PUT THE PRAM BRAKES ON

Sadly tonight on the news there was a 5 month old baby that drowned, the mother who was out jogging was answering a mobile call, while the pram rolled down the embankment into a river, the pram was not found for 20 minutes and the baby couldn't be revived. I feel very sad, the poor mum.

My Dh and I on two seperate occasions have stopped prams from rolling on to busy roads, because the brakes were not on or not on properly.

WHY don't they teach you important things like this in pre-natal classes??? could save lives.

I'm reminded of the time when I was standing outside a shop and my dd's pram got caugt by a gust of wind. I only just stopped it from blowing into the road.

What a nightmare for that poor mum.

it's one of the reasons i bought a new pram as the brakes on mine didn't catch very well and i noticed a few times that they weren't actually on when i thought they were.

Every time I get on a bus, there's a parent that doesn't put the brakess on pushchairs.
As soon as the bus brakes or goes round a corner, pushchair flies out of control, either hitting another passsenger, ME, or child nearly falling out because they're not strapped in!
