How did she react, Sunny?

I'm jealous of your meet up!

And I'm so busy I end up being a bit erratic on here. But...has anybody seen the water-drinking ('thirsty') thread in AIBU? It's utterly bonkers! That's been taking all my time this week!

cuphat · 15/08/2015 09:12

No I haven't. Off to have a look...

cuphat · 15/08/2015 09:37

Wow. I drink lots of (tap) water. We're all different in our needs, surely. I've never had a water infection, haven't had a headache since childhood and didn't suffer with constipation during pregnancy, when it seems to be common. I know people who drink very little and they do suffer with water infections and headaches (often caused by dehydration, though obviously not always). Too scared to post on the thread though!

HungryHorace · 15/08/2015 09:52

Me too. About 3 litres a day! I get bad headaches if I don't, so sod the haters!

Oh she was very pleased of course - the best bit is she's offered to look after Lil whenever I'm feeling too rubbish to cope.

Off to investigate the water thread. After 12 or 13 kidney stones I feel a bit of an expert in all things water works.

HungryHorace · 15/08/2015 12:26

That's lovely of her. :-)

There are some bonkers threads about right now...the MN alternate universe!

Yikes. Just read a bit of the water thread! Hmm Confused I'll stick to doing what I know my body benefits from (c2l/day, more if preggers or bf-ing) Too many migraines and bouts of bad cystitis in the past to be persuaded to do anything different.

Glad your mum was sympathetic Sunny Smile It must help for someone else to know.

HungryHorace · 16/08/2015 08:31

The end of the thread is way more bonkers than the start, Mrs! It's one of the weirdest threads ever.

Raeside · 16/08/2015 09:18

I try not to explore the other threads, I think it's the best policy....I do wonder how much time these people all seem to have to engage in argument! Amaze....

BeanCalledPickle · 16/08/2015 13:02

That thread is absolutely astonishing. I still fail to see how drinking water causes that angry poster so much hassle?!? I never go out without a drink. Never know when I'm going to get stuck on a hot train or tube and at the moment I'm breastfeeding and permanently thirsty. I genuinely have no idea why anyone would give a toss about this!

SunnyL · 16/08/2015 13:24

Grrrrr. Just took a long hot bus ride into town with Lil as a treat to take her to a show at the edinburgh festival. Felt like I was going to vomit the whole way in. And do you know what happened? 15 minutes into the show she declared she didn't like it and wanted to go home. Flipping 20 quid those tickets cost me (because even under 5s are charged full price).
Should have just gone to church. She loves church.

Grrrrr

HungryHorace · 16/08/2015 13:37

I almost always have a drink with me too, Bean. I never knew I was likely to be causing so much rage in others!

Ah, Sunny. I think that's a parenting lesson we will all have at some point. :-/

OP posts:
cuphat · 16/08/2015 16:18

I never go out without a drink either. I'm breastfeeding at the moment too but I drink a lot even when I'm not. I'd never considered people would think my drinking habits strange and annoying! So now I have to worry about breastfeeding and drinking water in public Grin .

Oh no, Sunny.

HungryHorace · 16/08/2015 16:23

Suckling, cup, not drinking!!

OP posts:
cuphat · 16/08/2015 16:59
Grin
BeanCalledPickle · 16/08/2015 20:02

I wonder if she would object to the baby always drinking as well?? Suckling. So grim!!

Raeside · 16/08/2015 21:12

Genuinely scared to go look at that thread now!

SunnyL · 16/08/2015 21:19

So DD pooed her nappy after I'd put her to bed. i just managed to get her cleaned up and put a new nappy on her all without waking her up. WHO'S THE MUMMY!!

P.s. there are only so many people I can tell that to and get the right reaction

BeanCalledPickle · 16/08/2015 21:34

Obviously worried that if she woke up she'd be forced to go to another show at the festival Grin

HungryHorace · 17/08/2015 06:11

That is impressive with a toddler, Sunny. No way would DD be as compliant (but she rarely lies down to have a nappy put on!).

That thread is weird indeed. Especially as apparently thirst is a figment of our imaginations. :-/

So you don't miss out, Rae: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/2447120-To-miss-the-days-when-people-were-just-thirsty?msgid=56162468

It's a pleasure, ha ha!

OP posts:
BeanCalledPickle · 17/08/2015 07:41

That thread has made me realise I do sometimes use it as a crutch though. At work my boss will say, 'have you got ten minutes' and I will say yes, immediately reach for my water and follow him. I don't actually know why. I probably would be ok without a drink during a ten min chat?!?

HungryHorace · 17/08/2015 08:27

Isn't that habit rather than a crutch though? It would be for me.

OP posts:
BeanCalledPickle · 17/08/2015 09:51

I guess it is, yes. Certainly wouldn't occur to me that grabbing the water would annoy anyone!

SunnyL · 17/08/2015 10:05

I always take water into meetings because a) I'm a gassbag and need to take a drink and b) I've had umpteen kidney stones over the years so have trained myself to drink almost constantly to keep them flushed.

Anyway enough TAAT. Lets talk random little 2 year olds again.
