was 15lb a couple of weeks ago. That's around about average for a 6 month old so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that the 3-6 month clothes are a bit snug, especially when we're in cloth nappies.

The really good news here is that babycud has slept through from 8ish to 6ish the last few nights Grin daytime naps are all wonky and he's getting overtired but once he's down in the evening that seems to be it at the moment Grin just wish my boobs would catch up. I'm waking at 5 completely bursting. Don't know whether to pump amd try to get back to sleep or if that will just delay things settling down.

haquoi123 · 03/05/2016 23:34

troika another dtd without protection here... We were going to use bf as contraception but enough people have told us don't and for once I actually don't want to get pregnant! I've just left it though, I'm steering away from MAP as synthetic hormones really effect me. We'll see! :s on another note, bf is 98% effective if you do it right... And camping, that's brave! Did you get good weather?

We've got jabs next Monday, really not looking forward to it at all. Poor baby.

Great news about the weight gain cud, ds is about the same! And even better about the sleeping, can I get some sleep vibes off you??

How was the school chinchilla?

Troika · 04/05/2016 07:06

Haquoi fingers crossed for both of us. I think I'm most worried as dp and i have only dtd unprotected twice before- and I've got pregnant both times! The first time we hadn't been together long and I took the MAP but it didn't work. Miscarried a few weeks later though. The second time was dd! I told dp I was scared and he wasn't bothered at all, just said if you are you are. I really want to enjoy dd's babyhood though not ruin it with feeling ill and then having another baby before she's one.

NorthernChinchilla · 04/05/2016 08:36

School was grand, though we have to give evidence of residence, and the generic letter from the LA did not include two of the documents needed, so I'll have to go back! Thankfully it's literally 5 mins away. Felt a real mix of excitement and 'how is my baaaaaby big enough for schooooool' when going there.

Good luck troika and haq, hope you are/aren't as desired! I was amazed, given my family history, that I conceived all three times within a few weeks, and (TMI) DD was without dtd properly, so to speak. Fertility/conception is such a lottery.

Awesome sleeping from babycud there! I found when we were going through cluster feeding followed by five hours' kip, I expressed some just for comfort and to avoid mastitis. I didn't pump out every last drop though, and it seemed to sort itself out.

DD had an epic morning nap yesterday, 8-12.45 Shock which utterly buggered her sleep for the rest of the day. Given that we were in bed, I'm taking one for the team and not returning to bed in the morning now, unless I'm shattered. Hopefully that'll help sort it. I'll start trying to put her in her crib/moses basket for naps and the first part of the evening sleep in the next week or two....

clumsypots · 04/05/2016 12:47

cud awesome sleeping! Do you give another feed before you go to bed?

That's good with the school northern

Just been to see hv ds is now 13lb 7 Smile fil has come down with the bug and has lost over a stone in 3 days, I feel really guilty asking them to come over to keep a eye on dh when I went to moms feed ds now.

Troika · 04/05/2016 12:48

That's frustrating northern. At least you don't have far to go.

Dd was super happy all of yesterday but has been in a grump this morning. I didn't go to toddler group because I didn't want a repeat of last week! She's just been fed, changed and is now happy on her mat so fingers crossed she stays happy now!

Troika · 04/05/2016 12:52

Cross post clumsy. Sounds like a really nasty bug. Fingers crossed everyone is better soon.

clarabellski · 04/05/2016 14:58

Hi ladies

Well done on DTD troika and haq and hope you didn't have any accidents! I've now had implant in for 2 weeks so I'm good to try without any additional protection, but not sure when I'll be brave enough. Wine may need to be involved Wink

Just gave DS a massage (well, my approximation of what I learned in 2 sessions of baby massage class) before putting him down for his afternoon nap. He seemed to like it and was yawning and sleepy looking after it. He does randomly wake himself up with a sort of yelp/cry now and again during his nap though... I rush in to see what's happening and he is sleeping again! Ah well, good exercise for me!

cudbywestrangers · 04/05/2016 15:26

Hope dd stayd happy troika!
Glad school was good northern although getting the admin sorted sounds frustrating. I can't believe we'll be looking at schools later in the year.
That is one nasty bug clumsy really hope everyone recovers soon.

Will send night-time sleep vibes to everyone, you don't want our daytime ones! We're not doing a feed when i go to bed. Was thinking about it when he was waking but before I made a decision he stopped waking! Ds1 hated being disturbed when we tried it for him which made me hesitate. Babycud does feed a lot during the day so guess he stocks up for a long gap overnight...
Best go, need to take them both shopping for a few bits after this feed which will likely be a disaster. Ds1 decided not to nap but head babycud's room and wake him up instead. Grrrrr!!!

Newmamatobe · 05/05/2016 01:44

Hello ladies!!

Just kind of got caught up in baby cycle/routine/madness!

I'm so drained, DD is really irritable and crying lots, I know it's nothing health physical so just trying to hang in there :(

BUT my love for her is insane!!! Amazing :-)

Hugs all I'll catch up on missed messages soon x

NorthernChinchilla · 05/05/2016 07:05

Hi mama, have you had her checked for allergies and/or reflux? I was chatting with my friend last night and she was recounting the first year with her DS who had both, big time. And is someone keeping an eye on you- day in/out with an unhappy baby is tough Flowers

Off to HV clinic for weigh in this afternoon, see how my little chubbster is doing. Yesterday was OK on the evening sleep front; dropped off about half seven and then had the odd wake here and there before properly zoning at nine. Not the best evening to try, as DP was watching the Champions League semi final and I was meant to be catching up with the friend mentioned above. I ended up taking DD into the dark bedroom to hold her and just chat quietly over her...

DS is on a 90s trip at the moment, SpongeBob SquarePants!!

NorthernChinchilla · 05/05/2016 07:06

Zoning should be zonking!

HandbagFan · 05/05/2016 17:45

Took DS to the weigh-in clinic today. 12lbs 2ozs at 10+4. He's come up the centiles over the past few weeks but is still below the 50th. Then we went to vote, took DH's dry cleaning in and got some bits from Tesco. I'm knackered! He's sleeping now and I'm wishing I was.

Is anyone on the medium teats yet? We're on the slow flow but I was asking the health visitor when you should move up. Packaging says 3m but I'm interested in the signs I should be looking for.

Also think we're about to go into size 3 nappies. DH bought 480 size 2s from Amazon and I don't think we're going to use them! Size one lasted for ages but he's growing quickly at the moment.

I've also been buying a lot of clothes the past couple of weeks in size 3-6. He's not there yet but I want them ready for when he is. I did buy some rompers in 0-3 yesterday though for this weekend - he's getting sticky in the warm afternoons. Looking forward to seeing him in them!

Hope everyone's ok!
