Moose neocate isn't so bad - nutramigen is the one that's really bogging! Envy Envy Envy Envy

DH has had a day off work and whilst the toddler is with the CM we managed to sort loads of stuff out. I've found all the baby toys so Lil has a toy box ready for when she's interested in toys Smile its so nice getting jobs done that you've been wanting to do for ages.

splendide · 12/01/2015 17:16

No he's not on special - just aptimil to try to get his weight up as he's been failing to thrive on ebf.

wondermoose13 · 12/01/2015 17:17

Lol good to know. I might not use it until weaning as she said best to use it for porridge etc but i feel a lot less stressed having a back up!

STIGZ · 12/01/2015 18:48

Does anyone have an idea why my baba's poo would be green all of a sudden? She is formula fed, I'm starting to think she might have an intolerance of some kind ? I have a paediatrician appointment on wednesday regarding the reflux, what happens at these appointments?

YellowWellies · 12/01/2015 19:52

Likely just a bug at this stage Stigz unless he's generally unsettled and colicky? If it is an intolerance its a lot easier to deal with if FF as the problem has to be cow's milk as there's no exposure to other proteins.

YellowWellies · 12/01/2015 19:53

She sorry!

FATEdestiny · 12/01/2015 20:46

STIGZ - My DD has had varying shades of green poo since formula was first introduced. Sometimes it's other colours and sometimes it's green. She's a contented, happy soul who sleeps and feeds well so I am not at all concerned about it.

As long as all is well with baby, I believe poo can healthily be a kaleidoscope of colours.

splendide · 12/01/2015 20:51

I just put A in his little sleepyhead bed on the other sofa wide awake sort of as a joke - like, oh why don't you try sleeping as you're clearly knackered. And he did. He's been asleep half an hour. Bizarre! I just stuck his dummy in. Presumably total one off but shows it's possie in theory. He's been fed to sleep for basically all other sleeps his whole life.

FATEdestiny · 12/01/2015 20:58

splendide - fantastic! Definitely doable to out A down awake with a dummy. Are you seeing a chink of light at the end of the tunnel yet?

splendide · 12/01/2015 21:18

Do you know? I really am a bit! He's still asleep. If he's still asleep at 10 I'll wake him for a bottle and change and breastfeed and then fingers crossed. Slightly scared I'm wrecking the night sleep by letting him sleep from 8 but that's the end goal isn't it? For him to have a reasonable bedtime.

splendide · 12/01/2015 22:01

Ok DH administering the bottle now then I'll try to put him down again. Real shame to wake him though he was really asleep. He can't skip feeds though with his weight where it is.

STIGZ · 12/01/2015 22:34

Thanks girls on the poo advice, she is fine otherwise ? Will mention it to the ped on wednesday.

splendid once he is putting on weight you will probably notice a big diffrence in his sleep pattern, so dont feel badSmile

YellowWellies · 13/01/2015 00:01

Stigz if she's fine otherwise I really wouldn't worry. Green poos from CMPI tend to be mucousy and foaming. Green poo can happen for lots of benign reasons.

wondermoose13 · 13/01/2015 01:38

Hmm babymoose went to sleep at 930 which is virtually unheard of for him (thought i was getting an early birthday present for today!) But woke up at 11.30 and hasnt slept since! Keeps pulling at my top and endless chewing but wakes up if i move him! Boooo!

splendide · 13/01/2015 03:40

Well that was pretty cool. Slept until just now not too shabby. 10.17 - 3.35. I have a horrible feeling we're now up for the day though :/

Missus2ndwife · 13/01/2015 04:20

Just catching up on yesterday's posts. Anyone else struggle to sleep post feed or just me?

Fingers crossed for your weigh in today Splendide. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Was it Stigz who said bubba was 13lbs13? That's what my baby was last weigh in. Just as an FYI the female physio told me to stop carrying the baby in the car seat as it was bad for our bodies - think about it: weight of car seat plus baby (eg 11kgs plus) body lob sided and straining ... With hormones still in swing ... Can cause serious body damage.

I too think our baby will be moving into his cot & room shortly. He's getting too big for his Moses basket and I'm finding he sleeps much better when he goes down in his own space even if it's for a nano nap.

X

wondermoose13 · 13/01/2015 04:52

Argh babymoose has given up on sleep! Not sure if it was the jabs or teething but hes not sleepy and im back to feeling like a zombie! The past two nights hes been up every 2 hrs but at least we got a few lots of 2 hrs! :(

sazzlehopes · 13/01/2015 07:07

Splendide sounds promising.

Moose I'm with you in the painful nights. Last night he fed at 8ish and went to sleep,
Woke at 10pm when we went to bed then at 12, 2, 4 and 6 for feeding and now I'm up with the ds1... It was amazing really how bang on 2 hours it was last night. I really hope this doesn't continue much longer. I'm tired and my nips are sore this morning...
Perhaps it's time to introduce some formula, he seemed cross last night that my poor savaged boobs were not providing enough milk?!!

OP posts:
splendide · 13/01/2015 07:23

And we're up! Total fluke night I'm sure but it's a lot more sensible than he's ever done before. 8-7.15 with feeds at 10 and 3.30.

fatpony · 13/01/2015 07:44

I'm hoping this isn't also a little fluke but M just did his longest sleep ever. 8.15pm (his normal time) to 5am! Then feed and back down to 7.15. Night before last he did till 4.15am so hope it continues! He did have his jabs yesterday though.

STIGZ · 13/01/2015 07:59

Happy birthday moose WineCakeFlowers you doing anything nice?

Thumbs up for better nights last night, i put my lo down for the night at 9pm that was her until 2.30 then back to bed at 3am till 7.15am so thats bloody fantastic in my book ?

Thumbs down for 2 hour wakesSad hopefully it will improve soon?

Yip missus me with the 13lb baby, and i have been warned about lifting the car seat due to the c/sec & spd Blush i have been good at times and attaching it to the pram but even thats getting hard to line up the wee clips, but somedays im out & in the car like a peep in the gas, so rather than wake her i lift that heavy contraption !! But deffo will go back to clipping it on to the pram more often. Good luck for cot transfer ... Cant believe its that time already Sad

YellowWellies · 13/01/2015 08:44

Fecking dog was let into the back garden by DH when he got up early to head to Aberdeen. The dog woke us all, and probably half the street barking at the snow, at 5.50! DH is so for the high jump when he gets home on Thursday. Maybe I'll just make him look after two grumpy kids for 14 hours.... Envy

Missus2ndwife · 13/01/2015 08:47

Happy birthday moose!! Hope you have a great day.

Well done to all those sleeping babies. I hope it lasts

Stigz, I do the same with the car seat. I realise a lot is logic with attaching it to a pram but I think deep down inside we're all still trying to be super mommies (of course I can carry heavy baby in a car seat)
Confused

tattyblue · 13/01/2015 10:44

Another unproductive half hour in the annals of the bottle wars. Both me and the baby in tears, dp looking pretty miserable. I don't know what to do. Really tempted to just jack the whole thing in, except that I need to be able to work. I'm beginning to feel the slightly creepy early depression feeling, and it would be so much easier to deal with if I could leave her a bit. We've tried everything I can think of. Do we just persevere and hope eventually she'll accept it? Is that at all likely to work?
