Hope day 2&3 of the new job went well Frazzled.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I got a new toddler sling, some Pyrex dishes (I know how to live the high life!) and a couple of vouchers.

My oldest brother is being his usually twatish self and sent a very pa text, my youngest brother sent a card which arrived today!

I've spent today and yesterday (and will spend tomorrow) on a course. 10 hour days, but at least today had coffee and water- Tuesday was in a hotel and we were having to steal hot water from outside other conference rooms.

I spent yesterday evening making sausage rolls to take to work instead of cakes on Friday. My sausage rolls have reached legendary status, so lots of pressure. I made about 128, but I think I'll keep some in the freezer for another day.

Oooo Beasty send some of these legendary sausage rolls this way, my very fussy eater DP loves sausage rolls.

Hope everyone is having lovely weeks. My Dp is off this week and its been nice to spend some time together. We have even managed to have a conversation about us which was well needed and makes me hopeful for our future. We both admitted we need to spend more time thinking of what the other needs and to stop being selfish.

hales it's so easy to forget about the other person when you're both busy and don't spend much quality time together. Good for you.

I agree it's quite rare at the moment that dh and I think about each other Shock it's all about the dc/money/what's for dinner etc

Thats what we were like Spotty and we were arguing all the time over petty little things. I had even stopped telling him i loved him as i felt like we were going to split up soon. Now we've had the chat we seem much more relaxed. Also he has been ace this week looking after H and me whilst i've been poorly. I'm starting antibiotics today so hoping thats going to turn me back to normal.

Hope the antibiotics help hales.

I'm a bit Hmm at a friend. I leant them a snooze shade last summer and just asked for it back and she said she's given it to charity! She said she'd buy me a new one and I now feel really bad as it's £25 and I probably won't use it again. But there's no way I would have said I didn't want it back as I will sell it after I'm finished with it

hales I really hope you feel better soon, you've had a horrid time. Glad that dp is proving his worth!
spotty I'm just about to sell my snooze shade on eBay - your friend could buy it and give it to - cheaper than new and you'd know it comes from a nice house!

I'm in so much pain can't swallow think it's my wisdom tooth Sad

Spotty Thanks tooth pain is awful.

I got sent to A+E by my GP last night, whilst i was there the police were there looking for the mother of an abandoned baby. How sad is that? The poor woman has carried that baby for 9 months inside her and made the decision that she had no-one to turn to and that the baby is best without her. I can't imagine how awful she must feel.

How awful for all concerned. Life can be so sad sometimes.

How awful hales, are you ok though?

Dd got off the bus in her PE kit and her bus driver said near the end of the day she had had awful diarrhoea. Poor dd. anyway when I unpacked her back it was everywhere even her shoes and socks! I'm not sure it's going to come out. So quick bath before the food shopping came. She's full of beans though so not sure what happened. I blame the school dinners Hmm

Spotty, your poor Dd i hope she is ok.

The mother of the abandoned baby has been found. I hope she gets whatever help she needs. I started crying in A+E when i realised what the police were saying and asked DP could we have the babyBlush

hales I would have done exactly the same thing!

WL it happened literally as they were getting ready to leave for the day so they cleaned her up and she got on the bus (it's just a mini bus with six dc on) so she got to me quicker than had they phoned me etc. she's absolutely fine though full of beans and no more upset tummy?

Hales Thanks that's so sad. Hope you feel better soon.

hales I literally just read that on the news before coming on here. Poor wee baby and the poor mummy. Just so sad. I hope they're both ok.
And I hope you're feeling better. Thanks

spotty there is a bug doing the round here, it seems to be just sickness. Da was sick three times the other night. The next day he was almost normal but off his food. Today he seems fine.
But now DH and I seem to be coming down with it Sad. Poor DH was on a train to visit his brother in Munich when it hit him.

Is it awful that even though I miss DH. And I'm really sad he is ill I'm still a teeeeny tiny bit glad that he isn't here being ill?Blush
he is the most giant pain when he is sick my mum is here so she will help look after the DC at least.

nutella not awful at all - I hate DH being ill. It irritates me irrationally! Poor DH, I have to really force myself to be niceish
spotty glad dd is ok, hope she wasn't upset about it. How's your throat now?

Report
halestone · 18/04/2015 11:06

Nutella, i agree it annoys me when Dp is always ill. But at the same time it annoys me when i'm ill and he doesn't help. I feel guilty for writing that as he has been amazing this week.

I finally am starting to feel better, i have just booked some cinema tickets for me and DP tonight to watch Fast and Furious 7. Its the only thing i can think of to thank him before he goes back to work tomorrow night. I booked the late showing though in the hope we see no one.

Dd starts forest school next week, so from then on for the rest of primary she will be spending one day a week in the woods whatever the weather! Hope she enjoys it. That plus swimming in their pool two days a week I feel really lucky with her school. If ds goes to the pre school, which I think he will, they also do forest school too.

Ooo Spotty i love the sound of that school and would love H to do something like that, it isn't an option like that round here.

Fast and Furious was really goodGrin

H started Ballet and Tap lessons this morning. She didn't do the whole lesson, but just sat on my lap at the parts she didn't like. The teacher said its definitely worth taking her back next week though.

Spotty that sounds like exactly the kind of school I need for DS! He is still an all out action kind of kid and I don't expect that will change. He starts at Kindergarten in November so I'm hoping they will have some advice about his needs as he will be there about 3 years.

hales glad you enjoyed the movie!

Well, I think we are all done being sick now. Just got to get over the funny tummies Hmm
